CHAPTER EIGHT

"They were after you?" Derek asked. "How do you know?"

"Because I knew them," Magda said, avoiding their questioning looks. Instead, she kept her eyes focused on Aiden. She moved closer so she could hold his hand. "They had hunters' weapons. Guns with wolfsbane laced bullets. But they weren't hunters. They were werewolves."

"Wolves with hunters' weapons?" Isaac asked, confused.

"How did you know they were werewolves, Magda?" Derek pressed.

Mia closed her eyes before answering. "Because they were from the pack whose alpha turned me."

"What?!" Isaac exclaimed.

"What are they doing here in Beacon Hills?" Cora asked.

"I don't know," Magda said, biting her lip. "One of them said, 'You'll be sorry you ever left us.' Maybe they came to take me back. Their alpha turned me, doesn't that technically make me a part of their pack?"

"No," Isaac said quickly. Then turned to Derek. "It doesn't, right?"

"Not necessarily, no," Derek said, still tending to Aiden's wounds. "If they abandoned you and you truly became an omega, then they have no hold over you. Being a part of a pack is about loyalty, not chain of being turned."

Magda let out a sigh of relief.

"But it's possible that they realized you were alive, and come to persuade you to join their pack," Derek said. "The more members a pack has, the stronger the alpha."

"Well shooting at my date was a great way to win me over," Magda rolled her eyes.

"We're not going to let them take you," Isaac said firmly.

"There," Derek said, finishing up stitching Aiden's wounds. "First thing in the morning, I'm going to talk to Scott. Even if you're not part of his pack, he'll want to know that there are other werewolves in town trying to cause some trouble."

"Because Isaac's right," Cora said. "We're not going to let them take you. Not without a fight."

Magda smiled warmly at them. "Thank you."

"Aiden just needs to rest. Someone should call Ethan and let him know what happened, but it's best Aiden not be moved. He can crash on the couch," Derek said. He shot a look to Isaac. "Everyone will be on their best behavior, right?"

"Sir yes sir," Isaac replied unenthusiastically.

"Cora, help me move Aiden to the couch, please," Magda said. Together they moved him carefully, and Magda went to grab a blanket and pillow for Aiden.

"Are you going to sleep out here tonight?" Cora asked.

"I'm just gonna stay next to Aiden," Magda said. "In case he wakes up or something. I grabbed an extra blanket and pillow for myself."

"Everyone try and get some rest, alright?" Derek said. "Good night."

Isaac hesitantly walked towards Magda. "Are you still hurting?"

Magda looked down at her wound; she had forgotten about it.

"It just stings a bit," she told him. "But it should heal soon enough."

Isaac gently grabbed her hand, and his veins darkened. Magda felt the pain in her side lessen.

"How'd you do that?" Magda asked.

"Neat trick, huh?" Isaac smiled. "You just have to touch them, and think about their pain… it feels weird at first, but it's nice to know you can help."

Magda quickly turned to Aiden, and did as Isaac explained. She quickly felt an odd sensation run through her body, but smiled as Aiden's breathing became normal.

"Thank you," Magda said, smiling at Isaac.

"You really care about him, don't you?" Isaac asked.

"Of course I do," Magda replied. "And it's my fault he was hurt in the first place. He got the shot to his stomach because he used himself as a distraction so I could attack."

"Did you have fun on your date?"

"That's really the question you're going to ask me right now?" Magda nearly laughed.

"Just trying to make small talk," Isaac shrugged. "That's what friends do, right? Talk about their love lives."

"I did have fun, actually," Magda smiled. "Up until the getting attacked part of course. It was nice to feel special. To know that someone wants you, and that they want everyone else to know it too." She paused. "He's a good guy, Isaac."

Isaac pursed his lips but said nothing.

"I'm going to go to bed," Isaac finally said. "Are you sure you're going to be comfortable like that?" Magda was sitting on the ground, her back to the couch, the back of her head resting slightly against Aiden's.

"I'll be fine, thank you," Magda said, slightly discouraged. "Good night, Isaac."

"Good night, Magda."

In the middle of the night, Magda stirred. She had fallen from her upright position and was lying on the floor next to the couch. When she sat up, she saw that Aiden was starting to wake.

"Aiden?" Magda whispered in a sleepy voice. "Aiden, it's alright, you're safe."

"Magda?" Aiden asked. "Magda, are you alright?"

"I'm fine," Magda smiled lightly at him. "You on the other hand, are going to be needing some rest for a while."

Aiden took Magda's hand in his and kissed it lightly. "Thank you. You saved my life."

"Shh," she said, wiping some sweat from his brows. "I didn't do anything. You need to rest alright?"

"I took two bullets tonight," Aiden said. "Don't I at least get a good night's kiss?"

"You're lucky you're injured," Magda smiled as she leaned down and kissed him softly on the lips. Magda pulled away and moved to make herself comfortable on the floor again, but Aiden held onto her hand.

"Stay with me tonight," Aiden said softly. "It'll help me heal faster."

"For some reason, I don't believe you," Magda said with a coy smile.

"Will you stay with me tonight?" Aiden asked again.

"We won't fit on the couch," Magda told him.

"Then I'll sleep on the floor with you," Aiden said simply. "If you'll have me."

"You are persistent, aren't you? You're supposed to be resting."

"I told you," Aiden said, propping himself up on his good arm. "When I know what I want, I go after it. Unlike other people I know." He shot a glance at the sleeping Isaac.

"Fine," Magda agreed, helping ease Aiden off the couch and onto the floor. "Derek and Cora are not going to let me live this down. And Isaac is going to kill you."

"I'll take my chances," Aiden said. "At least I'd have an awesome last night."

"Okay, you're laying it on thick," Magda said. "I'm already in bed with you. Figuratively speaking of course."

Aiden wrapped his arm around Magda, careful of his shoulder injury. Magda gently placed one of her hands on his chest, drawing some of his pain away. Aiden kissed the top of her head affectionately as they both drifted off to sleep.

When Magda stirred in the morning, the first thing she realized was that Isaac was gone. The second was that Aiden snores a little. The third being that Cora was awake and cooking breakfast.

"About time you got up," Cora said.

"Was Isaac upset when he woke up?" Magda asked as she gingerly got up out of the covers she was tangled in with Aiden.

"I don't know if upset was the right word," Cora said. "More... brooding. He went with Derek to talk to Scott. So now that they're gone, can you finally fill me in on what is going on between you and Aiden? Isaac takes you to the dance and is your knight in shining armor, then all of a sudden you start spending your time with the psycho alpha twins and go on a date with the crazier older brother?"

"I can hear you, you know," Aiden grumbled as he sat up.

"Good, I don't care," Cora said. She turned back to Magda. "So tell me. What's up?"

"Aiden and Ethan aren't psycho," Magda started. "You've been getting to know them better, you can tell that you've changed."

"Maybe," Cora agreed. "But not enough to date him, swap spit, and spend the night with him… all in the same night."

"Does that make me a slut?" Magda asked in a small voice.

"No," Aiden answered, stretching and checking his wounds, which were mostly healed.

"Of course not," Cora said. "I'm just trying to understand where your head and heart are at. I thought it was pretty obvious that you've been into Isaac from the very beginning."

"I have been… but I don't think he feels the same," Magda admitted.

"Even I've tried telling her that he's just being a stupid teenage guy and not acknowledging his feelings, but she doesn't want to confront him herself," Aiden said. "So I offered myself as a bit of a distraction for Magda as well as an incentive for Isaac to realize the treasure he has right in front of him." He smiled and winked at Magda, who blushed lightly.

"Ew," Cora said at their cuteness. She turned to Magda. "And you're okay with that?"

Magda shrugged as she ate a piece of bacon. "Aiden's cute and fun to be around. And I oddly like kissing, now that I know what it's like when I'm not being attacked. And if Isaac really does like me, then maybe he'll realize it before I end up falling in love with the psychotic alpha twin."

"I would take offense to that except you admitted to the possibility of falling in love with me," Aiden commented, smirking.

"Alright," Cora said. "You're my friend, and I support you through thick and thin." She then turned to Aiden. "But if you hurt her –"

"I know, I know, you'll rip my throat out," Aiden finished.

"No, I'll rip your balls off and shove them down your nonexistent throat," Cora corrected without missing a beat. "Toast?" she offered with a smile.

"You are a little scary," Aiden said as he accepted a piece of toast.

"I'm glad you recognize that," Cora smiled.

"Are you feeling alright?" Magda asked Aiden.

"Jus a little sore," Aiden said, wincing as he took a seat next to Magda. She took his hand in hers and squeezed it, taking some of his pain away. He smiled at her gratefully. "Thank you. I should get back to Ethan and just rest the rest of today, and I think I should be fine."

"Are you sure you don't want to stay here?" Cora teased.

"Ethan will be worried," Aiden insisted. "But thank you for all your help."

"At least wait until Derek gets back," Magda said. "You're still healing, you can't walk all the way back. We left your motorcycle at the edge of the woods."

"How'd you get back to the loft last night, then?" Cora asked as she munched on her piece of toast.

"Get this," Aiden said proudly. "This tiny little girl right here… she carried me and ran me here."

"Seriously?" Cora asked, impressed. Magda shrugged, but nodded and smiled. "Aren't you like half his size?"

"We couldn't risk that the rest of the pack came after us," Magda explained.

"Wait the pack?" Aiden asked, confused. Magda and Cora took turns filling him in on the information he missed while he was passed out.

Just as they were finishing explaining, Derek and Isaac entered the loft.

"Good morning!" Magda greeted cheerily. Derek gave a half-hearted smile and Isaac just gave Aiden a look.

"So what's the alpha say?" Cora asked.

"He's slightly worried, but as we don't have much info on the pack or their alpha, there's not much we can do but be on our guard," Derek explained.

"Scott agreed that Magda should never be alone," Isaac continued. "She's the one they're after, and we know that they have hunters' weapons, so we have to keep her safe."

"But then you're just putting everyone else in danger," Magda frowned.

"It'll be a volunteer basis," Derek said. "We're not forcing anyone to do anything they're not comfortable with."

Magda pursed her lips. "I don't want anyone getting hurt because of me."

"Don't worry about it, little pup," Derek said. "We're just worried about you."

"Der, could you give Aiden a ride back to his place please?" she asked him.

Derek nodded and motioned for Aiden to follow. Aiden gave Magda a kiss on the cheek before he left, following Derek.

"Is it really necessary for the 24/7 babysitting duties?" Magda asked.

"It really isn't much different than your everyday thing," Cora pointed out. "You're almost always with me or Isaac or Derek or Aiden, anyway. Now you just have extra reason to spend time with your favorite people."

Magda grumbled. "If someone gets hurt because they're with me, I'll never forgive myself."

"We're all very capable of defending ourselves if need be," Isaac pointed out. "Or do you need reminding that in all actuality, you are the newest werewolf and therefore the most at risk even if you weren't the target."

Magda pouted but said no more.

"C'mon," Isaac said with a small smile. "I've got the first shift of staying with you. It's been a while since we've hung out, so let's go do something fun."

"Alright," Magda smiled at him, feeling momentarily uplifted. "Let me get ready and we can go."

"So what is this something fun you have in mind?" Magda asked Isaac as she followed him.

"I dunno, I was just gonna wing it," Isaac admitted, shrugging with a smile. Magda just smiled at him and fell into step with him.

"So how have you been?" Magda asked him. "I feel like we haven't hung out in a while."

"You've been busy," Isaac shrugged. "But I'm alright. You know, usual teenage werewolf happenings. Torn between two halves of the same pack, hating my best friend's boyfriend, trying not to fail physics."

"Aww, I'm your best friend?" Magda cooed teasingly.

"Shut up," Isaac rolled his eyes with a smile. "You know, I have no idea where we're going right now."

"You're such a dork," Magda teased.

"Let's just go back to the loft and watch a movie?" Isaac suggested.

"It's like you read my mind," she smiled.

"This is such a stupid movie," Isaac complained. The two were lounging on the couch, shades drawn to make the loft darker.

"You chose it," Magda retorted, throwing popcorn at him. "Why you chose a movie about teenage werewolves, I have no idea."

"I thought it would be ironically interesting," Isaac shrugged.

"The effects are horrendous," Magda pointed out. "I do not grow a foot nor do I get all hunched over, and I do not erupt into that much body fur when I turn."

"No, that's just what you look like in the morning before a shower," Isaac teased. Magda smacked his chest.

"Look who's talking," Magda said. "Mr. Morning Breath and waking up with a hard on."

Isaac blushed. "I can't help that," he defended. "It's a physiological reaction to a good night's sleep."

"Yeah, and that's why you were moaning while I woke up completely freaked out. You know you never told me who you were dreaming about."

"Because that would give you too much power, and you're already scary enough as it is," Isaac said, face still warm.

"Aw, you think I'm scary, that's so sweet," Magda cooed. "You have been so oddly nice to me lately." She leaned her head on Isaac's shoulder, and he shifted his arm so it was around her shoulders. "As weird as it is, I kinda like it."

"I'm always nice to you," Isaac said.

"See, this is the Isaac I've missed," Magda said, completely ignoring the movie now. "The mean, funny Isaac. Not the dark, cold shoulder, broody Isaac."

"I have not been brooding," Isaac said.

"Whatever you say, wolfboy," Magda said. She sighed contentedly. "You know, besides Cora, you're my best friend too." Isaac smiled, but said nothing.

For a few minutes, neither said anything, letting the movie play, but neither fully paying attention to it.

"I've missed you too, Magda," he said after a while, kissing the top of her head and pulling her in closer to him. "I promise I'm not going to let them take you away from us. Over my dead body."

Magda kept her eyes on the movie, afraid of showing him the tears in her eyes. "I know you won't."

Yay, another chapter! I know I only have a few readers, but I appreciate you even more for it! Please leave me a review with any questions or comments!

Of course, I sadly do not own anything from Teen Wolf, just my original character Magda.
