Disclaimer: I don't own Winx Club.

Okay, Alenadira, I want to say something. I'm not mad at you, or anyone else in particular for that matter, but this is something I have very strong feelings about and you've given me a good excuse to talk about it. Here goes.
I will never make a joke at my characters' expense about their sexual orientation. Ever. Why would I? It's not funny, it's cruel. It basically boils down to "Let's laugh at them because they're different!" No. I won't do it. It doesn't matter to me what their sexual orientation is, be it gay, straight, bisexual, transgender, or asexual, and it shouldn't matter to anyone else either. The important feature here is not what gender the characters are, but that they care about each other, want to be together, and want to make each other happy. As a friend of mine once said, "Love trumps plumbing."

With that out of the way, back to the story.

Amelia stared at Eclipsis in mingled horror and disbelief. They'd thrown everything they had at her, and it still hadn't been enough. They were exhausted, their weapons were gone, and they were out of magic. And now they were out of time.

"I admit, you've done quite well." Eclipsis said. "Never before has anyone done so much to make me so angry. I think you've earned a truly memorable end, wouldn't you say?" A thread of sparkling black fire extended from her hand, forming into a whip. "Something extremely painful." She lashed out with the whip.

"Scatter!" Dhalia said. The Classix moved to dodge as the whip whistled towards them. It smashed into the wall behind them, taking huge chunks of stone out of its surface. Eclipsis lashed out again.

Reyva was too exhausted, to drained, and to slow to dodge this strike. At the last second she threw up her hands to protect her face. The blow landed on her crossed arms with horrible cracking sound. Reyva fell to the floor, both arms broken and burned.

"Who's next?" Eclipsis asked gleefully, the cord of black flame hanging from her hand. "How about... You!"

She swung again and Perdi tried to dive out of the way. Unfortunately, Eclipsis was just to fast. The whip collided with her long, thin legs. They snapped like dry twigs. Perdi screamed.

"You'll pay for that!" Artis shouted. She charged towards Eclipsis, bent on inflicting at least some damage.

"Oh, a volunteer!" Eclipsis swung her whip towards Artis. Artis dodged the whip. It never even touched her skin as it skimmed across her back... Neatly severing her wings. She fell to the ground, now a creature without magic in Altivix. Without magic to draw upon, it began to consume her life force.

"Artis!" Amelia shouted, reaching for her friend. The whip whistled through the air, wrapping itself around Amelia's arm and throwing her into the wall. Her left arm broke and she received several deep gashes to her leg.

"Stop this!" Dhalia cried, only to be struck in the chest with the next lashing. It threw her backwards, where she collided with the wall. A sickening crunching sound came from her as numerous bones broke. She feel to the ground in a shattered heap.

Nyssa barely had time to take a step when the whip collided with her side, breaking several ribs. She too fell to the ground, badly wounded.

"Ah, I do believe that ends this charade." Eclipsis said, the whip dissolving into nothing. "Still, others may try to follow in your footsteps. Best if I crush that hope right here." She turned to the portal. Black lightning arced from her hands to the gate, producing a horrible screaming sound. She channeled more energy into it, but a bolt bounced back and struck her, throwing her backwards. "Hmph. So it's a little more resilient than I thought." She rose to her feet again. An aura of dark magic radiated from her body, arcing and hissing as she walked forwards. "But nothing can stand against my full might."

"Stop!"

Eclipsis turned. Behind her, Amelia had struggled to her knees.

"Child, you are already dead. Enjoy the few short moments you have left. Don't force me to kill you any faster."

Amelia gritted her teeth. "I've never given up before. I won't give up now!"

"Be reasonable. You have nothing left."

"No, I don't. But who ever said I was reasonable?" She put her good hand on the rock wall to steady herself.

"Certainly not me." Eclipsis said. "You are a very persistent annoyance. One that will soon be crushed." Her power began to surge, forming into the attack that would surely end Amelia's life.

"One chance left." Amelia whispered. "One last chance. Mana Siphon!"

This cavern was the center of all magic in Altivix, and the final resting place of all magic from across the Magic Dimension. The walls glowed with power. Now Amelia reached out for that power. And found it.

The magic slammed into her body, overwhelming her senses and her mind. She lost track of who she was, overwhelmed by eons worth of magic. Every spell ever cast, every hex ever used, every blessing, every curse, every bit of magic, both light and dark flooded through Amelia. Her body was destroyed by horrific curses, saved by miraculous healing spells, burned with fire, drowned with water, shocked with lightning, crushed by earth, consumed by death, and restored by life.

Time seemed to stand still for Amelia. Power beyond imagination flowed through her, taking her identity with it. She didn't know who, or even what she was. Fairy, witch, monster? Man, woman, child? Her identity shattered. Desperate, she reached out for something, anything, that she could cling to.

Through all the magic, a single, familiar thread flowed. Her own power. She grabbed it, clung to it, wrapped herself in it, and, within the protective barrier she had built, she began to gather the shattered pieces of her mind together.

She was Amelia Galiana.

She was seventeen.

She was the daughter of Aurena and Terro.

She was from Oppositus.

She was a fairy.

She went to Alfea.

Her friends were Artis, Reyva, Dhalia, Perdi, and Nyssa.

Bit by bit she rebuilt her personality, her history, her identity. Everything she'd ever done, every experience she'd ever had went through her mind. Some were good, some were bad, but all of them were hers. She saw herself fight and struggle. She hadn't always made the right choices, but she'd always tried to do so. And she never, ever gave up. She opened her eyes.

Eclipsis fired her attack at Amelia. The girl glowed like the sun as the black orb struck her. It vanished without doing any real damage to the girl. She rose to her feet, power rippling off of her body. "Eclipsis." When she spoke, it was as if a multitude of voices spoke with her. "You have been a scourge upon the universe for far to long. Today, it ends."

"Never!" Eclipsis cried defiantly. She fired blast after blast at Amelia, but nothing harmed her. Anything that touched her simply vanished as the girl strode towards her opponent.

"This is the end." Amelia said. She stopped and drew a circle of light in the air with her right hand. She then placed her hand at the center of the disk she'd created. "Farewell Eclipsis, Queen of Monsters."

She unleashed the power contained within her in one massive blast. The disk formed into a beam of energy that picked Eclipsis up and threw her towards the gate.

"You haven't won!" Eclipsis shouted. "No matter my fate, you'll all die here!" With that, she flew through the portal.

The power left Amelia, and she fell to her knees. Weakly, she pawed at one of her pockets. "You're...wrong...Eclipsis." Amelia said as she pulled a small orb from it. The last Ember Stone. She looked at her friends.

"At least...I can save...you." She said. She held up the orb. It shattered, leaving a tiny flame. "Go... Take them...home... Give them...the strength...to...survive." The fire burst from her hand, gathering around her friends. Amelia fell forwards. Her eyes began to close, but she was already blind. Everything had faded to black.

A/N: Well then.

Stick around for the epilogue, because we're not quite done yet. Still a few more chapters to go, but soon, it all ends.
