"Look at you!" Bernadette exclaimed. "You're both tanned and refreshed and I'm still... well, nine months pregnant."
Penny laughed. "You got that pregnancy glow going on," she replied. "When's my niece or nephew coming out of there?"
"Soon, I hope," Bernadette replied. "You know, you two have a certain 'glow' going on as well. Was the honeymoon that good?"
Sheldon blushed, and Penny laughed once more. "You know what? I'll tell you about it when Sheldon's not here. He's red as a tomato!"
It was true-Sheldon was red as a tomato... and getting redder with each teasing remark Howard, Raj and Leonard made. "Don't," Penny warned them with a huge grin on her face. "Stop teasing the poor man!"
They all laughed for a couple more seconds before they took in the sight of the almost empty apartment 4A. Everything was in huge boxes but the couch which they were sitting on. "So you're really leaving this place, huh." Leonard broke the silence.
"Yes," Sheldon replied. "I have come to realize that change is inevitable, and switching residences is one change that I can't not forego."
Penny smiled sadly and took Sheldon's hand in hers. "But we'll come visit, right, sweetie? And you guys can come visit us too. We can have pizza or take-out Chinese or Thai food and eat in the living room."
"Right," Amy smiled. "We can still have girls' night, and the guys can have... whatever they call their nerd conventions."
"Comic-con!" Raj replied. "And it's not a nerd convention."
Bernadette suddenly grabbed Penny, who was beside her. "Oh, darn it."
"What's wrong?" Penny asked, concerned.
Bernadette sighed. "Your niece or nephew wants to meet you already."
"Baby's coming!" Howard exclaimed. Everyone stood and assisted Bernadette. "Baby's coming! Baby's coming!" Howard was panicking, but Bernadette was having none of it.
"Calm down, Howie! I'm the one who's feeling like she's being torn apart from the inside, not you!" She shouted as they carefully went down the stairs. "Ow, ow, ow..."
The group eventually got to the hospital, where they camped out in the waiting area as Bernadette was wheeled into the delivery room with Howard. Nobody said anything, but they all knew that everything was changing, and nothing's ever going to be the same again.
They were all permitted to enter the delivery room, where they saw Bernadette holding a small baby wrapped in a pink blanket. "Hey, guys," she greeted them. "Meet Andy."
Penny looked at her first. "She's beautiful!"
"Small too, just like the two of you." Amy replied, and they all shared a laugh.
"They just had a baby," Raj teared up. "We're growing old,"
Howard shrugged. "Guess my immature, man-child days are over huh," he said as he held his daughter.
Sheldon looked at Howard and Bernadette. "Howard looks like he absolutely adores his wife and daughter," he whispered to his own wife. "He does, sweetie. Howard might have been an ass, but Bernadette straightened him out. And now he has a daughter who's just as precious."
Sheldon was silent. "What's inside that big head of yours, Sheldon?"
"I just realized what I want." Penny looked at him expectantly. "What is it?"
"I want what he has, and I want it with you," he replied silently.
Penny looped her arm through his. "That won't be a problem," she replied. "Since you already have me."
"This is it," Penny sighed. "Everything's packed and ready to go."
Bernadette stood with her daughter on her arms, wiping tears from her eyes. "Do you really have to move to Penny's apartment?"
"No," Sheldon replied. "But I don't want to live without her, so I had to compromise."
Penny smiled. Sheldon had-and still was-changing. She never thought that Sheldon could do all those things for her, but he did. "Remind me to thank you for that, sweetie," she replied.
"No need," Sheldon smiled. There was nothing he wouldn't-couldn't-do for her.
Amy gave them both a hug. 'I'll miss you both.'
Everyone joined in the hug, and Penny and Sheldon found themselves tangled in the loving embraces of their friends. "Alright, we gotta make a promise," Penny said through her tears. "I promise never to miss an important event in your lives. Not one of Andy's birthdays, weddings, pregnancy announcements, birthdays... Nothing."
"Yeah. And we won't miss any of yours too, Penny, because they'll be announced on TV," Howard joked.
Penny laughed. "Yeah, well."
"We have to go," Sheldon gently reminded Penny. "Right," she replied. "I'll see you guys soon, okay? I'll miss all of you," she sobbed.
Everyone walked with Sheldon and Penny to the ground floor. "We'll come visit. Promise."
Then they waved their goodbyes as Sheldon and Penny got into her car and drove off to Los Angeles, marking the beginning of their new lives as husband and wife.
AN: Second to the last chapter! It's like, the beginning of the rest of their lives.
