Okay, so Raven may seem a little OOC in this story, but that's because she's now coming from a place of fragile patients, and no powers. So she has to re-calculate everything she would normally do. Oh, and if you don't currently hate me for taking so long to update everything, then you are absolutely amazing. And to everyone who reviewed, you are equally as amazing, even if you do hate me.I'm also giving a very special shout-out to the following people:
Wicked-tay I understand what you mean, exactly and completely, in fact. Yet, when I wrote that particular section of the chapter, exactly what went through my mind was 'She should push him away, she actually considered it, but she has no powers, and no idea of exactly how hostile or insane these people are. She also has no clue what they're capable of, and that might just anger them. Better to stay on their good side.' That, and the fact that it's just the prince and the king. Other than them, she'll still be Raven.
BartWLewis Thank you for that. I'll definitely take that into consideration for this chapter and all other chapters to come.
KittyandSteve17 Your reviews are definitely some of the best I get because you tell me exactly what I need to hear. I love when people give me praise reviews AND critique reviews. Yours was a mixture of both. It made me feel like you really do enjoy my writing, and it also let me know that there were things that I can improve upon, and that make me a better writer.
So all in all, THANK YOU!
Previously, on Princess.
"Friends! I have received the news of friend Raven's location!" Starfire said as she rushed into the common room.
"Where is she?" Beastboy said as he ran up to her.
"Please read the letter in which we have received." She said. She held it out to Robin, who read it out loud.
"Dear Titans,
I'm very sorry about this, but I can't come back. Not because I don't want to, but because I can't. I was kidnapped to be a birthday present for Prince Skylar. But not on Earth, I was taken to another dimension completely. I don't know which one, but they told me why. I'm the fiancé of Prince Skylar, against my will of course, and we're getting married tonight. I can't come back because my powers don't work in this freakish castle. I wish you guys could help, but I don't see how that's possible. You need to replace me. Find someone new or have Jinx take my place.
I hope I see you again,
Raven."
"She's been kidnapped." Beastboy said after a few moments of silence. Every Titans eyes were filled with tears, but a certain green changeling's head was formulating a plan.
Present
All of the Titans, including the Titans East and the Honorary Titans, were gathered inside of the original Titans tower, doing everything in their power to find Raven. Herald, Beastboy, and Starfire were traveling from dimension to dimension, trying to see if one of them held Raven. Cyborg, Robin, and Tramm poured over scans for Raven in Earth's atmosphere, in different dimensions, on different planets, and everywhere else imaginable. All of the other Titans were doing normal, Titan-y things.
"Has anyone found anything?" Robin asked as Herald re-appeared with Beastboy and Star in tow.
"Nothing yet." Beastboy said dejectedly.
"But we will surely keep up the search for friend Raven, yes?" Starfire asked, a hopeful note in her ever-perky voice.
"Of course we will Star. After all, what else can we do?" The Boy Wonder responded, a grim expression set deep into the lines of his pale face.
Titans!
Raven sat on the fluffy bed in her room, staring out the window that had a view over the grounds. Her eyes roamed over the scenery, lingering on a certain part of the grounds, right near where the wedding was meant to be held, before moving on. Her emotions were in turmoil, even worse than when she practically sent Dr. Light into hysterics.
The small servant girl appeared once more, holding a flowing white gown and veil. "Now madam, we simply need something new and something blue. After all, the dress is old and borrowed." She said, holding the dress out to her timidly, as if she feared that Raven would throttle her.
"Set it on the dresser and be gone." Raven responded in her natural monotone, her half-closed eyes enhancing the utter indifference and discontent she felt on matter.
The girl complied, placing the gown in the empty space and making a hasty retreat, muttering a low "good-bye madam" as she did. The servant seemed near-petrified as she left, which left Raven to remember yesterday's pre-dinner fiasco.
Raven now wore a grey sweater dress the servant girl had brought up to her, along with a pair of gray ankle boots much like her own blue ones. This dress stopped just above her knees, and hugged her figure the perfect amount. Her hair hung down in its normal fashion, as she refused to let anyone touch it.
"Miss, are you positive you don't want anything done to your violet locks?" She questioned, taking a few steps closer.
"Positive." Raven responded in her cold, flat voice. Her eyes were sharp as they glared at the servant, who squirmed under the intense gaze. She removed her attention from the girl to glance into the mirror and attempt to cover up any skin she felt should be hidden, specifically speaking, any space between her collarbone and breasts.
The servant girl was now close enough to touch her, and she began to reach. "But miss, I believe your hair would–" At this point, her fingers had connected with a just few violet strands, and that threw Raven's currently-fragile temper over the edge. In a span of a half second, the servant was being held to the wall by her throat, all air cut off by one of Raven's ivory-skinned hands.
"Don't. Touch. My. Hair." Raven snarled out in a low, acidic voice. Her eyes seemed to flash black, as if somehow, somewhere not-too-deep inside her, something powerful was fighting to make an appearance, despite the fact that her magic was bound metaphorically and literally. The girl nodded as best she could, with Raven's hand around her throat and all.
Finally, Raven removed her hand and the girl dropped to the ground, gasping to bring air into her lungs. "I'm… s-so sorry, miss." The servant stammered, pushing herself further away from Raven.
"Get. Out." Raven growled, her eyes twitching in irritation. The servant nodded vigorously, scrambling to her feet and running out of the bedroom.
Oddly enough, the memory made Raven smile, because having someone afraid of her reminded her of Beastboy. Who she would never admit she had a crush on. Ever.
Titans!
The Titans were holding a meeting in the tower, as their worry had become deeper. That, and the fact that they were deciding who would temporarily fill Raven's spot.
"I think it should be Argent." Someone offered up, possibly Kole.
"Hey, has anyone checked for Raven in Thailand?" Someone else asked.
"Been there twice." Kid Flash replied, sighing.
On the roof of the tower sat three Titan children, plus a giant bear, leaning against each other for support. "Where are you, Waven..?" Timmy asked quietly.
Titans!
Raven, after letting Brave loose and literally fighting with the royal dressers, was rather sourly pouting in the corner of the room in a wedding gown, shooting dagger-like glares across the room at anyone who dared to make a move in her direction. She'd reigned Brave in (although the violence-loving emotion wanted to rip their heads off as much as Rage did) and now resigned herself to silence and brooding.
"Miss Raven, you should be heading downstairs now." The dressing maid said tentatively, frightened.
"No." Raven snapped. Ever since the hair incident, her patience had completely disappeared, "I'm not going anywhere!"
"But, Miss–"
"I said no." She growled, pushing to her feet and stomping over. Although she wasn't, not this time at least, she appeared about four feet taller, and the servant cowered in her shadow.
"Miss Raven!" Roared the king, storming. "You will get down to the garden this instant!"
"I. Will. NOT!" Raven snapped back. Her patience was so far gone that not even the king's presence could contain it.
"Guards!" The king called, snapping his fingers in irritation. "Get her to the gardens and on to the alter. I don't care if you have to drag her." And it took the guards exactly that to pull a furious Raven from the room and down to the vast royal gardens.
Once the guards and a still-angry got out of the palace, they shackled the ankles and handcuffed her wrists, shoving the bouquet into her fisted hands. She threw it on the ground and stomped on it. The guards produced another one, and this one they glued to her hands. Brave was rubbing her hands in anticipation, knowing what was coming next.
Sure enough, one of the guards dropped a sword, and it took Raven no time at all to lift it into the air and soon she was parrying with the other guard. In few seconds more, she had both guards' swords, and hit them both with the hilt, knocking them out. She leapt into the space when her eyes had lingered earlier. The air seemed to shimmer as it swallowed her up. A portal. A portal that no one but her knew about…
Titans!
"Okay, teams. We know our jobs, right?" Robin asked, smiling as everyone nodded. They had finally locked in on Raven's signal, and Herald was opening a portal to get there. But, before anyone could do anything other than take a breath, a squealing bunch of lop-sided white satin and violet hair came tumbling down from out of nowhere and landed on a certain red-headed speedster, taking them both to the ground.
"Oof." Raven said simply, pushing her hair back from her face. And before any other noise came a chorus of,
"Waven!" And then, she was pounced on my Melvin, Timmy, and Teether.
Welp, that wasn't too much of a cliffhanger. Sorry I've been so distant. I'm sorta grounded. Shhhh….. I never posted this. Love ya.
Always me,
