Chapter 3: Reunions and Revenge

After their little Welcome Home reunion, the two lovers headed to Makarovs' office to get Natsu re-registered for duty. It had been a while since he had fought, but since he trained while he was in prison his senses had been heightened more than they already were, because of that he could sense when something was wrong, and he could tell that Lucy was still hurting. Not just over Sting's death, but there was something else, he decided not to pressure her, but still he was going to be there for her no matter what.

"Hey Luce?" the pinkette asked as the made their way towards the elevator. "I'm sorry about Sting." He said, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. The blonde stopped in her tracks, she knew maybe Makarov told him about her brother's death, and that was fine, however she knew that he knew there was something else. The most heartbreaking news was what she hadn't told him. She didn't know if she should tell him

"I know this is tough for you to talk about, especially after the funeral, but I want you to know that I'll be here if and when you need me."

Lucy just smiled knowing his words were genuine, she always knew he would be there for her no matter what.

"Thank you Natsu." She said, turning around into his arms. The pink haired male stood there with the blonde in his arms. They both stood in each other's arms, and even though he couldn't see her face he could tell she was crying, his grip tightening on her shaking form, as he rubbed her back lightly while also pressing his lips to her cheek.

"It's ok Luce, I know it hurts when you lose a family member. I know how close you and Sting were, and I promise that bastard will pay for what he did." He consoled her, nuzzling his face into her hair, he loved her scent; it was always calming to him, anytime he was upset just holding her was comforting. She was precious to him, and he would always protect her.

Lucy broke away from the embrace her gaze towards the ground, as she wiped the tears away from her face.

Natsu hated when she cried, but he loved being the one to comfort her, he hated that he wasn't able to be with them at the funeral, Sting was more than a friend to him, he was like a brother to him, and the fact that he was taken so soon enraged him, the fact that he was murdered in cold blood infuriated him.

"Luce…hey look at me." He said lifting her face to meet his. The blonde lifted her eyes to meet his gaze as a soft smile came across his face. "I promise that no matter what I will protect you, and I will get justice for Sting." He said bringing his lips towards hers.

Lucy could only smile at this gesture she knew she loved him for a reason, there was still something that she was keeping from him, but she decided it would best not to tell him yet. "Hey, how's Yukino by the way?" he asked interrupting her train of thought.

"She's fine Natsu, it's been hard for her you know, luckily Rogue and Minerva have been helping her out, but it will still be a while before she recovers. Natsu understood completely, Yukino was like a sister to him as well. The four of them grew up together, they spent every day together, and they were practically inseparable. Sting had helped Natsu confess to Lucy while they were in high school, and helped Sting confess to Yukino, they always had each other's backs and no matter what nothing would have ever separated them, but unfortunately he was taken all too soon.

Natsu couldn't help but notice how much prettier Lucy had gotten, her hair had grown down to her waist, her eyes held a fire like he had never seen, and her body had become so much more voluptuous. All in all, he was a very lucky guy.

"Lucy, I will always be here for you. I love you so much, being away from you all this time was almost unbearable, you have no idea." He said nuzzling his nose into her cheek.

Lucy had always felt comforted by Natsu, even before they had started dating, she knew he would never ever hurt her in any way. When he had been sent to prison, she knew he would be fine, but that did mean she wouldn't worry about, but that didn't matter to her, they were reunited, and it felt so good to be together again.

"Luce?" he said lifting her face to meet his gaze. Her hazel eyes met his fiery gaze. "I want you to know that I will find him, and when I do I'll make him wish he had never been born." He said, his voice filled with killer intent.

Lucy placed her hand on his cheek as if to calm the inner dragon within, but she understood why he would be upset they were practically like family, and she knew that if anyone messed with any of his friends, they would never see the light of day again.

"Natsu, I understand that you're upset but please, going after him now wouldn't be the wisest idea, they would expect it, as much as it pains me to say, I think we should lay low for a while."

Natsu tensed up a bit, but ultimately calmed himself, he knew she was right, and there was no arguing with her once she made up her mind, Lucy was scarier than Erza sometimes.

"Okay, you're right.' He said "We need to plan this out, hit 'em when they least expect it.

"Well now that we got all the sentiment out of the way, lets run some tests." She said a hint of playfulness in her voice as she left his arms, but not before shooting him a wink as she made her way into Makarov's office.

"Man, it's good to be back." He said to himself as he followed suit.

Ok well here is Chapter 3, Sorry its not long I'm kind of getting used to writing again, but trust when I say the story will get juicier and juicier throught , anyway I hope you all enjoyed, and until next this is Naraku Dragneel signing off.
