A/N: Sorry for the late update! This chapter is hella long and I wrote it on my phone so it's a little rushed and not very well thought through. ANyways please excuse any horrible mistakes I didn't catch while writing this. I hope it doesn't annoy you! I'm working some personal issues so review responses will be quick and then the chapter is yours! ENJOOOOYYY. I love all the arguments...but you'll see X3

I don't own invader Zim but guess what guys, you don't own DMD or any characters in it! Guess who does? IIIII DO, so NO TAKING OR I WILL KILL. ALl OC's of course go to their respective owners though. Those guys aren't mine. Such as Lexy, minerva, Sol, Reth, Valenth...Am I missing anyone?

Review responses.

Zagr loves: Yeah tons of people like tab too! Is there a specific reason or is she just chill with you XD. And sorry it's taken so long! I know it's over 7 days but i digress X3. I'm glad to hear from you again and I hope you keep reviewing! I love reading them! Do you like a certain tab pairing? Such as Jax and Tab over Liao and Tab? Or vice versa?

IR: OMG I MISSED YOU HUMAN. Anyways, I shall get better for you and I hope you enjoy this chapter as many more 'goodies' are to come along with it. MUHAHAHA. I'm so evil. I always leave things a cliff hanger or an awkward ending but again I digress, so ENJOY LOVELY! Hope to hear from you soon!

TreeFroggies77: ;A; I love you man! -Sniffles-BEAR HUGS. And yes...Vex did shoot Axel, tis sad i know...but DRAMATIC :D. I'm glad you liked the death anyways. I was actually planning a different death for Axel but when Sol's POV came along and the whole Liao deal etc etc I just decided this way would be much better. Plus Vex's grief scene was pretty dang emotional. I cried writing it. I don't like making my babies hurt XD. SO MANY FEELS OMFG. Don't cry all night long though! That'd be horrible! And yes, Liao has grown on me as well so I was all teary eyed when writing that part. And the emotional thing with Lexy in Liao's head was even worse for me. Notice how it was Lexy he was thinking of, not tab XD. HE LOVES YOU. SO MANY HORRORS in the lives of Zim and Cari. Will their relaionship ever be repaired? Will a hate form instead of a close bond? Will one move on and the other hold back? So many questions and so little time. READ AND FIND OUT. I LOVE YOU MAN.

Last two at bottom. PLEASE R AND R MAN!

LOVE YOU ALL~ Cari

Chapter 32

Narrator's POV.

Bright screens flashed past her eyes as she scanned over the memories floating around her.

It was so confusing. Irkens pasts were something to be heard of but at the same time it didn't make sense. So for the time being she had decided to work through other parts of history that Moon was keeping here away from the world.

He'd left to tend to a problem not long ago, telling her that she may explore the Irken's past as she pleased. She'd stayed on the normal past for a little while before quickly becoming confused and deciding to try something else.

"Computer," she ordered softly, "please give me options to other files." The computer said nothing but buzzed as plenty of files flashed on the screen before her eyes.

Most of them didn't catch her eye until they fell upon one that made her curiosity spark. 'My past.' Now that was interesting. Moons past? Who knows what that kind of file would hold, "hmm...well he is an Irken, and he DID say I could explore the Irken's history...hmm..."

Her claw gently traced the button before she decided to click it, making other files pop up, separating his life into periods.

Only one caught her attention in the first list. It was called 'my personal hell.' She quickly clicked that as a few various videos popped up.

The first one was the shortest, so she clicked on it first, leaning back as it loaded and started playing.

Moon was just a young kid, probably not over 220. He looked happy and his eyes were different, which caught her attention. They seemed bigger and friendlier. He was working with some Vortarians and other Irkens, shaking hands and smiling which he hardly ever does now. They were speaking to each other about a new device that would change the world catastrophically. It was Moon's invention and he was proudly describing its features and what it could do. Of course since he was alive in a time of war, it was a weapon. A machine so large that it could raise a whole armada. It was in fact the massive but just in its earlier stages.

The video ended and the next one started immediately. It was a daily routine, though today was clearly wrong. The camera was met with Moon's friendly eyes again as he got ready and walked into an extended room. When he came back he was carrying a small bundle of something in his arms. And it wasn't until the bundle started squirming did she realize it was Jax.

Her eyes widened as Moon exited his room with Jax and walked down long halls, stopping when he entered a large room filled with Vortarians. They didn't look very friendly at the moment. This was a moment when Moon's eyes changed.

They turned into one of confusion, "Computer pause it." She commanded as the computer did so. She stared for a long moment before grabbing a pencil and paper to draw what his eyes looked like before and after, nicely asking for the computer to continue.

There was a large exchange of angry words before a larger Vortarian came in and ripped Jax out of Moon's arms. Moon was grabbed by other scientists as he struggled and shouted at them.

Her eyes widened again, "This must be when he was taken for Ransom." The tape moved along through non important parts before it zoomed in on Moon being drug out, nearly beaten to death and bleeding from a cell by the vortarians. He was brought to an experimentation room where he was forced to watch as they did something in a hidden room. His mouth formed silent words as he cried out to whatever was getting experimented on. But the video had no sound to prove any of her assumptions.

She paused again, drawing the complete terror in his eyes. "What's happening to you?" She mumbled to herself, "computer, analyze this situation."

"Is it not simple? Moon is being forced to watch as they cut into and experiment on Jax." The computer answered making her breath catch in her throat.

"What..."

"He had to watch as they cut into his clone. No painkillers, no nothing." Computer answered again as her eyes watered a little bit.

"That's horrible..."

"It gets worse..."

She quickly drew his eyes before asking it to play again. Step by step it went through his hell. It showed them hurting Jax in front of him, hurting him as well. He begged for Jax's release at one point but they didn't give it to him as they cut apart Jax's antenna into what they are today. Moons eyes were dark and narrowed now, so she drew them again.

Then there was the part when Moon was forcibly demanding Jax's release. He was mad now and aggressive but he still didn't get his way, "Computer stop," she finally whispered, watching as they grabbed Moons antenna and slashed one straight up. Moon cried out silently in the video, flailing and lashing out at his attackers but he was punished for the outburst instead. They shot all the Irken scientist captives in front of him, making him watch the life drain from their eyes. The video flicked with vague pictures of Moon looking down at himself, covered in blood, with emptiness in his eyes. His now torn and shredded lab coat was dark red with the blood of his colleagues as he fell to his knees by their mutilated bodies; hands dipping into their warm fresh blood, scaring him for life.

"Would you like to go on?" Computer asked.

"I-I don't know if I can...

"If you want to know, he just blows up the base after this."

"Show me a picture of his eyes. Now. The last picture you have of them," she demanded, leaning in and staring with labored breathing.

"Ma'am the last good picture of his eyes we have is graphic. Are you sure you want to see it?"

"Yes," she said immediately. A picture flashed before her eyes making her nearly gag.
He was chained up against a wall, the chains chaffing his skin and bruising it. He was bleeding everywhere and barley clothed, just glaring hatefully at the camera. His eyes were hollow and narrowed, 'just as they are now...' She thought while looking at all the bloody claw marks on the wall, and the tears that were streaming down his cheeks blankly. It frightened her.

"Take it away." She whispered hoarsely, drawing the last pair of eyes before looking away again. She went through the flow chart of eyes, noticing the differences and how much he was changed in that period of time, "This was no personal hell," she muttered, "this was the steps leading to his insanity." 'Moons insanity' she labeled the drawing, startled at how accurate it was.

She stared at the pictures flashing by again before she heard the hiss of the doors opening, then a very angry voice coming after, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!" She jumped at the loud noise and spun around, seeing him fuming mad, staring at her with those angry eyes.

"Looking into your past."

"I did not give you permission to do so! This is not a part of the Irkens' history! This is personal files of my life!" She cringed at how angry he sounded, making her slightly nervous.

"I was bored and curious," she glared back as he stormed over to her and shut down the computer system.

He then grabbed her collar and shoved her against the monitor, hovering over her with a threatening look in his eyes, "If you ever want to see your lover alive again I suggest you stay the fuck out of my personal files." His voice was chillingly calm, making her even less confident as she stared at him.

"What really happened?"

"None of your damn business!"

"Moon tell me, please."

"NO!" He snarled, back handing her and making her fall to the floor, holding her burning cheek with a hiss of pain.

"You did care about Jax. You were a good person Moon, the Vortarians changed you. I saw it, I saw it all."

"What you saw barley describes what I lived through that year. Did you see the graphic pictures of Jax being slowly cut open without pain killers, did you see the blood spurting out of his wounds as he screamed for me, did you see the life leaving his eyes as they resuscitated him for the fourth time that day?" He spat, standing over her with a look of death present on his face.

"No..."

"Then you know nothing of my personal hell."

"I know enough. They took you away from who you were, they killed you on the inside."

"They did more than kill my hope," he hissed, leaving her to walk to the other side of the room and sit down, "They took everything from me. My title, my brother, my life! I had no one. Not even my own race to back me up! I could've saved this world! I could've done anything but it didn't work like that! They took all the technology from me and named it as their own, selling it to my own betrayers and acting as if it was all their genius going into my projects. Nothing was mine anymore."

"Moon I want to see what happened to Jax," she said calmly, feeling guilty almost.

Moons eyes narrowed and his lips pinched into a thin line, "No," his voice was calm, but it held murder in it.

"Yes, I don't think you should have to face this alone."

"Maybe I WANT to face it alone!" Moon snarled back, digging his claws into the chair. It was a surprise he hadn't attacked her yet but he did have a tiny soft spot for her and he hated it.

"Why would you!"

"Because you pathetic whelp, it is not your business, not your past and not your fucking problem. So do me a favor and leave, I will contact you when I desire your presence again."

"Just let me see, you don't even have to be in the room I just want to see! There's something I need to know and I can only confirm it if I watch what happened!"

"You're sick!" Moon snapped, "That is a child being physically ripped apart and not the easy way!"

"Moon..."

He growled and snapped his fingers making the question pop up onto the screen again. She froze as he threatened to click the button, his claw so close to the accept button that she almost panicked that he was actually going through with it.

"No, I-I'll leave!" She cried out, fear pooling in her eyes.

"Oh no, not anymore." He hissed, reaching into his frontal pockets and pulling out a test tube with a bright blue liquid in it. She stared at him in confusion before he stood up and calmly started explaining, "Do you know what this is?"

"No...Master." She said back hesitantly.

"It is a mix of various chemicals and blood from a person who cannot get infected."
She stayed silent while letting his words chill her to the bone.

"This is the only thing that can cure your lover at this point. Seeing as I don't click the accept button of course. Do you want this?"

"More than anything," she whimpered.

He smiled a little bit before calmly letting it go, not breaking eye contact with her as she screamed and lunged for it. He of course stepped forwards and held her back, making her watch as the test tube shattered and the chemical bubbled, dissolving on the ground.

"No! You monster!" She snapped feeling her anger well as she struggled and slashed her claws harshly against his face. He didn't even flinch. She stopped and stood panting upon realizing what she had done.

"How does it feel," he hissed quietly, wiping the blood away on his arm, "to see what you thought was your last hope shatter before your eyes?"

"..." She said nothing as she stared at him; only looking away when she decided to respond, "Bad."

"Precisely," he growled back, grabbing her wrist and forcing her against a wall, "Do you understand the only thing holding me back from having my way with you?"

Her eyes flickered in fear again, "No, master."

He smirked a little, "Good," the word ghosted across her lips as he leaned in close and brushed his lips against hers. It was about to go forward when the door opened to moons room, making him growl and release her. "What now!" He snapped, turning around to see Jax standing and staring.

"What's she doing here?"

"Finding her place. And what are you doing here?"

"It's time for our daily meeting." Jax said stiffly. Watching her with reluctant eyes as his antenna lowered a little bit.

"Can it not wait five minutes?" Moon growled, glancing back towards his 'mistress.'

"No, we've got big news."

Moon grumbled to himself for a second before turning back to his mistress, "You're dismissed."
She glared hard at him before slowly exiting the room, but not the base. "Speak."

"The Tallest are finding and gathering survivors, they're starting an uprising against the whole operation. It could be in jeopardy."

"This is big news, how much of Irk has broken down now?"

"We still need to conquer the more guarded side of irk. But I don't understand why we don't just leave. Irk will fall and no one can stop us, so why don't we carry out with our plans and travel the universe?"

"Have you ever seen TV idiot?" Moon sighed, face palming a couple times. Jax gave him a look, "In any story with a problem and a 'hero' the villain leaves, thinking his plan is going to work then looking astonished when it doesn't. What was the key point in that sentence?"

"He left and the plan didn't work," Jax said calmly, still not fully understanding.

"If we left, the uprising you just mentioned would probably happen and our plan would fail. Now why won't we do that thick headed brother of mine?"

"Because we want to promote success within the operation," Jax shrugged, tapping his claws on the desk, "Why did you have her in here?"

Moon gave him a look this time, "Because I wished to. Why did you want her or something?"

"You do realize she's a conniving evil little bitch right? Any information she gets from you, she'll use against you and somehow warn her mate whom will probably attempt to kill you."

"That's your kind of slave brother dear," he spat the word, glaring at Jax, "She knows her place as of now and will do what I say if she wants her lover to live. Any attempt to disobey me and I can kill her entire world and family with the click of a button."

"I don't believe that," Jax scoffed, rolling his eyes for a second.

"Fine, Tom!" Tom came in not seconds later looking a little less than confident.

"Sir?"

"Bring her back in." Moon said, his glare not breaking away from Jax's eyes for a second.

"Sir...?"

"Do as I say." Tom left without another word and about another minute later she was shoved through the doors. She brushed herself off and coolly walked up to Moon, not wanting to give him the upper hand in anything.

"What?" Moon gave her a look and held his hand up to snap his claws together, "Yes master?" She quickly corrected herself, looking away.

Moon grabbed her, making her gasp a little bit when he shoved her into Jax, causing him to jump in shock a little bit, "Tell Jax about your job here."

"Which one?" She grumbled, shoving Jax away from herself with a harsh glare.

"The part he'll like."

She growled and lowered her antenna, glaring at Jax before continuing, "I have to go get your prize."

"My prize?" Jax scoffed, glaring at her, "You know I thought you were a little dull before but NOW, you just take the cake with stupidity every time I see you."

"Asshole," She spat back, making Moon smirk a little bit.

"Bitch," He snapped back, sizing her up with not only his height but also his antenna and eyes.

"Ass kisser, need me to get you some birth control pills? Or can you stop fucking your slave for five minutes to kiss your big brother's ass?"

"Why would I need birth control, not like you women are good for anything but having children anyways."

"How about I shove your dick up your own ass? Would that be nice for you? Or must you have someone else do it for you?"

"Funny, I was about to ask the same thing to you," He hissed, baring his teeth at her, "How's that lover of yours doing? Still trying to get into your pants?"

"He's a lot better than you, you cock sucking fat ass."

"Oh honey, I'm not the person who gives the blow jobs here. Or should I clarify that for you?"

"Rot in hell."

"Whore."

"Man whore."

"OKAY, enough! I told you to tell him your job, not list off his features!" Moon snapped, twitching his antenna impatiently.

"Oh see, even your big bro agrees with me, the measly little slave."

"Maybe that's because you 'cleaned his floors' for him last night." Jax snapped back.

"That wasn't me darling, but I heard you were not in your room most of last night, makes a girl wonder."

"How about you wonder how you're going to get shot through the face if you keep acting out?"

"Oh god please, spare me the idiocy of talking to you."

"Stupid little bitch, you're all bark no bite."

"Wanna bet?"

Moon sighed and pulled up the question again, these two were like children, honestly, "Get on with it or your lover dies."

She glared at him for a moment before bringing her attention back to Jax, "I have to wonderful pleasure of getting Tabitha for you. Since of course you're a stupid pussy who can't seem to figure it out himself."

Once again Moon sighed; this was going to be a long couple of hours.

Zim's POV.

Sol, Mia, Jeb, Riley, Minerva, Angel and I all made it out of the walker attack alive, with Oniumare dragging and unconscious Vex out, still clutching a bloody baseball bat.

I personally felt like hell but that wasn't what I was worried about, "where is she?" I asked weakly, letting Sol set me down and start examining my eyes. "Sol where is she!?"

"Who Zim!" He asked back, staring at me with a worried look.

I failed to answer him as I used the last of my strength to push him away, get up and take a few steps back towards the burning building, "Cari!" I shouted, feeling my stomach churn a little bit, "Cari where are you!?"

I heard worried gasps behind me as my antenna started trembling, "We have to go back!" I shouted to them, my eyes widening as I started uncontrollably pacing, though it hurt to do so. "She's still in there!"

"Zim its ok calm down," Oniumare said softly, reaching out towards me.

"Don't you fucking tell me to calm down! She's still in there! My mate is still in there!" I snarled back, shrinking away from her hand and pacing more. I knew I wasn't strong enough to go back in and look, something was seriously wrong with me and I needed help. But the love of my life is still in there somewhere! "Sol! You have to find her!"

"Zim, listen to me," Sol said, walking up to me and grabbing my arms. It was a lot more painful than I thought it would be to look him in the eye and accept the truth.

"No! Shut up I don't care what you think! She's still in there, we have to save her!"

"Didn't she leave you?" Oni asked making everyone go quite, including me before something in my head snapped.

"I still love her! And just because she's scared doesn't mean she's automatically on my 'oh I don't care if you live or die list!' That is MY mate and I searched for 100 FUCKING years for her! Don't you dare tell me that just because we're going through a hard time right now that I shouldn't care if she lives or dies! Or if she cares or doesn't! She's a life and one that I care about more than my own! I want to help her!"

"Zim! Calm down and listen!" Sol snapped, grabbing me as I cried out in pain and struggled against him, "She went out on a run this morning, hasn't been back since. We all know the consequences of letting loved ones go, Areo's missing too. But you must have faith and calm down. We need to-" he was cut off when all our PAKS started buzzing.

"Hello this is the tallest, if you're getting this then you still have a functioning PAK. We are calling back all soldiers and elites whom are left alive. I repeat we are calling back all soldiers and elites who are still alive. You have been drafted for war and will be picked up according to your PAK signatures. This includes all pilots, elites, guards, invaders, etc. etc. pick up times start as early as Monday. It's Saturday now, be prepared for war."

I stopped struggling at this point, because instead of agony a new emotion was replacing it.

I felt everyone's eyes on me and I knew what I'd heard was true. "I'm being drafted..."

"No you're not, we need you here," Sol snapped back, starting to get anxious himself as he glanced around for any signs of increasing danger.

Silence fell through the group as a heavy coat of dread started weighing me down. "I'm an invader..."

"Were! You were an invader! You're not anymore!" Minerva cried out, making me physically cringe. It was still a sensitive topic.

"Do you think they care? I am a soldier, cannon fodder..."

"Shut up Zim!" Riley snapped glaring at him, "that means Vex has to go too! You're not alone!"

"Do you think Vex can right now?" I muttered, falling to my knees and shivering from the cold.

"Oh and you think you can!" Sol snapped, dropping in front of me and grabbing my shoulders, "You're dying Zim! Throwing up blood is NOT good; it means you have internal bleeding which means your PAK isn't healing your previous walker injuries. Do you understand what that means Zim!?"

I looked up at him, my stare steady as the rain started pounding down on the world, "if I know what it means that I might as well give it up for my planet anyways shouldn't I? To give you guys a chance? To let you live another day? Isn't that what you want?"

Now it was real silence. No one, not even Sol knew what to say. He just started gnawing on his longer antenna, fidgeting uncomfortably.

"I am a soldier and its time I live up to my title."

"Shut up!" Another voice snapped, I looked over to see Mia standing there, shaking, "You shut up! Both of you! All of you! You can't go Zim; you're sick and needed here! Sol he isn't dying! He's SICK, there's a difference! And the rest of you!" She snapped, "if he's SICK and willing to DIE for you! Why are you not willing to do the same! Why don't we all go and serve our planet?! Explain to me that!"

"It's not our place," someone muttered, "were not soldiers," Oniumare continued, "were just trying to survive," Riley concluded.

More silence.

"Then that's it? You can live with Zim's blood on your hands?"

"I don't see you offering help," Riley growled making sol go on the defensive.

"She's blind!" Sol snapped, glaring daggers at Riley, "what's your excuse!?"

"Guys! Guys what's going on?" Another voice shouted, I snapped my head to the side to see Cari with a duffel full of supplies running towards us. She didn't even look wet...that's suspicious.

She ran to Mia and Minerva first, checking them and making sure they were ok before moving along the line and stopping to just stare at me. It was a stare that I didn't want to return, but I couldn't break.

"The Tallest have just called back all soldiers," Sol whispered quietly.

"I heard the message, but that means we're ok, none of us HAVE to go."

"I do," I said, studying her reaction as I continued, "not that you care though."

"You're not an invader anymore!" She snapped, giving me a cold glare.

I stood up, drenched and hurt as I stared at her, "I'm a soldier and I am willing to give my life for my race."

Her pupils shrunk as she continued to not break my stare, "soldier?" She scoffed, taking a step forward, "you are nothing but an Irken now Zim. We're technically wanted and on the waiting list for the death penalty. You go and you'll die."

"It's not like I'm not going to die anyways," I growled back, "at least I'll have honor when I die."

"Are you suggesting I won't?" Cari challenged back. The group was silent from the tension. And said tension was so thick that you could cut it with a knife.

"The only thing I'm suggesting," I hissed, taking a step towards her, "is that you live up to your words and stop worrying about me. This is my choice, not your decision. So stop telling me what I already know."

She clenched her fists while taking the blow calmly, "You. Will. Die. If. You. Go."

"And I'll die if I don't."

"How do you know that? You know maybe some higher power is watching over you, trying to save your ass! Ever think of that one? How do you think you've even lasted this long Zim? Honestly?"

"I had a shoulder to lean on," I snapped back, "and there is no higher power here. It's just you, me and everyone else praying for just one more day to live through this hell!"

"If we stay together we can survive! Stop trying to be the hero Zim! You're NOT a hero!"

"I NEVER tried to be the hero! I have always been the villain! If you want a fake hero go to earth and talk to a kid named Dib! I was evil Cari! I'm just like Moon is now, but I wasn't destroying my own race! I was only ever 'good' while being around you!"

"Oh because you know I'd kick your ass!? You're not on earth anymore Zim, wake up and smell the coffee! This is reality and whatever fantasy you came up with just now is not appropriate for the situation we are in!"

"That was no fantasy!" I yelled back, "I lived 100 years on my own, seen as defective by my own race, made fun of everyday for YOU!"

"No you went insane!" Cari shouted back, antenna flattening.

"Insanity is not a word I'd use to describe why I wasn't in the right mind at that point!"

"Oh ok so then you were just being an idiot!" She challenged, making me even angrier.

"It's because of you my life went to hell! And did I ever complain? No! I didn't because I thought you were worth it!"

"You're life went to hell by choice! You didn't have to come back and meet me every night outside the watch of Vex, Zim! You didn't have to kiss back! You didn't have to tell me you loved me!"

"And neither did you!" I snapped, blushing a little bit at the memories, "you didn't have to run away from the palace and ram into me at that store!"

"You didn't have to be at that store!"

"I was preparing for my invader test! I needed to think and leave the bunkers for an hour; I didn't expect my life to go to hell that night! But you know what Cari? That's ok, because it doesn't matter anymore. You hate me and frankly, I'm not exactly happy with you either. I am going to serve my planet like I was rightfully supposed to do before you stepped into the equation."

"You can't go!" She took another step forwards, jabbing a claw into my chest.

"How are you going to stop me?" I hissed back quiet enough for everyone to hear, but also to get my point across to her.

We were literally antenna to Antenna now. So close that I could feel her frustrated breath on my face as her cheeks grew dark green in anger, "that's the thing with you Cari. You've always been a step ahead of everyone, always had some alternate plan for everything and now that you don't, you don't know what to do. At least you know how the rest of us feel now."

"How dare you." She spat.

"How dare I? How dare YOU." I snapped back, glaring angrily at her, "You were my everything! I did everything and anything for you! I gave up everything for YOU! And what did you give up for me? Hardly anything that's what."

"I gave up royalty for you."

"Tabitha gave up your royalty for you, you didn't run away by choice," I growled back.

"I gave up my life as a human for you, I have given up everything as well."

"Oh really? Then name them! What have you given up for someone you said you loved so much! Then dumped them in their time of need!"

"I have given up," she paused, letting her eyes well with tears in front of everyone, "my freedom, for you." Her mouth shut quickly after and her PAK blinked, making her cringe.

"What was that?" I said, looking at her PAK again, "I don't think I understood you."

"You know, sometimes I wonder how I even fell in love with you Zim. You can be a real ass sometimes."

"Then that makes two of us," I growled back, though my heart sunk in defeat. She was physically crying now, but trying hard to hide it. I didn't like making her feel this way. And I wanted nothing more than to wrap my arms around her and tell her I'm sorry right now. But I can't. And it's time she knows it.

"Ok that's enough," Sol snapped, coming in between us and pushing me back.

"Stay out of this!" I spat at him, pushing my antenna forward in an aggressive way.

"Now is not the time to destroy each other!" He snapped back, grabbing my collar and jolting me towards him "grow a fucking pair Zim. You have bigger issues than yourself right now! As do you Cari! This planet no longer revolves around your pathetic love story. Grow up you two! I feel like I'm dealing with stupid teenagers at this point!"

"Sol!" Mia snapped.

"Not now Mia!" Sol yelled back, making her antenna flatten angrily.

"Fine," I hissed, plucking his hand off of me and backing up, "I'm leaving."

"What?" Sol said in slight shock.

"If you all think I'm the problem then I'll leave. I have no problem surviving on my own. Hell I did it the whole time I was stranded on earth. I am going to serve my planet. Good luck." My antenna shook with emotion as I held my stomach in agony. I was really hoping the medics on the massive could help me there.

"You can't," I heard Cari sob, but I ignored her. She put this on herself. I was madly in love with her and then she just...she just dumped me. And for what, nothing that's what.

"Please don't go," Minerva whispered near me.

"Then stop me," I growled at her as lightning cracked across the sky.

Holding my stomach and my items, I walked away, for good.

Narrators POV.

Liao's finger was pulling the trigger when he felt a sudden jolt. The last bullet he had flew off and ricocheted off a nearby building.

A silent scream flew out of his throat as he was drug underground and slammed into the ground below.

A hand covered slapped over his mouth as he made a desperate attempt to get away, thinking that he was being torn apart by walkers.

"Stop struggling you idiot!" Liao kept freaking out until he opened his eyes to see another pair of eyes staring down into his.

Well...at least they weren't dead. His hyperventilating calmed down a little bit as he took in gasps of air.
'Im not dead. Holy shit I'm not dead?' He thought, shoving the other persons arm off, "who the hell are you?"

"That's a nice way to thank your savior," the person said back, glaring at Liao with dark red eyes.

"Well when you drag me underground then yes! I'm going to be a little pissy!"

"Lovely, what's your name and occupation?"

Liao stared at him like he was an idiot. It's the zombie apocalypse and he wants to know what job he had? "Uhh Liao, and no occupation as of now when the worlds in chaos..."

The male nodded with a bit of a chuckle before sticking his hand out towards him, "Legacy."

"Legacy?" Liao nearly scoffed, what a strange name, "nice name."

"Yeah you too. You haven't happened to see a young lady that's sticking to the shadows have you?"

'This guy's insane,' Liao thought as his antenna lowered a little bit. His heart was still slamming around in his chest and he was still highly alert, jumping a little bit at every little noise. "Umm no there's only dead people up there. Uhh how long have you been down here?"

"Not long, Shadow tends to hide when she gets scared and then I'm left to find her so that's what I was doing when I heard you."

"Shadow?" Liao mumbled, looking at him in slight worry, "whose shadow?"

"My wife, she's been missing for about an hour now and last I saw her she was heading for the tunnels."

"Tunnels?"

"Yeah, we have a whole community down here. We're waiting for the tallest to save us."

"Your loyalists then?"

"Of course; they are our leaders aren't they? ...Ok no, I can't keep up a nice guy act for so long. Look, Im a rebel, my wife doesn't even know who the tallest are, she's been in the dark all her life and you shouldn't be here. You've brought all the walkers around so now I can't go get food for our dinner tonight."

Liao stared at him again. He was weird...but like able and a little flighty.

"Uhh sorry? So do you or do you not have a community down here and a missing wife?"

"No those are true, Shadow will come out eventually but the community is out right now. I can take you back if you like."

"I have to get back to my own family, see I have a duffle and-" he turned and saw it wasn't anywhere near him, making a look of utter defeat become apparent on his face, "had I guess," he sighed and looked back up into legacy's eyes, "lead the way."

Legacy smiled a little bit before turning around in the crammed tunnel and zipping back down leaving Liao to try to keep up.

As they moved the tunnels became bigger until they were physically standing and walking swiftly. "We're almost there," legacy mumbled.

Liao grunted in response as they emerged in a dark area that was unnaturally large and cold, "and where exactly are we?"

"Under the council room where this all started. But were safe down here." Legacy shrugged, glancing around and smiling, "there's Shadow!"

"What're you talking about; I can hardly see my hand!"

"I can see in the dark, you'll probably learn to as well. But for now I'll introduce you to my wife, Shadow."

Liao felt his head spin a little bit, he didn't know which way was up or down, he couldn't see, he was confused and life at the moment was just a living hell for him.

"Shadow come quickly! We have a newcomer!" Legacy said excitedly. This is also when Liao heard another more feminine voice that sounded a little wary.

"A...new comer?" Liao heard movement and focused in hard to try to find where it was coming from.

"Yes, I drug him down before he was killed! Where is fez?"

"Legacy we've talked about this. Some people are just meant to die, it's in their destinies."

"Gee thanks," Liao grumbled, flattening his antenna on his head.

He heard Legacy laugh a little before some whispers were exchanged between them, then some giggles and all went silent again. "Ok, come Liao I'll show you to the houses." Now Liao was really confused. Was this a trap? Was he being accepted or not? Could these people not just give him a straight up answer?

Silent Liao followed legacy by the sound of his movement, coming up upon a large mass. "This is where you can stay until we settle some things," legacy said. Liao wanted to smile but he didn't know what or who he was smiling at so he was initially shocked when a bright light flashed, blinding him. It was a torch that lit half the giant cave!

"What the-?" Liao asked, shielding his eyes with his arm. He blinked a couple of times before readjusting to the light and getting a good look around.

To be black and white, the place looked like a giant ant hill on the inside. There were carved out house areas and mineral water bathing areas. It was astonishing. "We light this once a day for six hours, so enjoy our version of daytime while you can," legacy said, catching Liao's attention for a long enough time to get a good look at him.

He had dark red eyes and a red long sleeved button up shirt. He was also wearing normal regulation pants by with a shiny almost navy blue belt. He looked friendly, and was smiling but at the same time it was still sketchy to Liao. Legacy's antenna had no ends; they literally just ended as long little stalks, but still held all varieties of emotion to them. "Yeah...thanks. It's nice to actually see my savior." The men shook hands quickly before Liao's attention was directed towards a middle height female, standing kind of behind legacy and looking down to not make eye contact.

"This is my wife, shadow. A bit easier to see her now huh?" Legacy smiled, wrapping his arm around shadow and tugging her closer to him.

She looked normal, long sleeved black sweater, dark navy blue eyes, black sweats and bent antenna, but she was pretty. She also had a very swollen stomach, indicating the obvious that she was pregnant. The only thing that stood out on her was the dark red necklace and arm bracelet that shone like blood in the light, "nice to meet you Mrs. Shadow." Liao said, smiling politely at her while twitching his antenna. He was uncomfortable but didn't want to admit it.

She nodded a little and hid in Legacy's chest making him smile a little bit and rub circles in her back. "So Liao, where do you come from?"

"The woods, just a few miles from here. I need to get back, I have my baby sister there with her friend and Tabitha but she needs the duffle because she-"

"Slow down there tiger!" Legacy laughed, "I just needed to know where you're from. Now come you must be famished."

"That's nice an' all but I really gotta get back to my family," Liao spluttered, he wanted his family not food from nice people.

Legacy sighed a little bit before nodding silently, "You'll need your duffle won't you?"

"If I can get to it, then yes," he responded, staring at the ground.

"Alright, I'll go get it and be back soon. Make yourself comfortable for the time being. These ruins have been underground for centuries so it's a little old fashioned, but nice. You'll have the house all to yourself." Legacy said, staring up at the massive structure in awe. He then looked back down to Shadow and smirked a little bit. "Miss me?"

She nodded silently and grabbed his hand tightly, "good, I missed you too. I'll be back in a flash ok?" She nodded silently again as he lent down and pecked her lips a couple times, pulling away and winking at her before zipping off into the tunnels. Leaving Liao there alone, confused and a little frightened.

A/N: YAY FOR SUCKY ENDINGS! Anyways yes, I love Legacy, I made him a while back and Shadow was just a thought that I decided to make a reality. For all of you wondering, Legacy is actually a history teacher, so he's always in kind of a good humor etc etc. My dad was a history teacher so that's why I compared their personalities and decided on who Legacy should be. So many choices! So yes, Zim's leaving for war? Jax gets in graphic arguments with Moon's 'mistress?' Someones gonna die!? OH NOES.

But once more I digress. R AND R PLease. Also tell me what you think of Shadow and legacy, they won't be in the story for TOO long, I don't think but they we're needed for obviously Liao's rescue. ;3.

FritterCritter: I KNOW. CRAP IS GOING WAYYYY DOWN! Yes so much dead, so much BLOOD and so many EXPLODING things! So wonderful! Teen angst for the win! We all need a little blood and gore in our lives don't you think! LOL. Sorry Val and Reth weren't seen much here. I imagined the scene as they were still a little uncomfortable with interupting the arguments, not thinking it's the right time and yada yada. But there will be more of them! I promise! LOVE YOU MAN.

Zagr Loves again ;D: I know it's taken forever! But I hope it was worth it! And it was extra long jus for youS!
