Molly stood looking at Harry and the baby in his arms. She knew her sons and as much of their personal lives as she could find out. She knew Fleur had given birth to a baby girl. As far as she knew, the baby was born only yesterday, and likely just home from the hospital. She thought how odd for a moment, that two grandkids were born on the same day. She had nothing to do of course with Bill, since the house debacle, though little to do before that. That had been his choice before, he had been in France so often, and spoke little to them. She had been wondering why he had returned and taken the house, and was here more often. Now she realized her sons had known Harry was alive, and wondered how long.
Harry knew that he could not pass her off as Victoire. Victoire was in a bassinette by the fire, Fleur having joined them for dinner, why they had it here. He would not allow the woman to even touch his daughter, but he would not hide her either, even if it had been possible to do so.
Harry smiled. "My little girl."
Molly was shocked. "Yours? How?"
"For a woman who has given birth seven times, I shouldn't have to explain."
Molly spat. "She's too old."
Harry shrugged. "Not if she was conceived before the final battle."
Molly was shocked. "Who spawned her?"
Harry looked at his baby. "Can't you see the resemblance?"
Molly eyed the baby. "She looks…..Ron? My son would never…."
Harry smiled. "You are both right and wrong. Your son did. But not Ron."
Molly was so confused. "What? Who? I…."
George did the honors. "May I introduce my goddaughter Bryony Frederica."
Understanding dawned on the woman. "Frederica?"
Harry kissed his daughter. "Named for her Papa who could not be here to raise her."
Molly was sputtering. "She is Fred's? My granddaughter?"
Harry would only give. "She is Fred's."
Molly looked at the baby, who was the image of Harry, but there was a bit of Weasley in there. She knew he was right about the age of the baby. She guessed the baby was conceived weeks before the final battle. Surely Harry would have lost a baby during the final battle though she thought. But getting a closer look at the baby, there was no doubt who her father was. The other looks may have been over looked, but the baby took that moment to wake and show her eyes. And there was no missing the big green globes, sparkling like emeralds, she got from Harry and Lily. Molly looked at her granddaughter and could not believe this was happening. Fred was dead, and she never imagined he'd have a child.
Harry held his daughter against him and wondered how the woman would react. She was still in shock and just looking at Bree. He moved back though when she reached to touch his daughter. He was not about to allow the woman to even touch his little girl.
Harry stepped back. "Don't."
Molly took a step. "She is my….."
Harry cut her off. "You will not come near her."
"She is my granddaughter."
George spat. "She is no such thing."
Molly shot him a look. "She is Fred's daughter."
Harry agreed. "She is."
Molly turned back, "She is my granddaughter."
Harry smirked. "One you will never touch."
Molly pushed. "You can't deny me contact."
Bill reminded her. "You have no claim."
Molly looked at Harry. "Your mother is dead."
Harry was pained. "Do you think I needed reminding?"
"She should have a grandmother."
Harry spat. "She doesn't need the likes of you."
Molly reminded him. "You have to let me hold her."
Harry looked at George. "Can you take Bree into the living room?"
George took his goddaughter from Harry but understood the look. Severus and the Malfoys had slipped away, or out of the room. Harry was not asking for his daughter to be simply taken from the room. He was asking for George to take her back to the safety of the manor for now. Severus would help the brothers find out how Molly got into the home. They would make sure that it was secured, so it could not happen again.
Molly tried to stop him. "She is my family."
"We all know how much family means to you."
Molly nodded. "I knew you'd see reason."
Harry smirked. "How much would you get from Albus for her?"
Molly looked slapped. "She is Fred's daughter, I'd never….."
Harry smirked. "Oh yes because you are so above betraying people for money."
"You are not family. She has my blood."
Harry snapped. "She has mine as well. And you betrayed her Papa and Uncles."
Molly grabbed him. "You grew up without family. Would you deny her grandparents?"
Harry spat. "Andromeda and Remus are all the grandparents she needs."
"She should have her blood. Arthur and I….."
"She has her Uncles. But blood is not everything."
Bill motioned. "It's time you leave."
Molly was shaking in anger. "You can't keep her from me forever."
She found herself being led from the kitchen by two of her sons. This could not be happening, she could not believe it. She had never thought Harry was romantically involved with one of the children. To find out he was, and that he had born Fred a daughter, was a total shock to her. She pled with Harry as she was being taken from the house. She may not have been the best mother, but she deserved to know her granddaughter.
Harry stood in the door as she was escorted away. "That is the closest you will ever come to Bree, ever."
Harry had headed back to the manor soon after Molly had been taken. For now Bree would not leave the manor and its grounds. He knew Albus would soon know about Bree. He had no doubt in his mind that Molly would run to him with the news. He thought she might be a fool enough to believe it was for herself. She would think the man could help her get a chance to have Bree in her life. The woman had pretended to be such a great mother, but in her own sick way, he knew she loved her actual children. That didn't mean she wouldn't use them for what she needed. He would never let her touch his daughter or use her. And he knew that once Albus knew about Bree, he would try to get his hands on her.
Molly did not waste any time at all in proving how right Harry was. Her husband and loyal children were having a meal at Percy's house. Albus had been invited, and she found when she contacted the school, he was there. He thought it likely safer than school, after what just happened.
Arthur saw her. "Where have you been?"
Molly kissed him. "Home."
Hermione smirked. "Hiding up stairs?"
Molly turned to her. "I meant our real home."
Arthur sighed. "It isn't ours anymore."
Molly was angry. "It will be again. It was stolen from us."
Penny could be heard. "Theft was involved."
Ron snapped at her. "What was that you little…?'
Percy stepped in. "You will not speak to my life like that."
Arthur was pale. "The money was stolen."
Albus ground his teeth. "Harry is not here to suck up to."
Arthur turned to him. "Will leave that up to you."
Molly put a hand on him. "You need to speak to Harry."
Arthur reminded her. "He wants nothing to do with us."
Percy agreed. "He didn't tell us he was alive."
Hermione was pale. "I can't believe it."
Ron just smirked. "Not as stupid as we thought."
Hermione had not known all that was happening. Oh his wife was far from innocent, but Ron knew she could not be trusted. They had both befriended Harry on orders from Albus. But Hermione did not realize just how much Ron had spied, or that he had been paid for it either. She had never received money, well not until the last year. It had definitely caused some tension when she had found out the whole truth. She was not above it though. She had used his fame to help pay her way through law school so far, and to land cushy internships and more. It was not her husband alone who had chosen to name their daughter Harriet. Penny was the only one here who could rightfully claim any innocence.
Molly looked at Albus and she thought for a moment whether she should tell him. Arthur and the others needed to know about the baby. She worried the man would want to use the baby. But she shook away the thought, he'd use the baby's titles, but he had no use for her.
She looked at Arthur. "Harry and Fred were involved."
Ron smirked. "There is no way."
Hermione wasn't certain. "He was gay."
Ginny agreed. "Couldn't get him to touch me."
Arthur was confused. "What matter is that now?"
Molly took a deep breath. "Harry has a baby."
Albus was stunned. "He is pregnant?"
Percy shook his head. "Fred is dead."
Hermione wondered. "Unless he isn't either."
Molly cut in. "He conceived before the final battle."
Albus smirked. "He lies. He would have lost the baby."
Arthur agreed. "He was nearly killed, before we thought…."
Molly smiled. "I saw her."
"Her?" Hermione asked.
Molly nodded. "Our granddaughter."
Arthur sunk into a chair. "Granddaughter?"
Harriet was in the room asleep, the only granddaughter they thought to see for now. Ginny wasn't dating, and Percy and Penny weren't talking kids yet. He knew about Fleur and Bill's daughter, who he knew he would never likely see, but not this. He knew he was not innocent, his wife had not done this all, but he was angered. She had done things behind his back, and cost him most of their sons, and it seemed more.
Albus eyed her. "Are you sure?"
Molly nodded. "There is no missing who her dad is."
Ron smirked. "Let me guess, those eyes."
Arthur was pale. "He has our granddaughter."
Molly nodded. "Bryony Frederica."
Albus stood. "Thank you for telling me."
Penny mumbled. "Another pawn."
Arthur shot a nasty look at his wife when she looked ready to slap Penny. "This is family news."
Molly turned to him. "I need Albus' help."
Percy wondered. "Help?"
Molly nodded. "Harry wouldn't even let me touch her."
Penny reminded her. "You have no right to her."
Percy agreed. "And can't really be surprised."
Molly looked at Albus. "You can help."
Albus assured her. "It is time to show Harry where he belongs. Surely he wants Bree to have her family."
Percy grunted. "Doesn't seem he is a fool anymore."
Percy may never have liked the kid but he didn't think him a fool. His mother was a fool if she thought the headmaster would help. Oh he would help, but only because it would serve his own purposes of course. The man did nothing for other people, unless it would benefit him as well. The family had lost their home, and others many things, because of this man. As Albus left, Percy was not alone being worried, what this new favor would cost them. Harry had made it clear at the ceremony, he was back for justice, from all those who wronged him. And that included them.
Albus thought as he went to apparate. 'If her daddy won't see reason, we'll just have to make her Lady Potter-Black, and be her guardian.'
