A/N: Hi everyone! I'm back. Cancer free, all tests came back negative and things are feeling great for now. Schools about to start lC which sucks but hey at least I'm actually doing something productive other than sitting around the house drawing like a fool...
Oh and I wanted to say this: I have a deviant. invadercari that's me :3. I'm thinkiing I might post the next book on there and hopefully keep it more to the point then go off track with fun chapters or unnecessary plot twist. What do you guys think? I also really like drawing, if you like it, watch me, fav some stuff, chat me any time. It's fun and since I got sai I've gone crazy with wanting to draw and getting much much better at it. So yeah, deviant art, invader cari, next book. On there? Should I? Should I not? You tell me.
This chapter is in the past. Back at the ball. It's what really happened that night, in Jax's POV that is.
Please enjoy and please review. I'll finish this book up soon, I promise.

Narrator's POV.
Jax was feeling nervous all over. He wasn't all that comfortable with people looking at Tabitha the way they were in her beautiful black dress and tonight was the night. It would either make him or break him. For a while he felt that maybe it was too early to try but he was just so worried about losing everything. He just wanted to make things official to be honest. In a sense to know where loyalties truly lye.
"Jax," His antenna perked upon hearing her voice. He hadn't realized he was zoning out again.
"Hmm?" He answered, looking at her tiredly. They'd been here for hours and the ball wasn't showing signs of letting up. He really just wanted to go home and lay down at this point.
"You zoned out again," Tabitha muttered, blushing slightly. She hadn't expected such a quick response from him. He felt slightly bad that she didn't have all this attention but with so many people surrounding them and the constant pressure of his brother breathing down his back lately, he'd just...been distracted.
"Sorry Tabitha," He murmured back, lacing his claws with hers and gently squeezing her hand, "I'm just really tired. You wore me out last night and today, I mainly just want to get home and sleep." He set his chin atop her head and sighed, disconnecting their hands to wrap his arms around her.
"I know, but we still haven't found Vex yet…" She said calmly, joining in the gentle embrace and wrapping her arms back around him, "I'm worried about them."
"It's Vex, what's there to be worried about?" Jax joked groggily, sliding his hands down and massaging her hip for comfort, "He'll be fine, I promise you that."
"Yeah…I suppose you're right; but I can't stop wondering where they are. They should've found us by now. I want to get out of here as soon as possible."
"Mmm me too," He purred, smirking slightly and tracing his claws down her zipper line, "For more reasons than one." She shot him a glare and gently elbowed him, making him snicker immaturely.
"First of all, we're going home, not to a hotel where we can be alone and secondly…just no."
"Aw come on now," He purred again, nuzzling the side of her head, "Don't act like you don't enjoy my teasing." He wanted to say something else, but he still couldn't build up the courage to do it. Hell he wanted to just…just say something that sounded right, not teasing and not playful but hinting so it wouldn't be as nerve racking. But no solutions came to him and he was left once again in awkward silence.
They were silent for quite some time until Tab made herself comfortable resting her head against his chest, whispering, "Thanks for being there for me Jax." He felt his heart jump slightly. He felt that if any time could be the best time to do it, it was now. But as he pulled away to look at her, he couldn't form the right words. This was his first long lasting girlfriend and to try to say something that would change their lives forever was just down right terrifying. "What?" Tabitha asked, smiling gently at his dropped jaw.
Her question brought him back to reality and he quickly thought of something else to say, something that sounded more fitting for their life now; something that he was more than comfortable telling her, "I love you so much." 'And I always want to be there for you so…'
No, the words still didn't sound right, not even in his head, 'Is it getting hot in here or is it just me?' He pondered nervously. His mind skipped over Tabitha's reply but willingly accepted the quick kiss she gifted him with. At least that made him feel a little more comfortable.
So, liking the action, he kissed her again…and again, and again and again until she was laughing and gently pushing him away, "PDA Jaxy honestly, people are going to start staring."
"Good, let them stare, it just proves to them just how lucky I am," He boasted, though his stomach sank when she rolled her eyes at him, "What it's true!" He whined, giving her puppy dog eyes while trying to calm down and find a way to take his tongue out of the knot it was quickly forming.
He could feel his hands shaking and his heart drumming loudly in his chest, making his head feel light. He'd never been so nervous before and he didn't know how to handle it. So for about the nine hundredth time that day, he reached into his pocket and fiddled the small black box between his claws, trying to internally reassure himself.
Tabitha loved him and he knew it. So why was it so nerve racking to ask her a simple question? 'Because it's not simple that's why.' Jax thought angrily to himself. In fact it was probably the most complicated and important question life could've possibly come up with for him. How was one supposed to find the right words and the right time to present the question? And what would happen if it wasn't taken very well? He didn't want to lose Tabitha over some stupid question, making his heart pound harder against his chest.
Either Tabitha didn't notice the pounding of his heart or did and didn't comment on it. She just continued to snuggle into him and pepper any patch of exposed skin with butterfly kisses. He wanted to enjoy the affection and of course did, but with his mind running circles around itself, it was becoming very hard to think clearly.
Tabitha didn't help with her constant affection. She was now lining his jaw and temple with kisses that made his mind come to a screeching halt. "Wow you really are needy tonight aren't you?" He asked in a joking manner, turning toward her and closing his eyes gently as she sporadically kissed his face everywhere.
"You make me needy, even when you zone out you somehow keep a very sexy look on your face. It is quickly becoming irresistible." She answered, grinning at him as he chuckled and leaned his forehead against hers.
"Ooh should I sweep you off your feet and make a hasty exit to satisfy my lady?" She laughed and socked his arm, shaking her head back and forth, "We can always be immature and find a supply closet if you prefer that."
"As much as I would enjoy that, I think we have a duty here," He groaned loudly and lolled his head back.
"But now you're making me needy," Jax complained, "I just want to snuggle with your lovely little bubble butt." She jumped and blushed when he squeezed her bum but made no move to remove his hand from its explorations.
"You are going to get us noticed," She growled lowly. He just smirked in return and pushed his antenna forward, trying to look sexy so she wouldn't care. Instead she just shook her head and questioned his sanity. He felt much better after that and was confident that Tabitha wanted him as much as he wanted her. So he could ask…
But…that was just the courage to ask a question, where to begin with the wording and the background. Jax was pretty sure a life changing moment shouldn't be induced next to a bunch of inappropriate, dancing Irkens. He wanted it to be perfect and most importantly he wanted it to make a good memory in her mind that would hopefully stay there forever.
"Tabitha," He tried, but his voice gave out, making him choke on his own words. It sounded pitiful coming out of his mouth. And that's when she pulled away with a serious look. Her thumbs were tugging his collar down where she could plainly see the bruises around his neck and he knew he just made a mistake. By saying her name in such a pained way caused her to react in a worried matter and he didn't want her prying about the two jackasses earlier that morning. They were in the past and she couldn't know about them without knowing why he was actually out and about that morning.
This started Tabitha on her questioning about his bruises, which he quickly got defensive about. He wasn't ready to say…not yet! He didn't have the right words ready in his brain so all that seemed liable to say to her was equally as aggressive.
She questioned his honesty and even asked what he wanted from her, making him more nervous and on edge. His hand plunged back into his coat pocket and viciously wrapped around the small box. She was almost forcing the question out of him. And with him just becoming a babbling fool it wasn't starting out all that great.
That's when Jax saw him. He thought at first that his nervous mind was throwing him for a loop but he was wrong. There, watching him from not even twenty feet away was Moon. That's when the pure terror made his throat tighten and his stomach grow cold. Moon knew he was here and Jax knew that Moon had been trying to get him to go along with some outrageous plan again. He wanted no part of it! How many times did he have to state it and fight people about it? He no longer wanted to be involved with his brother, not like this. Not when he was ready to start a new life with Tabitha.
That's when he felt her hand on his arm, shocking him out of his trance from seeing Moon. He jerked away in surprise only to watch helplessly as the box was ripped out of his pocket and plopped with what seemed to him a loud clank on the ground.
Tabitha's eyes instantly went to the box and he lost it. He wasn't ready to ask, he was too shy. And her now slightly surprised look told him that she probably wasn't ready for such a leap in their relationship. "I-I have to go," He spluttered, backing up quickly and turning from her as she called his name. He needed to breathe before apologizing to her and promising to wait for her to bring up the idea of being together forever.
He squirmed out of the crowd of dancing Irkens until he found a calm, quiet hall way. There were very few Irkens in this hall way. And the ones that were there were more than wasted, that was for sure.
He didn't want to be approached by them, but he needed to breathe, even just for a second. Tabitha had probably already picked up the box and saw why he was so nervous around her. That thought made him feel even worse to the point where his stomach was tying itself into knots and bows. How was he supposed to approach her now? What was he going to say if she questioned him about it? He couldn't lie to her, but he didn't exactly know what else to tell her. The truth at this point seemed way too painful to say, let alone think about.
He tried to take his mind off the subject by thinking of the previous night they shared together. However that only made everything seem ten times worse and it made him blush three shades darker. He shouldn't be thinking such thoughts while at a public outing. At home; sure why not, but here? Surrounded by tons of other people? He couldn't afford to be reminiscing at a time like this.
Jax closed his eyes and took a deep breath, working words into his mind that seemed to fit what he wanted to say to her. He wanted her to know the truth about everything. Including about Moon, which Tabitha knew nothing about, she knew Moon from when he threatened to kill her, but had no clue that, that mad man was in fact his brother.
He should just be getting this over with, but he just couldn't. Maybe it would be better for him to find her and take her home before everyone else, so they could have a few hours alone to talk and discuss just how far they were planning on going in the relationship. That might make things easier for him…or it might make them one hundred times worse. Being alone would only make him even more fidgety and with her being so affectionate toward him, he doubted that he'd be able to get even a proper sentence out before she was leading him to the nearest bed room they could spend the night in together.
Deciding to rehearse with himself what he wanted to say, he started off by muttering, "Ok, umm Tabitha I know we've been dating for a while now and even though we just established a relationship I think it's time that we think about…Well…Uhh…ummm…Wow this is a lot harder than I thought it would be," He sighed at that. Now he was really lost. Maybe he should start with a question, "Do you want smeets?" No; that sounded even worse now that he thought about it.
He hummed in thought for a long time before thinking up something else to ask, "How would you feel about possibly moving away with me?" He paused after that thought before groaning and smacking his head into his palms, "moving away? Really man is that all you can think of? We just get her crazy uncle back then I come in and offer to rip her away again. Irk what kind of boyfriend AM I?"
'Ok, I have to at least go find her again. Sitting here like a fool won't solve my problems,' he thought anxiously, standing up slowly and beginning down the hall. He glanced back down the hall way to see it was emptied out again. He was alone, but not for long, some more Irkens were headed down the hall as he walked out of it.
"Ok one more ti-," He was cut off midsentence when one of the Irkens walking down, grabbed his already bruised neck and shoved him back into the wall.
Instinctively, his hands reached up to start clawing at his attackers arm. He didn't have anything they could mug off of him, so blindly attacking him was kind of pointless. However he realized the true inspiration behind the assault when the two douche bags flanked the Irken pinning him.
He just glared at them, not really having the air in his lungs to cuss them out, "We gave your brother the message you left him," The smaller one growled, smiling as the three looked at each other, "He wasn't too happy with your choice of words."
Jax growled angrily and kicked out against his offender as he was lifted off the ground by his throat, "Bonsi don't kill him, let the boss deal with him," Bonsi growled and loosened up on Jax's throat; letting the smaller male cough and gasp for air in great heaves, feeling all the fight slowly leave him.
"What do you want now?" Jax rasped, glaring harshly before falling into another coughing fit.
"It's not what they want, it's what I request," Another voice growled. Jax recognized this one and hated it with all his heart.
"Moon," He hissed, watching as the familiar white eyes peered at him through a deep glare.
"It's nice to know you still care for me dear little brother. I was sure you wouldn't be able to refuse my offer when I left it in the hands of these imbeciles," He glared back at his two henchmen before clearing his throat to continue, "But once I received your lovely little message I realized this task would be a tad more tantalizing then I had first presumed it to be."
"I already told your little ass kissers that I want nothing to do with your insane plans. You're lucky I haven't told the tallest, if my girlfriend weren't wanted-," He was cut off again when bonsi squeezed his neck, letting Moon have the spot light once more.
"Jaxxon, I knew you were interested; but dating? That doesn't seem like you. You never dated back in the academy."
"You never exactly called to find out if I was or wasn't," Jax gagged, clenching bonsi's arm tightly as he tried to receive some air.
"It makes me sad that you have put a female higher than your own brother. Really it does. I don't ask for much from you Jaxxon and it angers me greatly when you do not cooperate with such little things. I gave you a choice earlier today and you chose wrong little brother. Fighting back was the most moronic move you could've made. Now I'm forced to make you cut all your ties with everyone you know."
"You can't make me," Jax barely got out, relieved when Bonsi let up on his wind pipe again.
"Not like this I can't," Moon woefully agreed, "It saddens me to know my own little brother has to become a test subject just so he can help out his own family."
"You're not my family!" Jax snapped, "You are the farthest thing away from being anything but trouble to me! So let me be! Carry out your pathetic plans elsewhere without my assistance!"
Moon clicked his tongue and shook his head slowly, taking a step closer to his kin, "You see Jaxxon if I did that, then I wouldn't be safe. You are the key to my survival, along with anyone else's I choose to spare. You have to be a part of my plan, or you'll just be dead weight and I'll be forced to kill you. That would be such a shame after all I went through to perfect you."
"Bull shi-," He chocked when Bonsi once again put pressure onto his neck.
"Remember Jaxxon, you made me do this. I won't be held responsible for the actions you take after I fix you up a little," Moon purred, smiling as Bonsi lifted Jax off the ground and grabbed his PAK with his free hand.
"No!" Jax gasped, feeling his back becoming exposed to Moon. He swallowed a heavy lump in his throat and looked down the hall way to see if he could spot Tabitha and call out to her to get help. But he couldn't see anyone that could help him.
"You see what I'm about to do to you makes a very opposite personality of yours come out. The bad traits you already have are enhanced dramatically and any good traits you possess are ridden of right away. Leaving you to be a cold hearted killer who works for me. One wrong move and I can kill you with the push of a button Jaxxon, don't forget that." Moon held up a tiny, tiny red chip in his hand, showing it to his brother who was starting to visibly become fearful.
He was taking his time in torturing Jax, knowing the thought of hurting others would internally destroy him, "You can kiss your girlfriend goodbye after this and any friendships you had too." Moon purred in his antenna. Jax thrashed as he felt Moon try to open his PAK.
He kicked out at his brother and got a good hit in at one point, shoving Moon away from him and knocking him to the ground. Jax heard Moon snarl in anger and knew he was going to get hurt in more ways than one, but wanted to make sure Moon remembered just who he was dealing with.
"Hold him down!" Moon snarled at his two henchmen, whom quickly followed his orders and shoved Jax into the wall face first, making the smaller male flail and snarl at them aggressively.
"Don't do this Moon; just leave me out of it!" Jax yelped helplessly, "Please Moon I was going to ask Tabitha to marry me tonight! You can't do this! I have a whole new life to start with her, please just let me go! We'll move away from here; from Irk in general! No one will have to know about you or your insane plans!"
"It's too late to bargain little brother," Moon hissed slowly, opening Jax's PAK and shoving the unknown red chip deep into his personality slot.
The chip was activated immediately making Jax shout in agony and thrash. Bonsi and the others let him drop to the ground as he convulsed and twitched. His PAK shut down instantly and after about two minutes of waiting, started rebooting a different color. Instead of a blue color it was emanating a deep red color.
"When will he wake up?" One of the henchmen asked aloud.
"Very soon, then we can get this all over with. I'm getting bored with this ball," Moon grumbled, watching Jax carefully as his PAK blinked sporadically. "Bonsi, for now drag him with us up to the top floor balcony, we'll wait for him to wake up from there."
Bonsi nodded and went to grab Jax's arms when his eyes snapped open. His previously affectionate pupils were now narrowed and vicious and his eyes seemed to have a darker shadow across them making Moon smile. "Well good morning princess."
"How do we know if he's the real deal?" Bonsi spoke for the first time, glaring at Jax as he glared straight back.
"Hmm," Moon thought, pulling a gun out of his coat and sliding it across the floor to Jax, "My brother would never kill unless he had to. So let's test that theory now shall we?"
Jax slowly picked up the gun and stood up, not saying a word and not blinking. His eyes weren't trained on anything. Bonsi watched carefully as Jax lifted the gun and cocked it, aiming at Moon. Moon didn't seem fazed however; he just continued to watch in satisfaction as the gun slowly teetered to the right and fired.
Bonsi, whom was centimeters away from Moon, collapsed lifelessly to the floor making the others shrink back in disgust, "Don't fucking touch me again," Jax growled lowly. His narrow eyes reached Moon's again and he seemed to calm down a bit, "Why am I here?" He asked, hand moving up to his head rather quickly. It was aching unbelievably, making him nauseous and feeling dizzy.
"I'll fill you in on the way upstairs," Moon smiled, wrapping his arm around his brother's shoulders and slowly leading him away.
"Where is Tabitha?" He asked after a long moment of silence. Moon hadn't expected him to remember anything before he inserted the wrong personality chip. However he didn't exactly take the old one out before putting the new one in. So it was understandable that he had some memory left over.
Now it was just Moon's job to twist and manipulate that memory so that Jax's loyalties stayed with him. And no one else.
A/N: Please remember! Tell me if I should or shouldn't post the next book on DA or on here. I really need to know. Thank you!
Please review, I miss the review responses. :C
