Harry was a bit nervous about the date. He had only dated Ginny and Cho, one was a set up and the other a joke. He and Fred had never been able to date for real. Fred had sworn when the war ended, they would move far away, and have a real life. They had spoken of such simple things. They spoke of going to dinner and a movie, of taking a walk together. They had spoken of making love in a real bed, and not in the orchard. He had told his brothers that he and Fred had met in the orchards, but too much detail. Their daughter though had been conceived in the room of requirements, the only time they had a bed, days before the last battle. Harry knew Fred would be happy for him to date again, he had no doubt. He would want Harry to be happy and have a chance at a real life. And even if a former Slytherin, he thought Fred would approve of Draco. George had more than agreed. If Fred saw Draco with Harry, how he made him blush, he would approve. Not to mention how he was with Bree.
Remus was happy that Harry had agreed to a date finally. He and George helped him to prepare. They knew he was nervous but reminded him Fred would have been happy. George also reminded Harry that all his brothers and friends were behind him as well.
Draco met him at the gates. "Are you ready to go?"
Harry was nervous but smiled. "Yes."
Draco handed him something. "Not to come empty handed."
Harry laughed at the licorice wand. "Must say this is a first."
Draco shrugged. "Thought you'd like more than flowers."
Harry agreed. "Where are going?"
Draco led the way. "I thought we'd go muggle."
"I wouldn't mind. London?"
Draco shook his head. "A bit closer to home."
Harry allowed Draco to apparate them. "Edinburgh."
Draco motioned. "I thought dinner and a movie."
Harry had an odd flicker. "Sounds good."
Draco stopped. "If you'd like to do something…."
Harry assured him. "No, it sounds perfect."
Draco took him towards a restaurant. "I must admit never done this before."
Harry believed him. "I expect you more do the wine and dine."
"I thought this suited us both better. We can do that next time."
Harry wouldn't mind it but he would not expect it. Draco had dated women like Pansy when he was in school and a bit since school. He had never dated seriously since the war. He had been on a few dates and realized most of them were out for his money. He had wined and dined them but he had expected little else. He would treat Harry to that but he knew Harry also had far more humble tastes. And for their first date, he had thought something a bit more toned down. He had heard of the muggle tradition and he thought it was something they could enjoy.
Draco took Harry into a chic little café along the royal mile, far from wine and lobster but still a pretty nice spot. They took up seats on the patio, where they could enjoy the views but also the music from inside. Harry could see why the place seemed to be popular.
Harry ordered when the waitress came. "I will take a burger and a coke."
Draco smiled. "The same."
Harry cocked an eyebrow. "You are going to eat a hamburger?"
"It wouldn't be my first."
"I never took Malfoys for burgers and soda type."
Draco admitted. "We even had a television in the war. Of course that was a hidden secret."
Harry laughed. "You trust me with such a deep secret."
"We do still have dungeons if you dare tell."
Harry pouted. "You would lock me in a dungeon?"
Draco assured him. "Not for too long."
"Well as long as my jailer kept me company."
Draco laughed. "We converted them since the war. One is a wine cellar."
Harry saw the food come. "I wish I brought a camera."
Draco popped a fry in his mouth. "You will just have to remember."
"I doubt I will forget."
Draco smiled as they finished. "We should be going."
"What, no dessert?"
Draco stood. "I hear popcorn is traditional at movies."
They headed to a movie theater that was not too far, closer of course since they could apparate. Harry had watched television, they both owned them, but he had never been to a theater before. They did purchase some popcorn and candy to enjoy with their movie. They picked an action movie which was quite good and they both enjoyed. They were happy though they had dinner and a chance to talk before.
They did apparate into Hogsmeade and not school. "I thought we could take a walk."
Harry agreed. "I'd like that."
Draco looked towards the school. "Not anxious to get back to Bree?"
"She is likely enjoying some snuggle time with Grandpa."
Draco laughed. "She does seem to love him, only second to you."
Harry agreed. "Though Oliver and you come close."
"Don't think George has forgiven either of us."
Harry laughed. "She loves all her Uncles."
Draco turned to Harry. "Uncle Draco?"
Harry blushed a little. "For now, well I hope."
Draco took a chance and ran a hand down Harry's face. "I am hoping for a second date."
Harry took a step closer. "So am I."
Draco cupped Harry's face and gently kissed him. It was short but tender. As he drew back he worried. "I am sorry, if that…"
Harry cut him off with his own light brush. "I'm not."
They walked together back to school where Draco deposited him at his rooms. Harry was not surprised to find both George and Remus waiting. The kids were asleep and both men were waiting for new about how the date had gone. Severus and Lucius were with Draco as well. Harry admitted how the date had gone and how it had ended as well. George saw his nervous look but he was truly happy for Harry.
He pulled Harry into a bear hug. "You know I am happy to baby-sit next time."
Draco and Harry had both got their wish and there had been a second time. All of their friends and family supported them as they dated. Blaise was coming home for Christmas, with his new boyfriend it seemed, and was anxious to see Harry. Blaise was happy Draco was starting to settle. Bill and Fleur had invited Harry to France, and he planned to go for a bit, around New Years. He wanted to celebrate at home though. Last year had been very different. He was newly reunited with George and the others, and facing the potion to save his life hopefully. It was hard to believe, it had been barely a year, since they had learned Harry was alive. The holidays that year would definitely be happier than the last.
On Christmas Eve they were all gathered at Malfoy manor for a small dinner. Harry and Remus were going to spend the next day with Andromeda, Ted, and his brothers. He would be leaving on the twenty seventh for a few days in France before school started again.
Blaise arrived just before dinner. "Draco."
Draco hugged his best friend. "Been too long."
Blaise shrugged. "Will have to come to Italy soon."
Draco smirked. "Waiting for an invitation."
Blaise handed him one. "Is this good enough?"
Draco was shocked. "Getting married?"
"Guess decided I better not let Darius get away." Blaise admitted.
Draco turned to Darius. "Nice to meet the man who has got my best friend to settle down."
Darius laughed. "He says the same about you."
Blaise saw Harry and Bree coming down the stairs. "The invitation includes a guest."
Draco smiled. "Not sure he will be up for it."
Blaise shrugged. "Not until Easter."
Harry came over. "What is not till Easter?"
Draco explained. "Blaise and Darius are getting married."
Harry offered his hand to Blaise. "Congratulations."
Blaise accepted. "Maybe you can work your magic on Draco."
Harry smiled a little. "Don't know but will try."
Draco took Bree from Harry. "How about we go open some gifts?"
Blaise smiled as he watched Draco with Bree and Harry. He was not alone in the room watching the three of them together. They had only been dating for less than two months, but they were so good together. Bree was ten months old, so she was starting to be able to really get into the holiday and open gifts. It would be a bit more exciting next year when she was a bit older. Harry was not the only one enjoying watching he. He wanted George and her other Uncles to have the moment with her tomorrow, so they would do the main gifts then. Harry smiled as he watched Teddy as well. It was nice to give his little brother a proper Christmas this year. It was Teddy's third officially, but different then the last two.
In the morning Andromeda and Ted joined them, as they headed to the Burrow. They were having Christmas dinner at Shell with Viktor and Oliver, who were spending the morning with the Woods. They would be going to Bulgaria to see the Krums when Harry was in France.
Harry was surprised when he saw someone. "What are you doing here?"
Arthur sighed. "I was just leaving."
George was in the door. "He dropped off gifts."
"I am joining Percy and Penny after I pick up Rose." Arthur assured him
Angie motioned. "Everyone else is inside."
Remus appeared with Andromeda who had Bree. "We will just go in."
Arthur got his only glimpse of his granddaughter. "She is beautiful."
Harry took his daughter from Andromeda. "She is."
Arthur assured him. "I will go."
Harry stopped. "You may hold her if you like."
"Really?"
Harry nodded. "It is Christmas."
Arthur took her into his arms. "Thank you."
"I am not ready to let you…"
Arthur cut him off. "I am just grateful you'd give me this."
Arthur did hand her back, but there was no missing how much it meant to him. Unlike Molly, family did in fact mean everything to him. Harry hoped one day to be willing to let Arthur do more than hold her for a few moments. The time hadn't come but he felt good he allowed this now. His brothers were fully supportive but could smile at their dad holding her. They knew how much a few simple moments meant to the man.
Bree smile when she finally really saw Uncle George. "Go."
George took her into his arms. "Hey princess."
Angie smiled. "See, you are a favorite?"
Charlie smirked. "Because Draco and Oliver are not around."
George growled. "Be grateful I am holding her."
Bree saw her Uncle Charlie and held out her arms. "Ch."
Harry shook his head. "Didn't last long."
George turned on him. "Keep that up, and I will forget about naming you a godfather."
Angie motioned. "Breakfast and gifts await."
Charlie looked at Harry. "Draco could have come."
Harry blushed. "He is with his dad and Uncle."
Remus added. "They are coming for dinner."
Angie whispered not too quietly. "They aren't engaged yet."
Harry smirked. "We have dated for two months."
Even Andromeda shrugged. "It's only a matter of time."
Harry could admit he was so happy with Draco and he hoped they would get there one day. Bree adored Draco and the feelings were returned. Draco had opted not to come today, still feeling a bit odd, as this was Fred's home. Harry hoped he would come next year, he was welcome. He had come for dinner before, but Bree's first Christmas, was different. Harry was happy when Draco did join them at the coast later.
Harry smiled as he watched his family after putting Bree down. "This next year is looking up."
An: Keep supporting the fluff, and the story will continue. Wedding, babies and fluffy happiness for Harry awaits, if support is there.
