The True Master of the Smash Brothers part 18
" No One Rules the Smash Brothers!"
Omni stared up at the golden hedgehog standing before him. "You can't be serious…"
"I be serious…even if I don't show it that often,"
"You honestly believe you can match me with your super form…" Omni scoffs. "I admit that is a nice try, but it won't last long enough for you to be able to defeat me,"
"I plan on getting through to my friend Lucas under there," Super Sonic said.
"Then you plan to waste your time," Omni picked himself back up to his feet. Sparks of intense psionic energy began circling around Omni's body. He extends a hand to unleash a narrowed beam from his palm that comes shooting out giving off a pure show of golden light. Super Sonic quickly twisted his body out of the way of the blast as he flies into the air. Omni transforms his cape into wings to fly into the air also following after the hedgehog.
"Well, it seems Sonic has him distracted for the moment, now we push on through," Lucario said pointing toward the castle. The group all give a shout of agreement as they move toward the castle, but only to be confronted by the Fearsome Five. "You continue to stand in our way,"
"Whatever you plan on doing, it won't work," Yami stated rather plainly.
"I never thought you would be one to give up so easily Yami," Ness suddenly speaks up stepping forward. The members of Sonic Universe all pauses as their eyes grow wide staring at Ness, then the shadow warriors who stare at Ness in shock.
"You know each other!?" they all exclaimed.
"Yeah, these were the five who perished in the first tournament…the ones who didn't make it," Ness explained.
"You have a lot of nerve addressing us so casually!" spat Isaac who was clearly showing hostility toward Ness.
"Listen guys, we can save you, we can end this life for you. You don't have to be used like this if you just help us,"
"Help you, why the hell would we do that!?"
"Because, if Omni wins, everyone loses!"
"Because winning is what matters to you most…even at the expense of others, even your so called friends!" Isaac spat. He turned his attention to the oblivious portion of the Smashers. "I bet you guys would be curious to how we all died. Well, your so called friends were pretty good in stabbing each and every one of us in the back. We died by their hand!"
"We…knew people died…we just didn't think they did any killing," Lucario spoke.
"But what is done is done," Gannondorf said stepping up with crossed arms.
"You have little room to talk," the swordsman Payne spoke up. "After all, the grudge you hold against the other holders of the Triforce has spanded eons itself,"
"But carried on by someone different in different timelines,"
"What does it matter?"
"He's a bad example then, but it doesn't change the fact you have minds. You can think for yourself, you know right from wrong, and this a chance to do something different," Snake said.
"You'd have us stand against a god?" Tar the assassin questioned shaking his head. "You all must be insane…"
"Well, that's a base requirement to be a Smasher," Pit said with a smirk.
"You try saving the world, we'll stick with surviving," Celestia, the enchantress.
"And they wonder why they ended up the way they did," Bowser said shaking his head. "Cowards,"
They moved forward to confront the shadow warriors. Despite their disconnection from the Smash Force, despite their powers, durability, and numbers the Smashers fought with all they had. Celestia casts a powerful wind spell upon them. Zelda took the lead using Nayru's Love to divert the wind back towards the shadows. Pit and Meta Knight opened their wings to use them to ride the wind. Pit notched an arrow let it fly toward Tar who found himself wailing in pain at the object slamming into his chest. Meta Knight attacked the enchantress with his blazing speed unleash a sword beam increased by the heavy wind surrounding him. She was overpowered by the sheer force of the attack. Yami reveals his blade to rush toward Lucario. Lucario fakes out the ninja with a double team Yami was startled but on guard for Lucario's reappearance. However, he was not prepared to be suddenly surrounded by a ring of fire. The breath in his throat hitched as he looked around for a point to escape the flames which were provided by Zelda and Bowser. Lucario was above him to drop an aura sphere the size of his entire body. It was too big for Yami to avoid as he gasps taking the hit head on. Tar extends his wrist blades to lunge forward for Snake. Snake was quick to grab the assassins wrist before the blades could penetrate into his skin. Snake bashed his forehead into Tar's noise then struck with a flying knee into his chest, he cupped his hands then brought it down in a hammer fashion down onto Tar's head slamming the man into the ground. ROB grabbed the man's feet then began spinning in circle as fast as his motors allowed to release him to send him soaring into the air. Payne heaved his giant sword then leaped into the air to bring down the sword in a hammer swing.
"Bowser!" Pit yelled throwing his bow. Bowser snatches the item out the air then holds up in one hand to catch Payne's weapon. The force of the blow was so powerful the ground beneath Bowser's feet shatter as an explosion of dust surrounded them. Wolf shot out his blaster, setting it on stun, to make the swordsman pause before responding giving Bowser the opening he needed.
"Come here you!" Bowser growled grabbing the swords hilt then tossing away Pit's bow. "Here's real strength!" Bowser exclaimed pulling his fist back then launching it into a powerful haymaker that sent Payne flying possibly all the way into outer space.
"A little excessive don't ya think?" Pit questioned with his bow on his shoulder as he looks up into the sky.
"I only sent him into the stratosphere, he'll come back down…eventually,"
"You wimps!" Isaac growled as he realized he was the only one left.
"It's over, stand aside or be put down," Lucario said gravely serious. His words were accompanied by the sound of thunder. However it wasn't really thunder it was only Omni and Super Sonic colliding with one another up above.
"I can do anything you can do!" Isaac exclaims throwing an aura sphere at Lucario. Lucario however lazily deflected the attack with the back of his paw. Isaac growled as he took in Ness' powers as his eyes starting glowing. Suddenly, a shadow overtook him and he looked up to see Sheik had appeared above him to body slam him into the ground.
"Let's go," she said simply as she leads the way into the castle. Ness pauses staring at Isaac then turning to follow the group.
Above Omni and Super Sonic were circling each other in brightly colored blurs. Super Sonic surrounded by a gold aura and Omni surrounded by a mixture of black and white. Omni scoffed, almost a bit insulted that this was lasting so long. He revealed a weapon he had in his holster, a golden sword with it he shot lightning at Super Sonic, who simply scoffed.
"I could dodge lightning before I went super, I don't think you're gonna hit me with that Luke," Super Sonic said squishing his body low to dodge the lightning. While he's moving faster than light, Super Sonic pasts Omni while also snatching his weapon. "You weren't the sword type either, I mean stick with what you know right?" Super Sonic broke the object in half then tossed it away. Omni growled as he lashed out with another psionic blast of energy that misses again adding to his frustration.
"You've never been the spamming type Lucas, try actually using your PSI. Requires you to focus more anyway and that is what you excel at,"
"Fine then if that is what you desire, PK Fire!" Omni circled around Sonic to point both hands out to unleash a giant explosion of flames focused into a stream as the flames seemed to burn blue with anger and hatred.
"Whew that is hot!" Super Sonic said raising his arm to shield himself from the intense heat as he barely managed to glide away. Omni rushes Sonic slamming his boot into Super Sonic's cheek. The force behind it was enough to shatter a continent as Super Sonic went soaring to the ground and smash into it.
"Let's see you dodge this, PK Freeze!" Omni unleashed a concentrated blizzard down upon Super Sonic. The icy wind and snow crashed down on Super Sonic making the hedgehog shake with cold as the winds instantly cooled him down to the point he was freezing solid.
"Good thing I can stand the cold…go from hot to cold huh, good to see his reception towards me hasn't changed," Super Sonic shatters the ice that is slowly incasing him. "Let's try this…" Super Sonic clapped his hands together then began rubbing them together at supersonic speed. He slowly began building up an astounding amount of friction and heat. Until suddenly his hands are as hot as fire, once he does that he point his hands up then began turning them rapidly until they become a funnel shape to create a small tornado pointed upwards. With the heat he obtained on his hands the heat transferred with the cold air fighting against it creating an updraft. This updraft made the atoms at the meeting point clash creating sparks and the beginning of a small lightning storm. Super Sonic pulls his hands back then pushes off the ground then began spinning like a top following the wind direction he created. Once arriving at the meeting points the lightning conducts with Super Sonic directly as he tears through Omni's blizzard and directly into Omni's chest.
"Ugh!" Omni called out partially in shock then pain. "How…could someone like you-?" Omni said bringing a hand to his head to shake off his dizziness. He realized that he's touching his hair instead of his helmet. He glared at Super Sonic to see the hedgehog held his helmet in his hand while smirking.
"Like that huh, I'm smarter then you give me credit for Luke. Now that you like Lucas, do you feel more like Lucas?"
"PK Thunder!" Omni yelled shooting up a string of lightning. Super Sonic held up the helmet to block the blast and ended with the helmet's destruction. "Stop this futile act Sonic. You can't save him, Lucas is gone!"
"I won't give up on my friend!" Super Sonic suddenly turns serious make Omni give a surprised look at the hedgehog. "Ya hear me Lucas! I'm going save you, I won't abandon you, not now not ever!"
"Sonic…" Lucas's voice whispered, but Omni quickly took back the reigns grabbing his head. "STOP IT!"
"Hey Lucas, come on out so I can show you that sunflower field you like, ya know, the one I had found a few continents away!" Super Sonic said gently extending his hand. Omni or Lucas, it was growing difficult to tell them apart at first glance as it seemed that Lucas was indeed fighting. Omni's eyes shines a golden color as a scowl takes over his features making Sonic suck his teeth in disappointment at how close he was. Super Sonic found himself floating back in the air quickly as the elements of fire and ice were crashing towards him. Omni raises his hands bring down a barrage of lighting from the clouds down on Sonic. Super Sonic managed to avoid a few strings, but one had caught him in the back because he was avoiding flames and ice at the same time. As soon as the first blow was made Omni unleashed his full arsenal of lightning, fire, and ice. Super Sonic winces realizing how dangerous that one attack had almost knocked him right out of his super form. "Okay, how about your favorite joke,"
"Silence mortal!" Omni exclaims pointing out a hand toward Super Sonic to unleash three separate beams of psionic energy from his single hand and each flying at different angles. Super Sonic twist his body in an awkward position as he tries avoiding each beam.
"Okay, here it-,"
"SHUT UP!"
"A horse walks into a bar-," he was cut off by a raging fire that slammed into him knocking him into a tailspin. He regains control quickly to create a barrier around himself fending off a few of Omni's attacks. "Omni, you're supposed to let me finish my quip, it's like a rule, tell him Lucas,"
"Sonic, that isn't my favorite joke, I only laughed once!" Lucas' called out with a slight smirk. However after that instant Omni began trying to take over as Lucas was pushed away with the two entities fighting for control of the body. "Sonic…"
"I'm on it buddy!" Super Sonic exclaims racing to the rescue. He tackles the boy as they begin a nosedive straight down. Omni growls in annoyance as he tries to fight Super Sonic off. Super Sonic grabs both of Omni's wings then rips them right off at the same time as he kicks off Omni. He's slammed into the ground harshly with no cushioning as the wings dispersed in Sonic's hands. Super Sonic turns to the smoke to see Omni or Lucas hold their side in pain as they try to pick themselves up. Super Sonic held his ground waiting to see wheatear it was Omni in control or Lucas. "Lucas, if you're in there, I need you to focus. Where is Omni hiding the Oracle Sphere?"
"Sphere…Sphere…in…in…" Lucas was gasping as his body was betraying him since it was trying to quiet him seemingly. "…dragon…" This was the only words Lucas could speak before Omni demanded full control again. Super Sonic mashes his teeth as it appeared Omni at this time has full control with little resistance from Lucas. "You sneaky worm…"
"Who, little 'ol me?" Super Sonic responded innocently.
"I didn't understand how the host's personality was coming out until I realized your ability. Your aura is able to cut through anyone who is consumed with evil, bringing forth their true selves or cleansing them of evil emotions. I was unaware such an ability existed, but should have realized nothing less from the embodiment of chaos itself. However, your chaos powers fall short, as I am not evil so your powers can only dampen my control over the host. Now that I have taken a moment to assess the situation, we shouldn't be hearing from the boy again,"
"Your slime, I'm not going to let you use my friend's hands for such devastation,"
"Your poor fool, these hands have already caused devastation long before I got them or didn't you know?" Super Sonic frowns in displeasure. "Oh, you don't do you, how he basically destroyed his home wishing on a mythical creature,"
"That's enough, I'm not going to let you make Lucas out to be that kind of person," Super Sonic rushed Omni head for the two to engage in close quarters combat. Omni blocked Sonic's first strike by crossing his arms as his feet slides in the dirt. Omni leaps up avoiding a sliding kick afterward. While in the air Omni shoots down a few quick burst of psionic energy. Super Sonic quickly warps away dodging the attack. He meets Omni in the air to grab him and throw him into the ground. Super Sonic charges forward but halts when Omni swings his feet back forcing Super Sonic to cross his arms to block the attack. Super Sonic was knocked back a few paces in the air before landing on his feet. Omni leaps out at Super Sonic for a lunging punch that Super Sonic sidesteps, then a roundhouse that Super Sonic raises a forearm to block, but Omni ignites his hand to grab Sonic's arm. Super Sonic hisses as the burning as if it were a bee sting. Super Sonic turned his back make Omni push against his back then curled up for a quadruple sonic spin as he went rolling against the ground eventually making Omni lose his grip as he is left behind. Super Sonic rises up to slam down on Omni's back making the god cry out. He turns sharply unleashing a flashing blue beam of light out his hand in response knocking sonic right out of his spin form. "I'm a better fighter Omni, all that knowledge on combat doesn't mean anything if you haven't had time to adjust to this new body. And I pretty much know most of Lucas' moves since I spar with him a lot and I taught him a few,"
"Yes, but this crash course is teaching me quite a lot," Omni said wiping his mouth as he stands to his feet. "But does it really matter, because time is not on your side. You Super Form will not last much longer even as you try to conserve energy this way, and the boy has one foot in the grave already making that positive aura of yours useless. This battle will ultimately end in my favor,"
"Don't count your chicken before they hatch," Super Sonic said with a smirk.
Inside the distorted Smash castle the members of Sonic Universe were running through the place as fast as they could. Sonic had been kind enough to leave his communicator on so they all could hear every word that was said, even from Lucas. Ness was pained to hear Lucas sound so broken with the last time they had heard him. Toon Link assured him thought that they would save Lucas, and the universe in the process. Lucas mentioned something about the sphere being in a dragon, but it made little to no sense to anyone. They thought possibly a shadow warrior in the form of a dragon, but after battling through hordes of them they figured hiding such an important artifact would not be placed in the hands of non-thinking shadow warriors. They decided to stick together as a group even though practicality screamed for them to split up so they could cover more ground quicker. However, they all felt this overbearing need that they needed to stay together. Currently they were walking partly to catch their breaths and think of a plan while still moving.
"Obviously dragon means something more personal since Omni subconsciously must have had Lucas pick the hiding spot," Snake pointed out.
"How do we know it is still in this hiding spot, Omni can easily teleport it somewhere else, somewhere not even on this plane of existence," Meta Knight said.
"True, but Master and Crazy would definitely notice if something like that happened. Even with all the chaos they are connected to the planet so they'll know if something is coming or going," Ness explains. "His only options are either to hold onto it himself, or hide it somewhere close. Since Sonic has his attention for now, he's gotta leave it where it is and hope he can outlast Super Sonic,"
"When did you get your memory back anyway Ness?" Pit asks.
"Before I rejoined you guys after Master Hand called the Original 12 onto the Halberd. I know exactly and who we are up against now. If we hurry we may be able to pull off a miracle,"
"Well we won't be able to do that if we could wondering around aimlessly," Zelda said as she crosses his arms.
"Snake said it must mean something personal…maybe from Lucas' time on the island, his home…" Ness said in thought.
"I remember I was able to squeeze a little of what happened out of him," Lucario states. "He mentioned something about finding seven needles to restore life to a creature that could bring rebirth,"
"Dragons are often seen as mythical creatures wielding phenomenal power, some can be considered gods themselves, maybe this is the dragon Lucas mentioned," Gannondorf says.
"Yes…so Lucas went on a journey to wake up a dragon to restore the world…I don't think it makes sense," Pit said closing his eyes while bringing a finger to his head and tapping it lightly.
"Because we are missing a few pieces…" Lucario explains.
"Lucas mentioned…that his home rested on this giant creatures back…he said, 'his home was an island, that turned out to be resting on top of something that was only sleeping' or something like that,"
"The dragon was underneath the island," Meta Knight stated. "So, would that stand to reason…the dragon we are looking for is below the castle?"
"It wouldn't hurt to try, how do we go down?" Toon Link wonders.
"PULLING UP MAP, PLOTTING ROUTE TO BASEMENT LEVEL…PLOTTING…PLO-," R.O.B says but Bowser pushes the robot aside.
"Let's take the direct route," Bowser says raising his fists above his head. He brought it down hard on the ground creating a large crack in the floor.
"Really, you couldn't break it with one punch, I'm disappointed Bowser, allow me," Gannondorf says. He raises his fist covering it in dark magic as he warlock punches the ground breaking it apart completely opening up the bottom floor of the castle. They all begin falling to the ground below to all land roughly on their feet. The room is extremely dark, almost foreboding. Until blue flames alight the torches along the wall revealing the large room. The warriors glance around to see that it is some kind of throne room, this must be where Omni normally resides. Above the back of the throne on the wall is the bulging statue of a dragon appearing to be chasing his tail. There are also strange needles pinned in the hands, feet, tail, back, and finally the head of the dragon counting them to be seven in all.
"THIS COURSE OF ACTION IS ACCEPTABLE TOO,"
"I'm gonna take a wild guess and say this must be it," Wolf said offhandedly.
"Well let's crack it open and get the sphere," Bowser says stepping forward. He walks over to the statue then smash his fist into the head of the beast. However, he notices the statue doesn't break, doesn't even crack. He tries again with greater force, but still the stone holds strong. Bowser loses his temper as he begins to pound away at the stone in anger and frustration. He claws, bites, burns, and punches it but nothing changes. "WHAT THE HELL!"
"It's enchanted Bowser," Zelda points out.
"How long did ya know that?"
"As soon as I saw it,"
"WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY ANYTHING?!"
"You were a raving maniac, I stopped trying after five times!" Zelda says raising her hand.
"So it's enchanted…what does that mean?" Snake asks.
"It will either take a powerful magic user to break, one that is not present at this moment, or find a way around the enchantment," Gannon explains.
"Maybe, my arrows can do something. They are blessed by the Goddess of Light after all," Pit says as he notches an arrow. He lets it fly only for the arrow to bounce off what appears to be a magical shield around the statue. Pit quickly ducks as the arrow soars over his head. "Okay maybe not,"
"The source of the spell are those needles," Zelda points to the objects sticking out. "They enchant the stone, removing them should make them vulnerable again,"
"Well that sounds doable," Bowser says as he wraps a hand around a needle. He gives good yank, but notices the needle not budge. He snarls showing his teeth as he gets it with both hands and pulls for all he's worth. He pulls and pull, but the needle doesn't budge in the slightest. "Damn it!"
"Let me try," Gannondorf says as he grabs the same needle then pulls himself. He pulls and pulls, but nothing is happening. "The needles seem to require not brute force it seems, but a reaction to a special energy or spell,"
"One that only Omni may know…" Meta Knight says looking down dejectedly. At his hopeless statement the others began to lose some hope of their own unsure how to proceed. Not like they could go up and ask Omni how it works.
"Ness…" Lucario suddenly speaks up getting the cap boy's attention. "These needles…do you think they may be like the ones on Lucas's home?"
"Hey…ya know what…that might be true!" Ness exclaims. "Only Lucas could pull those needles because of his special power, his special PSI,"
"SCANNERS SHOW THAT HYPOTHESIS MAY HAVE MERIT,"
"So that's what's needed, PSI?" Snake asks.
"No, a specific technique, no substitutes, so my PK Rocken won't cut it here," Ness says. "How do we get Lucas to use PK Love, seven times at that?"
"Sounds like you may need help," came a voice toward the entrance of the room. Everyone turn sharply to see Isaac leaning on the door frame rather casually.
"What do you want?" Ness growled.
"I thought on the offer, and I decided I will help you guys. I mean, as much fun as being an undying slave is, I think I'm done with all this. I really didn't think you guys could do it…but…" Isaac's eyes fall to the ground. "I was scared of Omni…but I guess with you psychos involved, Omni may actually have a chance to fall. I mean, no one has ever been crazy enough to take Omni head on like this. Your friend out there is amazing, he was actually winning!"
"So you want to help us?" Lucario asks. Isaac nods sternly.
"I want to make up for the things I've done as Omni's puppet!" Isaac says sternly.
"How can he help?" Wolf asks.
"Isaac has the ability to copy the abilities of those whoever he chooses," Ness realizes with a start. "You can absorb Lucas's ability to use PK Love and pull the needles!"
"Yeah, but there's just one little problem…" Isaac says pinching his fingers close together. Everyone looks at him waiting to continue. "I kinda need to have direct eye contact for a few moments, and they have to be a couple yards away," Isaac says bashfully rubbing the back of his head.
"So we have to bring Omni in here?" Lucario asks. Isaac nods. "Alright, it seems we don't have much choice. Get positioned on the other side of the room, Omni will sense your presence, but we shall buy you time,"
"Alright," Isaac hurries to the other side of the room before pausing standing next to Ness, Ness stares back with studying gaze. "I remember when you were shorter than me," he said with a chuckle. Then his distorted face grew serious. "Look…I forgive you for what happened…it wasn't really all your fault. I was scared too, we both were, with Omni's crazy telepathy messing with our heads it was hard to tell up from down. Seeing you fight this hard for you friend, I think you've grown a lot Ness. I'm super proud of you and I would love if we could be friends again," Isaac says holding out his hand. Ness was genuinely touched by this, what he felt was his greatest error in his entire life. Ness clasp Isaac's hand then shakes.
"Thank you," Isaac smiles then jumps upon hearing a crash as he rushes back toward the throne. Another crash and then another. "What's happening?"
"Sonic should be here with the package at any moment," Snake said.
Another crash and then they see Super Sonic flying backwards. The golden hedgehog flips to slide against the ground on his feet as he tries to catch his breath. Omni floats in through the hole levitating to the ground landing gently. Omni smirks seeing as his foes in one spot. His eyes can through each and every one of them. Taking in all their faces and expressions. His eyes however, catch something off farther away. He narrows his eyes concentrating his vision on a certain shadow warrior hiding behind his throne staring back at him. Omni waves his hand and a telekinetic force slams into the members of Sonic Universe throwing them and pinning them to the wall as Omni steps forward toward Isaac.
"Shadow, what do you think you're doing?" Omni demands. Isaac shutters glad that Omni could not possibly see him sweat. Isaac needed to concentrate and find the base of all of Omni's powers. He can't copy Omni simply because he's too powerful and one attack could destroy what little existence he has. He kept searching trying to find the boy named Lucas, not Omni. "I ask you a question shadow!"
"Someone separate the Lucas persona, I can't get a fix!" Isaac exclaims.
"I don't know what's going on, but that I can do," Super Sonic peeled himself off the wall glowing brighter with a golden color. Omni turns sharply waving his hand to guide Sonic's flight path straight to the ground.
"You can do nothing fool," Omni responds. A laser beam comes flying at Omni, so the god raises his head to stare directly at it halting the attack in midair. He widens his eyes to reflect the attack right back at ROB who fired it. A brick came flying at him too so Omni smashed it with one punch. Super Sonic rushed Omni again, this time faster than Omni could even think as he slammed into him shining brightly then slammed him into a wall. Briefly everyone at first heard Omni growling, then the brief gasps for help from Lucas who was clearly growing weaker inside the Omni persona.
"It's faint, but I got it, try and keep that link alive!" Isaac instructed. Omni's peripheral vision caught sight of what Isaac was doing. He saw him yank out one of the needles on the Dark Dragon statue.
"NO!" Omni hollered unleashing a psychic blast that scrambled Sonic's nervous system. Omni knocked Sonic away to rush Isaac. Omni was delayed by another laser blast from ROB and Bowser's flames.
"I'm sorry Lucas," Toon Link apologizes as he rushes forward intent on impaling Omni. Omni raises his hand to hold back the flames and laser then simply backhands Toon into a wall. Isaac concentrates all his might on maintaining the link he has with Lucas after pulling three needles. He tries focusing on the fourth but finds himself unable to with Omni persona taking over again.
"Bring back the connection!"
"You heard the kid Lucas, we don't connect like we used to, be honest with me is there someone else?" Super Sonic slams into Omni's gut with a spin dash smashing the god against the wall. "I mean you're so cold, distant, and you never want to cuddle!" Super Sonic avoids a laser beam out of Omni's eyes by leaning back from his torso.
"PK Flash!" Ness exclaims as a green burst of energy smashes into Omni resulting in a large explosion. Omni waves away the smoke in irritation plastered on his face. Lucario launches an aura sphere that Omni deflects right toward Isaac. However, Toon Link leaps up with his shield to defend him just as the fifth needle is removed.
"Keep the pressure on him!" Snake yells firing his rocket launcher at Omni. Omni casually deflects the flying grenade as if it was a fly in his face. Sheik threw a barrage of needles at Omni, but the needles all bounce right off his skin as if he was made of steel as each needle rings with a pinging sound.
"Fight together!" Wolf says letting out a few rounds of his blaster as Snake pulls out an assault rifle to begin firing on the god. Sheik shifts into Zelda to launch Dyn's Fireball at Bowser. Bowser swallows the sphere of flames then spits out a giant fireball of his own that overtakes the image of Omni. Gannon rushes into the smoke as it splits upon his entry. He uses his dark magic to grabble with Omni who was barely perturbed by the fireball and planned to use the smoke as cover to ambush Isaac who just pulled the sixth needle. Omni felt the sting of the dark magic but managed to reverse his grip on Gannon to turn around sharply and throw the king of evil over his head. Suddenly, Meta Knight appeared before and with a swish of his cape Pit came out with a rain of arrows. Omni crosses his arms as the light arrows banged against his hardy skin. Though the damage was clear even though Omni held strong as he fended off the attack a lightning bolt sprung from his body lashing out at them to knock them away.
"PK Rocken!" Ness exclaims using his signature move that the Smash Force is no longer in power, Lucario launches a full powered giant aura sphere at the same time as the two attacks combine. The results are extremely explosive as the calmness of aura, interacts with the livid energy of Ness's. They explode in Omni's face actually having enough force to throw him back.
"No…impossible…your just mortals…" Omni grunts in actual pain and shocked by it.
"Well, I'm pretty shocked too Omni…" Isaac said grunting as he pulls as hard as he can on the last needle focusing the PK Love he copied from Lucas.
"You fools…you have no idea how much the universe needs Omni…or who your real allies are," Omni groaned.
"We'll take our chances, but we thank you for your consideration. Lucas come on out!" Super Sonic yelled punching Omni in the jaw. He swung again and he notice the blows though weaker compared to when they started, were doing a lot more damage though as if Lucas was starting to come out. With one final yank Isaac removed the needle also making the stone break apart into pieces suddenly. In the center of the mess in the Oracle Sphere.
"There it is!" Lucario yelled.
"Now is your chance!" Isaac yelled holding up the sphere.
"Sonic bring back Lucas!" Ness yelled. Super Sonic smirked as he grabbed Omni by the scruff of his shirt.
"Thanks, but no thanks, we'd prefer our buddy over you," With the last drop of his power Super Sonic put it all into his hands as placed it on Omni's chest. Suddenly, there is a powerful bright light that shines overpowering everyone's eyes. They all had to look away from it, but once the light dies down a little everyone opens their eyes. They see a regular blue Sonic the hedgehog, holding in his arms Lucas dressed in his normal clothes.
"LUCAS!" Ness and Toon link rush over to see if their friend is okay. Sonic bends down while still cradling Lucas.
"Did we-?" Ness was almost terrified to ask. He hoped they hadn't been too late and that Lucas wasn't already dead before they released him from Omni. He looked peaceful and no one could tell if he was breathing or not. Toon Link was brave enough wanting to know the truth as he reached out hand gingerly to place it against Lucas's neck to feel for a pulse. Toon Link's face told the story. He felt around a moment still not feeling one at all. He decided that he'd rely on his ears instead as he places them against Lucas' chest in slight fear. Everyone gathered around Lucas all saw the boy's face visible relax as his anxiety settles.
"He's alive…" he sighs with relief. After he said this Lucas began to stir in Sonic's arms as his eyes open slowly. He fidgets a bit as well.
"Easy there Luke," Ness said placing a hand gently on his friend's shoulder. Lucas is mildly aware of the sensation of being in control of his body again. His eyes open a bit wider as he looks up to see Sonic. His eyes then cast over to see Ness and Toon Link smiling ear to ear at him. He notices Lucario right behind them letting out a breath of relief as he smiles too. He notices the other members of Team Sonic Universe all smirking at him as if he had won an impossible fight.
"Did we win…?" Lucas questioned weakly.
"You bet we did," Lucario said proudly.
"We are so glad to see you well Lucas, we were worried sick," Zelda says in great relief. She looks at Gannondorf then nudges him with her elbow. He mumbles, 'yeah, great you're not dead and stuff'.
"I know some tough soldiers who wouldn't have made it through that," Snake said proudly.
"Not many people can survive that, I mean he was possessed by a god and he somehow managed to separate his personality from it!" Pit exclaims.
"I guess when it came down to it, you didn't need all that power did you?" Meta Knight says with a small wink. Lucas smiles as he tries to stand on his feet out of Sonic's arms.
"No, no, no, you need to wait. Your body took one hell of a pounding, you can't move just yet," Ness said stopping Lucas. Lucas frowns at Ness. "I know your tough, you know I'm overprotective by now, so we both are gonna have to deal with each other's hang ups,"
Lucas smiles, "Thanks…for saving me…" he managed to say in a raspy voice. Lucas looks up at Sonic next. "Sonic…when I'm better…can we go to that sunflower field you told me about..?"
"Of course!" Sonic said with a smirk.
"And Sonic…" Sonic waited for Lucas to continue. "I really do hate that joke…"
"That's why I told it,"
"Well isn't this just a regular happy ending," came Isaac's voice, however it sounded different. Less distorted and more clear. Everyone turned sharply to stare with widened eyes. They see that Isaac has retained a body. He has curly brown hair with bangs over his forehead, sharp hazel eyes, pale skin, with a white shirt, black pants, and grey sneakers. A rather odd combination of clothes. "I'm glad we all get what we wanted,"
"Oh no…" Ness gasps.
"What's happening?" Lucario questions as the Oracle Sphere begins glowing.
"Get that sphere away from him!" Wolf exclaims.
"No it's too late!" Zelda exclaims standing in between everyone and Isaac.
"Now is the new era, of a REAL Omni and not some weakling. This is what I deserved from the very first moment I stepped onto this stupid world. I deserved this power!" the light grows stronger.
"Damn it!" Gannon growled.
"Zelda!" Snake exclaims. The princess focuses her magic. The very next second the entire smash castle explodes in showing of black light. A few miles away a swirling vortex of magic appears showing the Smashers had made it out just in time.
"A little closer next time Zelda…" Pit said wiping his brow.
"We may have a new problem…" Meta Knight says staring at the growing black light.
"I knew it was a snake, but I still let it bite me…" Ness growled.
"So when someone is worthy of Omni, they become someone like Lucas…" Wolf states.
"So if they are not worthy…" Lucario states as he stares up at the monstrosity slowly growing in size. Eventually the creature of black begins to take shape. The beast is large, about the height of a small skyscraper. It's made completely out of black negative energy all constructed into one form. The form appeared to be that of a two legged wolf but there were no details to be found, only a silhouette of one. Upon closer inspection they all realized that it had dark long flowing tails from its backside, meaning it was no wolf, but a fox. Some kind of demon fox with twelve tails all swishing with erratic energy and blood red eyes that cut through the deep darkness. "They become a monster,"
"He'll destroy everything…" Bowser gasps.
"ENERGY LEVELS GROWING ERRATIC, WARNING, WARNING, MASS IS GROWING UNSTABLE. ESTIMATED TIME FOR MELTDOWN IN 18 MINUTES," ROB informed.
"We gotta beat this thing in 18 minutes!" Toon Link gasps.
"Well that just means that's 16 more then we need," Lucas stated. Everyone turns sharply to see him standing on his feet again still leaning on Sonic a little. Ness quickly walks over to assist him. Lucas thanks him but refuses. "Well?"
"I'm with you Lucas, let's take it out!" Sonic exclaims while raising a fist.
"Well I gotta make sure you don't get into trouble again, since you have knack for it when I'm not around," Ness says with a smirk as he tussles Lucas's hair.
"Well we just keep doing crazy stuff it seems," Wolf says even as he reloads his blaster and holds it at ready.
"Eh, what's one more insane act that might get us killed today," Lucario said rather loftily.
"Well, we gonna fight this thing or what?" Gannon demanded with his arms crossed. Bowser begins crackle his knuckles with a smirk on his face.
"Ha, the boys back home will never believe this," Pit said spinning his bow in one hand.
"I'm way out of my league here…" Snake groaned.
"Hey, all I got is a sword, shield, and few items. I can challenge a god with anything I have either!" Toon Link exclaims.
"It's not what you have, but how you use it," Zelda informs.
"INITIAL PEP TALK HAS BEEN INITIATED. SYSTEM WARMING UP, PREPARING TO CONFONT THE FINAL ENEMY IN 5…" The group all steel themselves weapons pointed and fist rose taking their personal fighting positions. "4," The beast notices them. "3," The beast howls down at the group. "2," The group didn't even flinch as the beast stares them down while also slamming its paw down shaking the ground. "1,"
"GO!" they all exclaim rushing forward followed by a bright light.
