A/N: I am so sorry that I'm taking so long! My muse is ill, my grandpa died... Anyway, I'll spare you my excuses.

Zero's anger was slowly engulfing him. 'Pompous son of a bitch!' He fumed mentally. 'How dare he?! I am not... Not that! Never! I won't accept it! I'm better than that scum... I know I am... Right?' Momentary depression eclipsed the anger, until the silverette shook his head, as if to physically disband the thoughts clouding his mind.
Sighing, he attempted to return to the work at hand. The chain on his gun wouldn't mend itself, after all. 'Stupid, destructive, moronic pureblood.' Kuran had broken the chain for Bloody Rose in several places, also tearing the inner lining of his school jacket. And, although several days had passed, Zero couldn't find the time -nor the give a damn- to attempt it's repair.
Something about their conversation had truly bothered the teen, but he didn't know exactly what. Well, several things. One of them was just more elusive than the rest. 'I don't get it. Why is this making me so uneasy?'
But, try as he might, the hunter couldn't find an answer to his question. Sighing again, Zero cut the thread on both his thoughts and his jacket. He was finished with the sewing, now he just had to solder the chain back.
"That can wait until tomorrow," he thought aloud, stretching a bit to relieve the tension in his shoulders and neck.
"What can wait?" questioned a peppy voice, coming from his doorway.
Angry once more, the teen glowered at the unwelcome figure who was disturbing his thoughts. The headmaster frowned at the look on Zero's face. "Come now, Zero-rin! I just wanted to come visit my dear son before he leaves again!"
This, however, only served to turn a glower into a murderous glare. "First of all, DON'T call me 'Zero-rin.' And, secondly, I AM NOT YOUR SON! Get it through your thick skull already! I've told you that I'm not a part of this family!" Zero stated, exasperated. He then stood and gathered his things. "I'm going back to my dorm. It's almost time for the cross over."
Suddenly, the chairman's face became all too serious. "Wait, Zero." His tone was too serious as well. Zero knew what was coming next. "There's an assignment for you, from the Association." As he spoke, Cross produced an envelope from seemingly nowhere. Not that the hunter had been paying much attention.
Zero snatched the mission and brushed by the eccentric. "Alright."
"And Zero? Be careful."
Said boy just walked away without a sound, but the chairman knew he had heard. With a sigh and a soft smile, the man shook his head and walked back down the hall towards his office. 'He's a good kid,' he mused, 'but he needs some guidance. That temper of his could get him into trouble someday. He really should be more careful... Oh well, I'm probably just being over-protective.'
A/N: Yeah, mostly a filler. Constructive criticism is welcome, and so are suggestions. I'm getting somewhere with this, I swear! ^.^
