The spring was a busy one. Not only would Bree celebrate her first birthday, and Teddy his second, but Angie was having the twins. Harry had even accepted an invitation to go to Italy. He and Draco were going strong, and he had agreed to be Draco's date to Blaise's wedding in April. The day after Teddy's birthday, Harry learned Percy and Penny had welcomed a son. He wasn't there but he knew his brothers had gone. The little boy had been named Arturo Percival, in honor of his grandfather and father. A week later came Bree's first birthday, and Harry could not even believe it. A week short of what would have been Fred's twenty first birthday, Harry had given birth to their daughter. Though he was moving on with Draco, like the birth of Bree, he wished Fred could be here for her. Lucius was already showing his grandfather side.
Gabrielle accompanied her sister and brother in law from France. The couple planned to stay on, until after George's twins were born. Lucius had hosted Teddy's birthday, and he insisted on Bree's as well. He knew if his son had his way, Bree would be his granddaughter one day.
On the morning Harry looked at her. "I can't believe she is a year."
Remus squeezed his arm. "Amazing isn't it?"
Harry picked her up. "I can't believe it's been nearly two years since Fred….."
Remus kissed his cheek. "He is always with you."
Harry put Bree down on her change table. "In her."
Remus touched Harry's heart. "And here."
Harry sighed. "I know I am moving on with Draco….."
"That doesn't mean you will ever stop loving Fred."
"No." Harry said simply.
Remus handed him a dress. "Draco understands."
"I hope he does."
Remus stopped him. "He does. Don't doubt that."
Bree cut in the moment. "Da."
Harry smiled as he picked her up. "Ready to go princess?"
Bree nodded. "Oli, Oli."
Remus laughed. "May need to throw an Uncle Go in there princess."
Bryony had been changing every day, and Harry loved watching it. She was talking more, she could say Dada and Pap which she called Remus. Her favorite people though had not changed. If anything, her love or Uncle Oliver had only grown about tenfold. She adored all her Uncles, and loved George, but he held no candle to Oliver. Oli was definitely the first person she would call for, second only to Dada and Pap. Draco was of course growing on that list as well. Harry hoped she bonded with George more as she got older. He was happy she was good, and Oliver was like a big brother, but George was her Papa's twin. Oliver had been a life line though in Canada, and through his early pregnancy, and very special.
Lucius was hosting the party for them as he had done for Teddy as well. A magical petting zoo had been brought for the kids, as Bree loved everything fluffy and cute. Harry could only imagine how far he would go, when the kids were old enough for a real party.
Draco smiled when they arrived. "There is the birthday girl."
Harry smiled as Draco took her. "Your dad went overboard."
Lucius smirked. "This is pretty tame."
Severus agreed. "He was restrained."
Harry laughed. "Well I see Bree's favorite staff member was invited."
Remus coughed. "I don't believe Severus was top of her list."
Draco shook his head. "He meant me."
Bree answered for herself. "Hag."
Hagrid was happy to come. "Thanks for inviting me."
Bree was reaching for Fang. "Pup."
Lucius shook his head. "Even with the petting zoo."
Remus assured him. "She will love that too."
Draco saw her with Fang. "May need to get her a puppy."
Harry grunted. "Don't give your father any ideas."
Lucius assured him. "She is a bit young." But to his son and Severus. "A year or two."
Harry heard but he chose to ignore the comment. He decided to focus on his daughter and her big day. There were a few surprise guests on the list. Petunia had come, Dudley and Vernon even had come as well. Andromeda had collected them from muggle London and brought them. The real surprise guest was the last to arrive, and came when Bree was with the petting zoo. Arthur was quite surprised by the invite.
George noticed. "Dad."
Arthur looked worried. "I will just…."
George stopped him. "Harry invited you."
Bill agreed. "It's your granddaughter's first birthday."
Arthur saw her with Harry and a little unicorn. "She has grown so much."
Fleur came with Victoire. "Someone would like to see her Grandpa."
Arthur had slightly more time with her. "Hey princess."
Harry came over as Bree was busy with Remus and Teddy. "Arthur."
Arthur turned to him. "Thank you for allowing me to come."
"It's her first birthday. A special moment."
Arthur handed him a gift. "It means a lot."
Harry found a shrunken toy box. "This is…."
Arthur nodded. "The kids all had their own. There is a new gift in."
George smiled. "Mine and a copy are in the nursery."
Harry assured the man. "It means a lot."
The kids had shared a lot growing up, but they had all had a toy box of their own. Harry had been told, and he had seen Ron's. Bree had a toy box, but this meant more. There was a new doll in the toy box as well. Harry was starting to slowly be ready to let the man be a part of her life. Her first birthday was an important milestone and he should be there. Arthur did go and join her, and Harry smiled at the sight. He was hurt by the man but he knew what family meant to him. Bree was too young, she wouldn't remember today, and the birthday was more for her family. Harry got his own gift from his daughter just before they went to have cake. She had been taking steps holding on, but she took her first unaided steps.
Harry knelt and watched in amazement as she took a few steps from Draco to him. He caught her up before she fell. "My little princess."
Angie was not due yet, but on George's twenty second birthday, she went into labor. Harry had only been eight days early of doing the same. Harry was at the hospital when Angelina went into labor. He knew it could take time but he would be there for it. George had been at his side when Bree came into the world. It was different, Bree was Fred's baby, and Fred could not be there for her birth. But Fred would have wanted nothing more than to be there to welcome his twin's sons into the world. There was a full room when Harry and the others went in to see the twins. The third set of boy twins in the family, they all prayed these two would have an easier time. George was the only of the four original twins, who had married and had kids. Gideon and Fabian had been barely older than Fred, mid-twenties, when killed. Harry was honored to serve with Alicia as godfather to Frederick George. Bill and Katie were asked to be godparents to Gabriel Fabian. George chose two brothers, and Angie who had no siblings, her two best friends. The twins looked like Angie, but they had George's coloring, even the red hair and freckles.
Harry was a bit nervous but he was accompanying Draco to Italy a few weeks later. Blaise and Darius were to be married during Easter break, so they were able to be away from school. Darius was Italian, and Blaise's father's family was Italian. His mother and sixth stepfather were coming, and a few other friends from the UK like Adrian. Even Severus was coming, he had known Blaise since he was young, since before school.
Draco looked at Bree. "You know she could come."
Harry shook his head. "Long trip for only a few days."
George pouted. "I don't get why I don't get to babysit."
Oliver smirked. "Because she likes me better."
Angie was surprised. "I thought she was staying with Grandpa."
Harry shrugged. "Seems Grandpa is coming with us."
Draco agreed. "Uncle Sev is taking him as his plus one."
Remus blushed. "Free trip."
Severus smirked. "I may change my mind."
George was still pouting. "All the more reason for her to stay with me."
Harry explained. "With two week old twins, we thought Angie was busy enough."
Angie agreed. "Not worried about leaving those two with her for three days."
Remus laughed. "Andromeda and Ted are helping as well."
Harry shrugged. "Might inspire them to propose."
Angie laughed. "Or might make them run the other way."
Really they thought that Harry was right. Oliver adored Bree and had been the one to offer. He was only taking her and Teddy for the weekend. Harry would be gone for a few more days, but both men would be back to work. Andromeda and Ted would take both kids then. Harry thought work in part was an excuse. He didn't think either man was ready for the kids for more than that. Harry could admit, when it came time to leave his daughter, it was a bit hard for him. The wedding was that weekend, the rehearsal the next day and wedding on Sunday, but they were staying a bit more. Draco had thought it a shame not to see some of Italy, and had convinced Harry to stay for a bit. They had a home in Rome.
Harry had a bit of a rough leave from his daughter, but he was looking forward to the trip. They arrived in Tuscany, where they were to be married at Blaise's family home. Darius' family had estates as well, but they had chosen the vineyards there. They would stay the weekend.
Blaise smiled when they arrived. "Glad you came."
"I am your best man."
Darius laughed. "He meant Harry."
Draco didn't find it funny. "I feel special."
Blaise explained. "That you have not run him off."
Harry kissed Draco. "Not yet."
Blaise motioned. "I will show you to your rooms."
Darius asked. "You guys coming out for dinner tonight."
Draco looked at Harry. "If you're not too tired."
Harry shook his head. "I'd like that."
Severus smirked. "Where is our invite?"
Harry looked at him. "Didn't think you'd be anxious for a triple date?"
Remus laughed. "I believe he isn't anxious to be left with Blaise's mother."
Blaise assured him. "She won't be here till tomorrow."
Harry and Draco went off and had a great dinner with the couple. Darius had spent his entire life in Italy, his parents were big in the business world here. Blaise had been working with the bank he owned shares in by his dad, and met Darius at a dinner. Darius was an artist, and not much for business, but did work for his dad. Dinner was a nice occasion, and Harry got a chance to know Darius, as Draco and Blaise caught up. The two would be off on a honeymoon Sunday, and it was a chance for Draco and Blaise to spend some time together.
Saturday Harry got the chance to meet Blaise's mother and the most recent stepfather. Blaise's father had been her first of seven husbands. The wedding though was on Sunday, outdoors in the vast vineyards. The reception was held though in Florence.
Draco motioned after the first dance. "Can I have this dance?"
Harry warned him. "Your toes may not forgive me."
Draco took his hand. "I will take the chance."
"Don't say I didn't warn you."
Draco kissed him. "May make you give me a foot rub."
Harry shook his head. "More incentive to learn fast."
Draco pouted. "You don't like giving me foot rubs?"
"The smell." Harry joked.
Draco snarled. "Keep it up, and I will find a good Italian guy."
Harry smacked him. "Keep that up, and I will tell my brothers."
"I guess I will just have to stick to my original date."
Harry looked at Remus and Severus. "I hope it continues."
Draco agrees. "I haven't seen my Uncle so happy in a long time."
Severus was thinking the same, about Remus, but about Harry and Draco too. "They could be next."
Remus smiled. "Harry won't be ready for some time."
Severus assured him. "Draco would never rush."
Lucius stood watching and thought the same of his brother and his son. He knew Severus was being patient with Remus who was a widower. The wedding went well into the evening, with fireworks and tons of great food. Harry missed his daughter, but he was glad that he had come with Draco. The couple left on a honeymoon cruise through the Mediterranean. The following day, Harry and Draco headed for Rome, with Lucius, Severus and Remus who all wanted to stay a bit as well. They hit the city alone for sightseeing though, and later had a romantic pizza dinner.
Draco toasted Harry over dinner. "To the first of many adventures I hope we will take together."
