Standing at the foot of the Stargate, Jack was waiting as patiently as was possible for him, as the team that infiltrated Anubis' base slowly stepped out of the wormhole in front of him. Seeing their bruises and other obvious injuries, Jack glanced sideways at Daniel who was resting slightly on his crutches and Carpenter who had her wrist in a cast. Whilst Daniel had been shot by one of the Revolutionaries, Carpenter had needed to defend herself up close from one of them. The person walking towards them that looked the worst was Sam, her arm in a sling.
"Made it back alive then?"
"Yes, sir, and you rescued these guys. More or less un-hurt."
"Gun shot," Daniel admitted.
"A Revolutionary twisted it to snapping." Nicola then shrugged her shoulders. "It's okay, I killed him."
"Eventually," Daniel added. "We got the device though."
"Good we can try and find some way of stopping these soldiers," Jacob commented.
"Does anyone else think it odd that we first encountered aliens similar to these guys almost two years ago?" Daniel asked.
"Or that we could have damaged them a few months back when we stumbled on them?" Carpenter added.
"Lunch?" Jack asked, putting an end to everyone's constant questions. He did not want to be reminded of certain events, and he certainly did not want to believe that there were connections between any of the events of the past two years. That could then imply that there was a larger force at work, one which could still be working. For now, Jack was happier living in the dark.
