Sorry I haven't updated in awhile. I've had tons to do with school and stuff. So here is the next chapter and I'll get the next one out as soon as I can.
Chapter 6 (A not so secrete meeting, "Good morin' Sunshine!", and a deal.)
Blossom's POV:
It is two minutes 'till midnight and Brick still isn't here. The sound of the fountain is soothing in the night. Everything is covered in the moonlight, from the water to every piece of shimmering grass. I hear a rustling noise come from behind the bushes. A red cap comes out from inside the bush.
"Help me!" someone mutters in the bush. I put my hand in the bush to retrieve the person. I feel a strong hand lock onto mine and I pull with all my strength. Next thing I know, here I am with Brick on top on me. His shoulder length red hair stuck up in a crazy fashion, thorns all in his clothes, and cuts all over him. The one I notice the most is directly under his right eye.
"I'm so sorry princess!" Brick exclaimed as he jumped off of me. I giggle a little as he helps me up.
"I think you can stop calling me princess now." He looks at me puzzled.
"Just call me Blossom." I casually say as we start strolling through the garden.
"Ok…Blossy." He looked down at me with a smirk. We continue to walk in the peaceful moonlight garden hardly aware that we're being watched.
Unknown POV:
"Move I can't see!" I screech in the ear of the person beside me.
"Oh, sorry, I can't tell what their saying." He whispers from behind our hiding spot.
"Then we'll just have to move closer." I whisper back.
"Are you sure we should be spying on them like this?" Boomer questions as we slowly move toward the bushes in the shadows.
"This is nothing compared to what Buttercup would do if she found out about this."
"I can imagine." I could just barely see him roll his eyes in the shadows.
"Shhhh….. they're saying something." I hush him.
Bricks' POV:
We arrive at a small opening in the path where a small bench sat. It was a simple wooden bench, not much to it really. A tall apple tree stood proud a little bit to the left of the bench. A small wooden swing hung from ropes on one of the low branches. I hear a soft rustling come from behind us , but, before I could turn around to see what it was I heard some soft sobs coming from Blossom.
"Are you Ok? What's wrong?" I question taking her delicate face with my hand. I feel wet tears as I lift her face so I could look at it. Her face shimmered in the moonlight as tears flooded down her rosy cheeks.
"This was where my sisters and I came with my mother to have picnics every Saturday. She called it 'A day to be normal.' You know, without having to be 'royal' for a day." She paused.
"The last time I've been to this place was after her funeral. Buttercup couldn't take it….."
Flash back:
"…She was a lovely queen, kind, beautiful, caring,"
"SHUT UP!"I turn to see Buttercup standing, tears running down her face, and eyes red and puffy.
"Buttercup, sit down!" I whisper firmly.
"NO! Bloss, nothing's gonna be right now! Mom's gone and this guy has no time for us! Always gives an excuse about his 'Royal Duties'. That's a bunch of crap!" With that Buttercup ran out of the room. My father got up.
"No," He looks at me weird.
"Bubbles and I should go. She's already mad at you. It would just make things worse." I try to explain as gently as I could. Then Bubbles and I got up and raced after her.
"Stupid tree, stupid sun, stupid soldiers, stupid princesses…" We arrive to see Buttercup punching a dent in the once lovely apple tree.
"Buttercup," Bubbles whispers beside me.
"What are you two doing here? Begging me to come back Bubbles? Coming to lecture me again Blossom?" She grunts continuing to punch the poor tree.
"No, we're here to help." I say.
"Help with what? I'm perfectly fine." Buttercup hisses through her teeth and with the last word I hear a loud crunch come from her hand.
"Ahh!" Buttercup clutches her right hand.
"Let me help!" Bubbles exclaims as she runs over to Buttercup.
"No, I'm Fine." Buttercup hisses in pain, her bangs covering her eyes to hide it. I've seen her like this before. She shuts the world out and tries to fix it herself.
"Buttercup, I know you hate it, but YOU NEED HELP! I don't understand why you won't let us help you! We're your sisters! I know we're annoying at times, but so are you! I know you're the oldest and you feel like it's your duty to look after us and help us, but as your sisters it's also our duty to help you…." There is a long silence.
"So, let us help." Bubbles says.
"Fine." Buttercup finally says.
End of Flashback:
A crack sounds over us and the next thing I know I see my little blonde brother hovering over me with an innocent look on his face.
"Bubbles/Boomer!" We shout at the same time.
Bubbles POV:
"Um…."
"We…" Boomer and I both look at each other.
"We can explain..." Boomer begins.
"I can explain also." Brick surprisingly says.
"You two decided to spy on us because Bubbles intercepted my note before Blossom could read it. Bubbles also thought Boomer would want to come so she went and got him. You two have been stalking us all night." Brick states angrily. Both of our mouths drop.
"How do you..." Boomer starts out.
"Deductive reasoning…" Brick states seriously. He starts to smile.
"Come on Bubbles it's time to leave." Blossom says dragging me toward the castle.
Buttercups POV:
Once I wake up I see Butch's face right in front of mine.
"Ahh!" I jump up from the ground making Butch wake up. Butch draws out his sword and stands in front of me.
"What's wrong?" Butch urgently asks.
"Nothing, it's just a nightmare." I get up and dust the dirt off of my clothes. Butch puts his sword in his sheath.
"Oh, well I guess we should get back, sunshine. It is morning, about five to be exact." Looking at the sky Butch gets on Titan.
"Are you coming sunshine?" I just look at him.
"What?" Butch innocently asks.
"Why do you call me that? You know I could get you beheaded for it." I hop onto Jade.
"I call you that because it annoys you." Titan starts to walk out of the garden.
"Also," Butch stops Titan and without turning around says, "You wouldn't want to behead me."
"Why wouldn't I?" I cock a brow. Butch turns and smirks at me.
"Because, I interest you…" Without another word Titan starts running out the exit. I quickly follow.
Butch POV:
Once we get back to the castle it's around five thirty.
"I better get back to my room before anyone suspects anything." Buttercup yawns.
"Alright, good morning sunshine…" I smirk as she rolls he eyes.
"Bye …" She waves over her head as she walks to her room.
Brick's POV:
I walk over to Butch'es room and look inside. "Not here either…" Hearing a noise, I duck behind Butch'es wardrobe. First I see a leg, another leg, a head, a body, black hair, green eyes, and a large grin spread wide across the face. Once in the room Butch plops down on his bed and sighs.
"And where were you?" I come out from behind the wardrobe and Butch jumps.
"Gosh Brick, you can't scare a guy like that. I could've had a heart attack. What would Buttercup do then?" Butch leans against the wall on the side of his bed.
"Oh yeah, Buttercup, how is she? I heard from one of the servants that after your dance with her that you both left. Most of the people think she's sick. Is she? No one has seen her since you left." Butch'es eyes faltered just a tiny bit from the normal humor look he has to hide his emotions that I almost didn't see it.
"She said her stomach hurt so I took her back to her room. I guess she just didn't come out of her room." If I didn't know Butch so well I would believe him, but I do know him.
"So, what actually happened? If you tell me the truth now I might not ground you." I calmly state.
"You can't ground me!" Butch laughs. I give him a look, and he rolls his eyes.
"I took her into the forest." He moans.
"You what…..! All night…!?" I yell at the top of my lungs. The door slowly creaks open.
"Um, guys…" I hear a small voice whimper. "The king wants to see us." Boomer stood at the door. Butch looks like his life was just saved.
"This is NOT over." I warn.
Blossom's POV:
Buttercup yawns as we sit waiting for Dad to enter the room. Dad said it was very important. Buttercup is acting like she hadn't had any sleep. I did hear the servants saying she was sick last night. Buttercup's eyes look red and puffy, not in a crying way but a sick way. Buttercup actually looks pale.
"Achoo…" A small sneeze escapes Buttercup. She looks miserable. Suddenly the boys burst into the room. Brick looks ticked off, Boomer seems scared, and Butch looks annoyed. Butch looks up at Buttercup and seems shocked. Buttercup gives him her famous death glare and coughs.
After about a half hour of awkward silence Dad storms into the room.
"Sorry for being later, but a previous engagement took longer than expected." Dad announces.
"Of course it did…" Buttercup mutters and rolls her eyes. Now a coughing fit emerges from her throat. Dad doesn't even seem to notice.
"As you know there is a war going on between Ireland and Scotland…" Dad starts his long speech.
"Yes, we know." Buttercup interrupts. Dad keeps going.
"Once you were born the King of Ireland and I made a deal." Dad explains excitedly.
"Let me guess, the deal was that we wouldn't beat them too badly." Buttercup laughs. Butch joins her.
"No!" Dad shouts a little louder than necessary.
"Ok Dad, I was just kidding." Buttercup puts her hands up in a defensive position.
"That's the thing with you Buttercup, you're always joking! Why can't you just act more like your sisters! Why can't you act more like a princess?" Dad explodes. Buttercup's puffy eyes widen and then shrink. She almost says something but Dad stops her.
"I was going to try to make this easy on you girls, but Buttercup needs this told straight to her face. You are all getting married to Scotland's princes by the summer! Once Buttercup gets married she is going to stay with her husband, Breaker, in Scotland. Blossom and Bubbles will come back with Blake and Bleak. That is all." Dad mutters to himself storming out of the room.
Everyone in the room stays quiet for a while. One of Buttercup's coughing fits ends the silence.
"And the king called us in here because…?" Butch asks.
"Because he needs you to transport the princesses to Scotland to meet their fiancés, you all know as well as me that the road to Scotland is dangerous." We all turn to see Mitch.
"Technically, the road to Scotland ends at the port at the end of Ireland and then we take a boat the rest of the way." Brick points out.
"Whatever! The concept is that you guys are taking the girls to meet the fiancés in Scotland." Mitch growls.
"Don, don, dooooonnnn."Gir sings from Bubbles lap.
