Here's chapter 10! Thank you so much for al lthe reviews, favs, and alerts! This chapter was pretty easy to write since I've had it planned out for awhile.
I don't own Glee.
Enjoy!
"Are you ready for the doctors appointment today after school?" Rachel asked Finn as she finished making her lunch. It was Tuesday, and it had been five days since they found out Rachel was pregnant again. It was May 1st also, which meant tomorrow was her big NYADA audition. She wasn't even sure she should go through with it. She'd have to decide by tomorrow, that was for sure.
"I'm going to have to be," Finn answered, taking a bite out of his Pop-Tart. "How did Puck react when you went to the ultrasound together?"
"He acted all macho and everything, but he teared up anyways. The doctor will probably confirm how far along I am, but I have a pretty good idea how old it is."
"Oh really?" he asked with a smirk.
"Remember when you passed your Trigonometry test on March 15th?" she grinned. He obviously remembered because he smiled too once she mentioned it. "Well, clearly our use of protection didn't work. Oh well, like you said, this baby was supposed to happen for a reason."
-more-than-words-
"So, guess what happened in my English class today?" the brunette asked as her and Finn drove to the OB/GYN's office after school. "Right before I got to class, I had to go to the bathroom and I was in there for fifteen minutes...throwing up."
"Yep, you're definitely pregnant," he commented as they pulled into the parking lot. They had asked the daycare center Cory was at to watch him for another hour or so, since they had their appointment to go to. "So, what are we going to tell our parents?"
"Oh yeah..." she whispered, forgetting about them. "Let's invite them over for dinner tomorrow and we'll tell them then. And we'll tell glee club on Friday, and if any of them get angry at us we won't respond to any of their texts or calls."
"Sounds like a plan," Finn laughed as they made their way inside the building. It looked the same as it did two years ago, with an equal amount of people in there. They were called about ten minutes later, and they were taken into a room. Rachel laid on the examination chair with butterflies in her stomach. This felt too familiar to when she came here the first time.
"Good afternoon Miss. Berry," Dr. Chin greeted them as she entered their room. "How are you today?"
"I've been better. My morning sickness is starting back up again," she groaned. The thought of throwing up made her sick to her stomach.
"That usually happens," she sat down on the stool and turned on the ultrasound. Rachel lifted up her shirt of her stomach was exposed, ready to feel the cold gel on her skin. "So, how's your other child? Isn't his birthday next month?"
"Cory's doing good. And yes, he'll be two next month on the sixth," she winced once she felt the gel hit her stomach. The knob thing, which she had forgotten the name of, glided on her stomach which spread the gel around.
"And..." Dr. Chin stopped as she looked for the embryo. She then took her finger up to the screen and pointed at a little circle. "There's your baby. It looks like you're six weeks along. Here's the heartbeat." After a few moments, the tiny beat of a heartbeat echoed the room. A few minutes later, she wiped the gel off Rachel's stomach and shut off the ultrasound. "I'm going to go have the secretary schedule your next appointment. Here's the DVD, you can come out whenever you want to."
"Thank you," Finn whispered as the doctor left the room. He was still holding Rachel's hand once she was gone. The brunette turned her head over to her boyfriend with a smile. "I'm glad I came. I wish I got to see it the first time though."
"You did, when we babysat Terri's nephews," she corrected him.
"I mean in this doctor's office, holding your hand, seeing our baby live on that screen. I wanted to experience that moment with you."
"You just did," she kissed his forehead as she got out of the chair and they made there way back to the waiting room. They made their way to Finn's truck and hopped in slowly. While they were driving home, there was little conversation. Before they got home Finn finally thought of something to talk about.
"Do you want to find out if it's a boy or a girl? Like, when we can find out?" he asked.
She thought about it for a moment before she finally answered. "We'll see. Maybe, who knows."
"Kurt Hummel."
Carmen Tibideaux was sitting in the auditorium of McKinley, waiting for Kurt and Rachel to audition for their songs. Rachel was sitting in the audience as well with Blaine, Finn, and Mr. Schuester. She watched at her best friend walked on the stage, and her heart stopped when he started to talk.
"Hello. My name is Kurt Hummel and I'll be singing Music of the Night from Phantom of the Opera," his smile turned into a frown quickly. From his facial expression, it seemed like she was unimpressed with his choice. "Then I decided to sing Not the Boy Next Door from The Boy From Oz."
Kurt:
Comin' home used to feel so good
I'm a stranger now in my neighborhood
I've seen the world at a faster pace
And I'm comin' now from a diff'rent place
Though I may look the same way to you
Underneath there is somebody new
I am not the boy next door
I don't belong like I did before
Nothin' ever seems like it used to be
You can have your dreams, but you can't have me
Oh, I can't come back there anymore
'Cause I am not the boy next door
You've been savin' those souvenirs,
Faded photographs from our foolish years
We made plans, but they're wearin' thin
And they don't work out 'cause I don't fit in
And those mem'ries will just weigh me down
'Cause I got no place to keep 'em uptown
I am not the boy next door
I don't belong like I did before
Nothin' ever seems like it used to be
You can have your dreams, but you can't have me
Oh, I can't go back there anymore
'Cause I am not the boy next door
I'm not sorry for just bein' me
But if you'd look past the past you could see
That I am not
(You are not)
(The boy next door)
(You don't belong)
Nothin' ever seems like it used to be
You can have your dreams, oh, but you can't have me
I can't go back there anymore
'Cause I am not
I am not
I am not the boy next door
While Carmen gave her comments, Rachel couldn't help but smile. His performance of that song was outstanding. That song was a much better choice than The Music of the Night. He was going to make it into NYADA for sure. She, however, might not.
"Rachel Berry?" the NYADA board member called out. The brunette let out a sound that was a combination of a shiver and gasp, and her eyes started to droop with sorrow. She couldn't go up there. She was pregnant, and with another baby on the way there was no way she could go to NYADA. "Rachel Berry?"
"Rachel, aren't you going to go up there?" Blaine asked, tapping her shoulder to see if she was ok.
"No," her brown eyes traveled over to Finn. They had the same look in their eyes. "I can't."
So do you think Rachel made the right choice to not audition for NYADA? Put what you think in your review!
Coming up in chapter 11: Finn and Rachel tell their family, friends, and even Cory about their second baby. How will they react?
