CHAPTER TEN
Magda felt her heart clench as she watched Scott lead Derek, Cora, Isaac, Aiden, and Ethan towards the pack's campground. Each of them tried to catch her eye, but she looked at the ground, ashamed.
"You have something of ours," Derek said.
"Yes, the little bitch," the Alpha sneered. Aiden, Isaac, and Derek all bristled protectively.
Magda tensed as she watched the members of the Alpha's pack form a semi-circle around Scott and his pack, the Alpha in the middle.
"Why don't you come and get her?" the Alpha taunted.
Suddenly, a gun was shot, and Magda felt the rope slack as she fell to the ground. She sharpened her vision to see Lydia a distance away, a gun in her uninjured hand and a smirk on her face.
The gunshot seemed to be a catalyst, as instantly after, all hell broke loose.
The two packs attacked each other ruthlessly. Alison, Lydia, and Stiles were shooting guns and arrows at the other pack from a distance, trying to help even the odds as much as they could. Many missed their targets however, as they were afraid of accidentally shooting one of their own friends.
The Alpha stood a ways back, watching his pack fight.
Magda kept a wary eye on him as she removed the rope from her wrists and ankles. She rubbed her sore, burning wrists and ankles, doing a mental assessment of her physical capabilities. Although she knew she wasn't at 100%, she could still fight.
She quickly assessed the situation, watching each of her friends fight… for her. Aiden and Isaac were on either side of her, fighting off guys bigger than them, neither with the upperhand. Magda immediately pounced on the werewolf attacking Isaac, jumping onto his back. With her arm, she pulled his head backwards, exposing his neck for Isaac to quickly swipe, killing him instantly.
"Magda, are you alright?" Isaac quickly asked her.
"I'm fine," she brushed off. "But we have to help the others."
Magda went to the aid of Cora, who was battling the young female wolf. Though she was young, she was giving Cora a good fight. Magda easily equalized the fight, as she and Cora implemented a few of their team moves they had practiced a number of times against Derek during training. They quickly knocked the younger wolf out.
Meanwhile, Isaac went off to help Derek, who was taking on two wolves at once, not having a chance to think as they took turns attacking him. Isaac's help easily evened the odds.
Once Derek and Cora were alright, Isaac and Magda reunited once again, this time to the aid of the true alpha himself.
They quickly went to the aid of Scott, who was having difficulty fighting off two werewolves who were much bigger than him. When Isaac and Magda arrived, they were quickly able to knock them out.
"We have to go after the alpha!" Magda said as she crouched to catch her breath.
Scott nodded in agreement and the three of them approached the Alpha.
"The true alpha, the loyal beta, and the hopeful omega," the Alpha said as he moved into fighting stance. "Fitting that you will be the first three that I get to kill. It's almost poetic."
Feeling the rage boil under her skin, Magda attacked first, lunging at the Alpha, who easily dodged and flung her into a tree. She struggled to get back up.
Isaac growled at the Alpha who just laughed. Scott and Isaac looked at each other before they both ran at the Alpha. The Alpha was able to deflect Isaac, sending him flying towards Magda, but Scott managed to attack, biting the Alpha on the shoulder before being shaken off as well.
"Maybe I underestimated you and your pack, Scott," the Alpha said as he touched the blood on his shoulder. "But that doesn't mean I'm still not infinitely stronger than you."
The Alpha lunged for Scott, who ducked. Isaac appeared next to him and they were able to pin the Alpha's arms behind his back. Isaac put extra pressure and felt a little satisfaction at hearing the Alpha's arm break. He kicked the Alpha's back as hard as he could for good measure.
Magda walked over slowly to stand in front of the Alpha, her face still bruised and bloody.
Silently, she punched him square in the jaw.
"You ungrateful bitch," the Alpha spat. Scott and Isaac tightened their grip. "I made you who you are. You were a pathetic, abused foster kid when I met you. Now you think because you have a couple of strong friends, you think you're better than me? I made you. You would be nothing without me. You owe me."
"You're right," Magda said, her voice hoarse. "My life before the bite was terrible. A nightmare. Something I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy. You attacking me in that alleyway that night… biting me… leaving me to die… it was a blessing in disguise. Without you, I wouldn't have become stronger. I wouldn't have met Isaac. Derek. Scott. All my friends." Mia gulped. "But you've hurt them. You attacked my friends and you used me. And I don't let disgusting pigs like you do that to me anymore."
She punched him again. "You're filth." She kicked him in the stomach twice.
"Then kill me, little one," the Alpha taunted, spitting out blood. "If you even have it in you. Which I doubt you do. You're still an omega. A pup still, really. You couldn't kill me even if you wanted to… which I can see in your eyes you clearly do."
She grabbed him by the throat, applying pressure.
"Do it, little bitch," the Alpha managed to get out. "Do it and see if you're strong enough to live with it."
Magda stared long and hard at the Alpha before letting his throat go. She closed her eyes, her head hung.
"Scott, I can't," Magda said softly. "Even if I could, I can't. If I kill him, I become the Alpha. And I don't want that. At all."
"It has to be you, Scott," Isaac said. "You're already an alpha. A true alpha. It's your decision, your kill."
Magda silently took Scott's place, pinning the Alpha's arm back roughly, while Scott stood in front of him, looking troubled.
"I don't want to kill you," Scott said. "If you promise to leave Beacon Hills, to stop killing, then I'll spare your life."
The Alpha laughed. "You think you're so righteous, offering me a second chance. Go ahead, spare my life. But if you think I'm leaving this town without killing you, then you're even stupider than I thought."
With a burst of energy, the Alpha knocked both Isaac and Magda back, freeing his arms. He lunged for Scott, but Scott quickly ducked, throwing the Alpha off balance.
Magda and Isaac instantly got up and pinned the Alpha down against the ground.
"I gave you your chance," Scott said softly. "I'm sorry." Closing his eyes, he slashed the Alpha's throat.
As if sensing their leader's death, the other members of the pack stopped fighting, and turned to Scott, whose eyes glowed a bright red once he opened them again. He turned awkwardly as he realized everyone was looking at him.
"Say something, Scott," Magda whispered to him.
"Right," Scott said. "Uhm… Your Alpha is dead. I… I killed him."
"You're our Alpha now," one of the betas said, getting down on one knee, and what was left of her pack followed.
"No," Scott said firmly. "A pack is not earned in battle like objects. A pack is a group of people who care about each other. Protect each other. A pack is a family. And you are not my pack." They looked at each other, confused. "Leave Beacon Hills and don't come back. Don't kill any innocent people anymore. Don't drink and drive?" Isaac snickered and Magda closed her eyes in embarrassment. "As the true alpha… I command it."
After the remains of the other pack left, the rest of the group silently assessed their wounds.
Aiden was instantly by Magda's side. He gently touched Magda's bruised cheek, but pulled away when he winced.
"That Alpha better be glad he's dead, because I would have put him in a world of pain for what he did to you," Aiden said menacingly. Magda smiled lightly at him.
"It's okay, Aiden," she told him. "I'm fine now." She gently touched his chest, where there were long gashes bleeding through his shirt. "Are you alright?"
"It'll heal soon," he brushed off. "I'm just glad you're okay." Aiden kissed the top of her forehead. "I'm going to check on Ethan, alright? He got hit pretty badly." Magda nodded.
After seeing that nobody was mortally injured, they all headed back to Derek's loft. Magda sat silently in the backseat of Derek's car, staring out the window as Isaac stole glances at her.
As soon as everyone arrived at the loft, Derek grabbed Magda into a tight hug, surprising the young girl.
"I'm glad you're alright," he told her warmly. When he pulled away, he lightly smacked the back of her head. "Now don't ever do that again."
"Ow," Mia pouted. "I know. I'm sorry." She turned to Scott. "I'm sorry I put your pack in danger."
"You're our friend," Lydia answered. "We weren't going to let that sleazebag just take you."
Magda smiled warmly at the redhead. She moved towards her and gave her a hug. "That was a good shot, by the way."
Lydia smiled and shrugged. "Told you it couldn't be that difficult."
"I think we're going to all head out now," Scott said. "I'm glad you're okay, Magda."
"Magda, can I ask you something?" Isaac asked as they were getting ready for bed. He sat on the couch, his elbows on his knees.
"Shoot," Magda said.
"Earlier, during the fight… you had the choice to help Aiden or to help me… And you chose to help me. Why did you choose me over your boyfriend?"
"First of all, how many times do I have to tell you, Aiden is not my boyfriend," Magda said. "Second… do you really not get it yet?"
"Get what?" Isaac asked, getting frustrated. "Is it because you think Aiden is stronger than me and that I needed your help more? Do you think I'm stupid and weak?"
"Stupid, maybe," Magda commented. Feeling bold from the earlier battle, she made her way over to him and sat next to him, folding one leg up on the couch so her body faced him.
"Isaac look at me," she said softly. He turned his face and without another word, she placed one hand on his cheek and kissed him fully. Isaac's hand instinctively found its way to her hip, and he found himself kissing her back.
"I'm still confused," Isaac said when he pulled away. Magda could only smile. What she felt in that kiss… it was undeniable.
"I chose to help you, because as much as I do care about Aiden, it nowhere compares to how much I feel about you, Isaac," Magda told him. "When it came down to the line of risking my life and safety to help you or help Aiden… it was no question to me. It was always going to be you."
"But… you've been going on dates with Aiden, and kissing and…"
"And how did you feel about that?" Magda pushed.
"What do you mean?"
"How does it make you feel to think that I was spending so much time with Aiden? Kissing him. Laughing with him."
"Angry, for some reason," Isaac answered after he thought for a moment.
"Jealous?" Magda supplied.
"You dated Aiden to make me jealous?"
"Would you have realized how you felt about me if I didn't?" Magda asked back. "Do you know how you feel about me?"
"I…" Isaac started. "I don't like you kissing Aiden. I don't like him making you laugh the way he does, or you spending so much time with him."
"Why is that?" she pressed.
"Because I want to do that for you," Isaac finally said. Magda grinned.
"Finally!" Cora yelled from her bedroom.
"No werepuppies!" Derek called from his bed. Isaac blushed and Magda just laughed.
"Shut up and stop eavesdropping, you two!" Magda called back.
"Did you really mean it?" Isaac asked shyly.
"Mean what?"
"That you care for me," Isaac clarified.
"I have had feelings for you since the day you convinced me to stay in Beacon Hills," she told him. "I've just been waiting for you to catch up."
"So what does this mean for us?" Isaac asked.
"Whatever you want it to mean," Magda answered. She grinned. "Hopefully a lot more kissing."
"Definitely," Isaac grinned. "But… can we take the rest slow?"
"Definitely," Magda answered. "Things with Aiden are fun, but… this is different. This is more important. And I don't want to mess this up."
"But definitely more kissing, right?" Isaac grinned.
"Definitely more kissing," Magda said as their lips met again.

Please leave a review if you've read the chapter! It really does mean a lot to me when you take out a few extra seconds to write one.
