Scarlett Spears' POV

"Spears! Up, now! Today's the last day!" I hear Jazmine yelling to me.

I lazily sit up, rubbing my eyes. Today is the feast, where no doubt, a victor will be decided. There are five tributes left, me, Jazmine, Cyra, Athena and Marble. Four of us will most likely die today, will it be me? Or could I possibly pull through and win this?

We gather our packs and weapons and begin the long journey to the cornucopia. We camped at the edge of District Five last night, so we have quite a hike ahead of us.

"When does the feast start?" I ask.

"I don't know, probably ten. That's the normal time," Jazmine responds, without even looking at me.

"And what time do you think it is?" I ask, nervous that we will be late.

"I don't know, 9:55. Close to ten, probably."

"What?! We won't make it in time!" I panic.

" Don't worry, we'll get there in time."

"No, we are going to be late!" I shout.

Before Jazmine can respond, a strange phenomenon occurs. I look at my ally to see that her hands are fading into a pixilated blur. I look at myself too and the same thing happens. Then, my arms begin to disappear, and then my chest and stomach.

"Jazmine! What is this?"

"It's a teleport. I knew the Gamemakers wouldn't just kill us like that. We're careers, the only worthy opponents. If they killed us, they wouldn't have a good show," Jazmine explains, as if it was obvious.

I take one last look at Jazmine before everything vanishes into a bright white light and I reappear at a pedestal in the cornucopia, much like the one that began the games, a week ago. Except, instead of the city surroundings, we are in the training arena. However, instead of the weapons being along the walls, five different tools are piled in the center. I see a bow and a quiver of arrows for me, an axe for Jazmine, a sword, a small knife, and a spear. The deathmatch arena seems dull compared to the others, but I don't let my guard down. The capital can be full of surprises.

A large clock in the center counts down from ten and I prepare to run for my life to the bow.

5...

I can do this.

4...

I'll take out the little kid first.

3...

Jazmine will take on One and Eight.

2...

But will she betray me?

1...

No time to think, time to run.

0...

I launch off of the platform and quickly snag the bow and arrows. I load it, targeting my first shot, Athena.

But a punch in the back messes up my shot and an arrow goes flying into the ceiling. I whirl around to find Jazmine with her axe in hand.

"There can be one winner. You knew this would happen," she sneers and laughs like a demented maniac. The last thing I see before death is her axe her insane smile.

Athena May's POV

A cannon, fires and I see the girl from Two drop dead and Jazmine laughing insanely. All around me, fighting is going on. Jazmine is chasing Cyra from eight and Scarlett lays helplessly on the ground.

"You're next, Eleven," I hear a shout from behind me as Marble come lunging at me with his sword. Luckily, I had grabbed the dagger from the center and I use it to defend myself. Marble's attack formations are much like Alex's, so it's easy to avoid getting killed. He swings at me with his sword, but misses, striking the ground instead. I take advantage of the moment when he is bent over and climb onto his back, my knife in hand. He attempts to throw me off, but I cling on. When I have perfect balance, I take my knife and stab him in the back. He is still thrashing so I tuck the knife into my pocket and grab his neck, breaking it. I hop down and take out my knife again, looking for anymore attackers.

Jazmine begins to charge at me, with her axe, but suddenly stops. I halt, too when I hear the rumbling noise coming from the center. The three of us look in awe as the cornucopia breaks apart and a dense fog comes spilling out, filling the entire room. I can barely see my hand in front of my face as I struggle to see in the haze. I sense movement on my right side and quickly turn, grasping my knife for defense.

The figures emerge from the haze right in front of me. My dad, and brothers appear from out of nowhere.

"Daddy?" I whisper, tears growing in my eyes.

"Athena! I missed you so much!" he comes running to me and holds me in a hug. My brothers soon follow him and surround me. I'm in pure happiness for a few mere seconds until it is torn away from me. I hear screaming in the distance and Hannibal drops dead. I look up to see that Tiberius stabbed him with a sword.

"Tibe! Why did you do that?" I scream.

"This is the Hunger games! No one lives!" he screams like a maniac. I watch in horror as Caesar clobbers dad in the head with a mace and turns around, only to be killed by Zeus.

"Zeus! Stop, please!" but my pleas are no use. I am helpless as my two living brothers, Zeus and Tiberius throw their swords, simultaneously, killing them both.

My family is dead! Wait, no! They're just mutts, only mutts.

The fog begin to part around me and I notice in the distance that Jazmine is fighting off a three headed President Cyprus and Cyra is warding off a colossal wolf. Jazmine gives a cry of fury and Cyprus drops to the ground, dead. Cyra, after many minutes of fighting off the wolf, she thrusts her spear and the wolf falls with a whimper. All of our mutts dead, we stare at eachother with different emotions. Jazmine is bloodthirsty, Cyra is nervous, and I am frightened out of my mind. It's down to the three of us.
