Chapter 22: Lovely Break

Just to let you know, this is NOT a hiatus update or anything, it's just a little socialization chapter for this episode. I always do one since episode 4 at the start of the episode before we get onto the missions. For this episode, I decided to name the island that the Mario Crew decided to play baseball on (Super Mario Sluggers/Super Mario Baseball) Baseball Island. I think Lakitu mentioned it near the start of the challenge mode but I don't think it really matters, so let's get on with it! XD Oh and by the way, I finally realized I forgot to close the poll for episode 5 so now I'm putting up a poll for episode 6, please vote on it if you're interested! By the way guys, I have updated a chapter of Survivor, FINALLY! XD

Nintendgal101: Nice suspect list! You didn't include Boomerang in it! XD Rosalina is mysterious, might she be the Mole? Might she be not? We will soon find out later into the game!

Toady: Boomerang took the bribe in order to make sure he at least go out of The Mole's door with something, not really to save anyone… But you can interpret a bribe anyway you wanted to, it's just a bribe, after all. XD But one thing is for sure is that either Daisy or Toadiko is going to get the boot for last episode, but might one of them be the Mole? For your not-Mole suspicions, I raised my eyebrow a bit at that, since I think you might be referencing to all three of Kris' Mole stories. XD

Previously on The Mole: Tricky Enemy:

All 6 players came onto the infamous Maze Island, which consists of a maze, obviously. At this new arena for this episode, physical abilities were tested. Of course, one is not suited for it.

Toadiko was nowhere to be seen.

Junior: And she fell behind… Again, she's hopeless at physical activities.

Aside from that, obvious sabotages were picked out. All the way from Toadiko's unacceptable physical performance, Junior's weird actions in the jail, Paratroopa's maze abilities, Rosalina's decisions to go for the exemption to Daisy deciding to disagree with Junior in the jail.

Always gunning for the incorrect people, the Mole struck down another victim, in another way thing time.

Monty took out a briefcase from under his table. "Here is 20000 coins, you can take these and go home tonight instead of facing a red screen. Paratroopa and Rosalina, you can even take it, it's a nice thing to take home when you don't really want to play anymore or when you are losing confidence. Just stop me anytime during the execution, and this offer will only be up this once. Good luck to you all."

Boomerang took the bait and took himself out of the game, saying he isn't fit for this brain stuff. However, his results that night was:

Yet he claimed it to be his smartest choice of the game. Might he actually not stand a chance on winning the money or might he actually be crowned as the winner if he never took the exemption? Well, all that lies ahead in the finale. For now, let us see our final 5.

Monty smiled as the Mole decided to visit him for once. It is very obvious that they had already finished one topic. "Mole, I cannot tell you if you are doing a good job or not, but please continue on."

"I know who everyone suspects because the producers told me before." The Mole smirked as they sipped their favorite green tea.

Monty chuckled, "Why, isn't it time for bed now? I'm glad to have this chat with you about your sabotages so far. Why don't you get some sleep?"

"Yeah, the Mole needs their beauty sleep." The Mole exited the place.

Daisy stretched her arms lazily as she yawned, tanning by the pool as she enjoyed the sunshine.

Daisy: Boomerang took himself out last night while there was still him, Toadiko and I still left on the block. He might've saved me so… Maybe Rosie wasn't the best Mole pick for now… But since there were no ties, might Boomerang be correct with Junior or might Toadiko be executed instead? Ugh, this game is frustrating.

Rosalina rested her arms on the side of the swimming pool as she gently kicked the water below her to stay afloat, "I wonder how your tanning work is going?" She questioned the other princess.

"Ah, I could go to work one day and maybe I will get a tan there, so I wouldn't try it here." Daisy casually replied before the two sharing a quick laugh.

Rosalina: At this stage of the game when I have no allies that I could still trust left, everyone is a suspect. I have ruled out Daisy previously, but might Birdo actually voted for someone else when she also thought that Daisy cannot be the Mole? I'm not sure at this stage…

Junior bounced into the pool, creating a splash. "Hi guys! Where are we going today?" The koopa prince asked with energy.

"My, don't you have energy to spare?" Rosalina chuckled.

"Eh, leave me out on the enthusiasm part, Paratroopa can take it." Junior dismissed it with a wave of his arm. "Say, where are we heading to?"

Junior: It is nice to be in the final 5, because you have outlasted over half of your fellow genuine players. But now it's the time to get really confused because I thought I might be able to stick with a suspect after coming to the final 5, but this tactic don't seem to be working for me anymore.

Toadiko then arrived with a cup of martini in her hands. "My bet would be Baseball Island. I have seen news reports about that place before, attacked by the certain son of Bowser." She teased as everyone laughed.

Junior blushed, "Hey! At least I'm not doing it anymore and am enjoying it with everyone!"

"True, I have changed my opinion on you ever since we started." Daisy approved.

Toadiko: If we are heading towards Baseball Island, then I am not that familiar with it, I'm pretty sure besides Junior and Daisy, Paratroopa has also visited the place before. I don't know about Rosalina, but with them having visited the place before, it only puts me and Rosalina if she hasn't visited it before at a tricky situation, since they are bound to have an advantage over us with knowing where to go to.

Paratroopa then hopped into the camera's view with a glass of coconut juice. "Hey guys!"

"See, I said that we should leave the enthusiasm part to him." Junior laughed a bit.

Paratroopa looked confused, "I have no idea what that meant."

Paratroopa: I don't know if I'm correct with my suspicions or not but there had to be a reason that I have secured a spot in the final 5. When I entered the game, I never thought I would make it past the third round, but here I am, in the final 5 of the game!

"Say," Rosalina started, "I have never visited Baseball Island before in my life, I believe Daisy and Junior has visited the place before, so please tell me a bit about it."

"Yes, I would like to hear about it as well." Toadiko concurred.

Rosalina: I think Toadiko and I are the only two that haven't been to the place before, and that is bound to give us a disadvantage in the area if we were to have a chase like last episode, since we literally have no idea where's where while the other do know where to go to.

Daisy rolled her eyes, "Well… How would I describe it…? Oh, yes, it's a fun place to be, and it is built by my best friend Peach and I decided to get a cruise ship there which served as the field sometimes."

"Hmm… Interesting, I have never really liked sport in my life…" Rosalina raised an eyebrow.

Toadiko: It is pretty strange how Daisy mentioned the fact that she owns a cruise ship on that island. Might that actually be a clue towards the Mole's identity? I have no idea, but the facts are so coincidental that it is hard to believe.

Paratroopa raised his hand next. "I remember Junior conducting an attack on the island, so I hid somewhere before the crew came to find me."

"I think it was in Wario City…" Daisy recalled the event.

"Hey guys," Junior caught their attention, "I just thought of it, but Toadiko and Rosalina are actually the only people that haven't been to Baseball Island out of the entire cast for this season."

Junior: I know that Boomerang and I are attacking the place at the time. Daisy was turned into a statue by me, Waluigi, Paratroopa and Boo had all been in Wario City during the event. Dixie and Birdo were in DK Jungle and Yoshi Park respectively during that time… Is it just a coincidence that the only two players that haven't visited the place before to be in the final 5?

"Greetings, final five." Monty addressed them as he came out. "Today, we don't have a tight schedule, however we do have a surprise for you. For the rest of the game, we will be travelling on this cruise ship, so please make yourselves comfortable. It also might be wise to have lunch in a few minutes since as soon as we dock at the Baseball Island, a challenge is going to commence." With that, he walked away.

After another while of silence as everyone thought hard about it, Daisy decided to speak up. "So, are we going to have lunch or not?"

"Let's have something good for lunch." Toadiko started, "I would cook but… Seeing there are other professionals, why not let them cook?"

Rosalina got out of the pool. "Maybe we could try the food at Fancy Shell again?"

"No!" Daisy shouted suddenly, surprising a few others. "Sorry, I hate fancy places."

Junior raised a hand. "I saw a nice diner just next to Fancy Shell. Maybe we could try the food there? It has a wide range of foods."

Daisy: Even though there is a traitor among us, we are getting along pretty well in my opinion, I mean, why not? We are a team, despite the fact that we are all fighting for ourselves, right? Why not get friendly a little bit when possible?

"Wow, it is pretty nice." Paratroopa commented as everyone went into the diner.

Junior smirked, "See? I said that there are fine restaurants here without being too fancy."

Paratroopa: To me, the fact that Junior kind of knows where everything is and what they are is kind of… Suspicious, even though I am happy for him to know the recommendations, it still isn't the best thing around… I couldn't help but to feel like that he is not a genuine player. How did he manage to know that many stuff by just walking around and browsing the place?

"I would like a veggie fry please." Toadiko ordered.

Daisy turned to her. "Why don't you have something good? Veggie fry is a bit plain."

"I actually don't find that much about food, really. I like vegetables, I could eat meat but I'm more of a fan of vegetables." Toadiko replied.

Daisy nodded as she rolled her eyes. "I'll take a mushroom steak then, please."

"I will order a beef steak." Junior said as he put his menu down.

Junior: Honestly, back at my place, everyone loves meat and steaks. But now I learned from everyone else that meat isn't the only thing around, and I have started eating a whole lot of new things. For this time though, let's go with the trend of making steak.

"I might take a fruit salad, if you please." Rosalina quietly decided.

Paratroopa was last. "Err… I guess I'll go with a chicken roll."

"So," Daisy started after the waiter left. "Might there actually be something important today?"

"There might be." Junior replied as he yawned.

Rosalina sighed. "It is actually quite tiring, coming onto this show, I mean. I have done so many things I thought I never will do."

"Same here," Toadiko smiled, "It's a lovely feeling to be here right now, in the final 5."

"The others that has been executed…" Paratroopa brought up.

Rosalina took over. "Yes, we should reflect on them a little bit."

"First we have Waluigi…" Daisy started as Rosalina made a disgusted expression.

Rosalina: I have a disliking towards Waluigi, sorry everyone, but I do not like him.

"My friend Dixie…" Paratroopa added with a sigh.

Paratroopa: I always wanted a coalition with Dixie, but before I even got to ask for it, she was executed. It's pretty harsh to me, because she was the one that I trusted the most out of the entire group.

Rosalina continued, "Birdo, she should've taken the exemption."

"But then maybe she will be here instead of one of us." Junior stated, "She didn't take it, and proved herself genuine. However she just had to be executed that night she played the hero, sort of."

"Heroine." Rosalina corrected.

Junior: I always think that if some people decided to take an exemption or go for another target, would they be sitting opposite of me instead of the four in front of me. It's quite confusing, since one of Daisy and Toadiko got the lowest score yesterday, but Boomerang took the hit for them.

"Boo," Toadiko said as she started tearing up. "He was a really nice person."

Daisy: Seeing Toadiko getting emotional, I know that she is very close to Boo. However, at the same time I also know that they are in a secret coalition which doesn't exist any longer because Boo's gone. Just like how Boomerang is now gone on my side.

"Finally Boomerang, he took a hit for either me or you, Toadiko." Daisy looked at the toad girl.

"He was kind, it was sad to see him go." Toadiko admitted.

Toadiko: Never less, I was very glad that Boomerang took the bribe, since I was on the edge of taking it when my name was called out, but the name was not entered. Seeing Boomerang taking the bribe and his screen turned green, I feel like that I was actually the lowest scorer, but let's not exclude Daisy yet, but I know that I still feel a bit guilty.

Monty then came to the players as soon as they are finished, the food already served to them. "Now, after we dock, please all choose a place to go for the following places: Mario Stadium, Peach Ice Garden, Yoshi Park, Wario City or DK Jungle. You will go into the place and you may remain there until 6 PM at night."

Toadiko: I heard Monty saying that we have to stay there from 2 PM to 6 PM. He told us about a mission earlier, but now it's just browsing? Something's not right here.

"Maybe I'll go to Peach Ice Garden. I'm really familiar with there." Daisy suggested, "I have a feeling that there is a mission over here."

Rosalina nodded, "I say that it would be safe to send Daisy to Peach Ice Garden. I would prefer to go to Yoshi Park myself, actually."

"No, I think you would like Wario City better, since I wanted to go to Yoshi Park." Paratroopa confessed as Rosalina nodded anyways, "Toadiko, how about you go to the jungle?"

"Yeah, I'm better with Mario Stadium." Junior admitted as Toadiko agreed.

Monty smiled, "I will retire to my room now, be warned though, if you don't make it back by 6 PM, the team will be penalized, please only go to the area you are supposed to go to or you will also be penalized. Anyways, you know who everyone's loved ones are, good luck." With that, he went away.

Paratroopa: Loved ones? So is there actually a mission that we are not informed of on the island?

As soon as everyone finished the food, the audio came through telling everyone they have docked.
