Harry was not happy to be interrupted during dinner. He knew it was too good to be true, sitting there and enjoying a meal, in public. It was what he was fighting for, to be home and have a normal life. But while Albus was still free, and the likes of the Weasleys, it would never happen he knew. But he had hoped after the day he had, he may be able to enjoy one meal in peace, but it seemed he would not be granted that. Draco had drawn out his wand, and they were both on guard, even if it was not Albus behind them. Harry had been through enough already not to.
Arthur knew the chances Harry would talk to him were slim but he had come. He had been speaking to his son, well the only one who would talk to him, that he knew remotely would understand his conflict. Percy definitely was far more reasonable these days than the others.
Arthur tried. "I'd like to talk."
Harry was surprised. "Why?"
Arthur motioned. "I can help."
Draco smirked. "Why would we trust you?"
Arthur kept his eyes on Harry. "Your daughter."
Harry was on edge. "If you think I will…."
"I know I have no right to demand to see her."
"Then why?"
"I owe it to her and her dad." Arthur said honestly. "And you."
Harry went into a side room with him. "Me?"
"You." Arthur agreed.
Harry didn't understand. "I was a pay check."
Arthur didn't deny it. "At the start."
Harry didn't believe him. "You kept taking."
Arthur sighed. "I came to care for you."
Draco smirked. "Because he paid for your house."
Arthur looked at Harry. "I didn't know."
He had taken money from Albus and he could never have denied that. He would not stand here and try to make excuses to Harry. He had done it to help provide for his children, that was the truth. He knew they should never had so many children, but Molly had wanted to have a little girl. But he had never known where the money had come from. He had no idea that Albus had stolen the money from Harry to pay for them. He had hard enough time over the years taking the money without where it came from. He kept doing so, for the sake of his children.
Harry could admit he had heard the honesty in the voice of the man. He knew that Arthur had often let his wife make the decisions. He had heard Arthur when they were at the hospital. He had not liked that Ron used Harriet as a name, and was trying to cash in on Harry still.
"I believe you that you did not know about the house."
"I never meant to hurt you Harry."
Harry scoffed. "You lied to me for years."
"And I regret it."
"I am not the only one you hurt."
Arthur knew what he meant. "Fred."
"You turned your back on the twins."
Arthur sighed. "They found out about…."
"Me?" Harry finished for him.
Draco added. "And somehow had an issue with you lying."
Arthur was pale. "He loved you. I never realized how much."
"Somehow we didn't think you'd share in our happiness."
Arthur stopped him. "I wanted him happy, both of you happy."
"I don't know why you are here. He is dead."
"I owe it to him."
He knew he had been a part of what had driven his children away from them. He had been able to convince George to talk a bit. George admitted that Harry and Fred had planned to move to the States or Canada after the war. He realized his son had been in love and planning marriage, and he had never known. His son was dead and there was no time for him to go back and make it right with Fred even if he could have. But Fred had left behind the man he loved and his daughter. And Arthur hoped he could at least do his best to protect them.
Arthur looked at Draco and back. "I am willing to help."
"You know the risk?"
Arthur agreed. "It is worth it."
"An oath….."
Arthur took out his wand and took an oath without a second thought. "I meant it.'
Draco asked. "What do you think you can offer?"
Harry agreed. "I don't want you guys, I want…."
"I know where Albus is hiding the money he has taken."
Harry stopped. "Money?"
"From the school and other allies. You are not the first."
Draco thought. "We knew he had another source."
Harry said. "You know you are cutting off the money."
"I have not taken a knutt from the man since I knew where it came from."
"And your wife?"
Arthur sighed. "I won't get her arrested, we have been wed thirty years, but she would not help."
Draco got the proof from the man. "I will take this to my father."
Harry looked at Arthur before he left. "I assume a thank you…."
"No, you owe me no such thing. I am just trying to repay a debt I never can."
Arthur left with that but he hoped it was a start. He didn't think he could ever make it up completely to the boy he had helped wrong so bad. And his son was dead, and there was no making it up with Fred now. But Fred had loved Harry, and his daughter was here, and there was things he could still do. Even if Harry never let him see her, the baby was his granddaughter, and he owed it to Fred to do all he could to keep her safe.
Arthur went to Fred's grave and knelt. "I failed you, but I won't let you down again. I'll keep Harry and your little girl safe anyway I can."
Lucius was as surprised as his son and Harry by the evidence brought by Arthur. The Weasleys had always been loyal, well the adults at least. Draco had sworn that Arthur had taken an oath and the information seemed valid enough. They had enough to take the man down for many of his crimes against Harry and money from the school. They were looking for the final nail in the coffin, to make sure the man never saw day light again. As long as the man was free, he would be a risk to Harry and Bree, and all those that loved the two of them as well.
The proof Arthur had given them had proven Albus had taken more money than thought, but not enough for a black cell. It seemed though that Arthur was willing to do whatever was needed to help. He knew the risk to himself, but he had meant his words, about helping Harry and Bree.
Albus was surprised. "What are you doing here?"
Arthur sighed. "Molly convinced me."
"Need more funds? I thought…."
Arthur cut him off. "No."
Albus smirked. "I have little time for your troubles."
Arthur smirked. "Not that you did before."
"I recall helping fund your house and kids' school."
"By stealing money."
Albus pointed. "If you have come for this…"
Arthur stopped. "This was Molly's idea."
"I should be grateful she is loyal."
"She believes you can get us our granddaughter."
"And I will."
Arthur smirked. "Will not hold my breath."
Albus glared. "Come do what you were sent to do."
Arthur handed him papers. "There, I am done."
Albus watched as the man stewed there. Arthur had always been easy to control. He had a stronger will than some lackeys, but he was whipped into shape by his wife. There were times he had protested how they treated Harry or what happened with his sons. Albus had never worried though that he would not be trusted. Molly knew how to keep her husband under a tight thumb, from years of marriage.
Arthur knew what the man thought of him and he knew he had given the man little reason to think otherwise. He had allowed his wife to make the decisions for too long. Though he would not throw her to the wolves, he was done with being led around.
Albus read. "No."
Arthur watched. "Not good news?"
"That boy can't know."
"Can't know what?"
Albus headed back. "You need to take something."
Arthur followed. "What?"
Albus opened a cabinet. "These memories."
Arthur was confused. "Why?'
Albus motioned. "They cannot be found."
"Why not simply destroy them?"
Albus growled. "You know they can't be."
Arthur understood. "You took an oath."
Albus spat. "The worst decision I made."
Arthur took the bottles. "What am I to do with them?"
"Hide them damn you until this clears over."
Arthur put them in his cloak. "I have no idea why I am doing this."
Albus sneered. "Ask your wife."
Arthur headed from the house and headed for London. He did not head home but instead he went to his son's office. He knew Percy had his doubts about this. He told Percy, once spells were up, what he had done. He was not surprised or disappointed when his son agreed with his plan. Percy may have been seen as a prat by most, but he had never approved. He went with his father to meet with Lucius and Cornelius.
Lucius was just finishing with Cornelius and Kingsley. "That is what I have."
Kingsley said. "We can arrest him and have him in prison."
Cornelius reminded him. "But not enough for the kiss."
Arthur answered from the door. "This should help."
Lucius looked at the man. "What are you doing here?"
Cornelius looked at Percy. "Or you."
Arthur handed them the bottle. "This should be what you need."
Percy motioned. "Watch."
Lucius was shocked. "When Severus and I took our oaths."
Arthur motioned. "Look who else."
Cornelius was confused. "Peter? He knew the man had taken the mark?"
Lucius saw the second shock. "And that Peter was secret keeper."
Arthur nodded. "I over heard him mention after the ministry."
Lucius looked at Cornelius and Kingsley. "This should be enough."
Cornelius agreed. "He is accessory to all Peter's crimes."
"Including the murder of James and Lily, and almost had Sirius kissed." Kingsley finished.
Arthur went to leave. "I hoped it was enough."
Lucius stopped him. "You risked a lot to bring this."
Arthur admitted. "I have a lot to make up for."
They knew they needed to act fast. Albus would know something was up if they did not come to his hideout soon. Arthur admitted the ruse, that the aurors knew where his home was, and about his memories. Arthur had known about the memories, not because he overheard Albus, but because of his wife. He would do everything to protect Harry, and bring Albus down, but he would not implicate his wife.
Lucius let out a breath. "Harry and the others will soon have justice."
