The sleigh soared through the night sky towards the North Mountain. Elsa sat next to Jack at the back, apologising every time they collided as the sleigh moved. Elsa felt herself blush as Jack's arm bumped hers. She turned away so he wouldn't see her red cheeks.
The wind whistled past sending a chill down Elsa's spine. She shivered suddenly, wrapping her arms around herself.
'Are you cold?' Jack asked loudly but kindly. He had to shout to be heard above the roaring wind.
Elsa nodded. 'Little bit,' she admitted.
Jack spread his arms, gesturing for her to lean into them. Too cold to argue, Elsa scooted closer to Jack. It's only for warmth, she told herself. It's not like it means anything.
Jack felt Elsa's body press against his as she snuggled into him. She fits perfectly, he thought. It's like she was born to complete me. He gazed at the beautiful queen next to him. How he longed to tell her how he felt.
'You should try to sleep,' Jack suggested. Elsa raised her head and looked at him.
'But what about you?' she asked. 'You must be tired too.'
Jack was tired. But Elsa was more important to him. He shook his head. 'Not at all. But you definitely need sleep,' he added when Elsa yawned.
Elsa felt her eyelids become heavy. Jack was right. She needed to sleep. Elsa rested her head on Jack's shoulder and leant into him. She felt his arm tighten around her shoulders protectively. This is nice, she thought. But we can't be like this. I made it clear I wasn't interested. It would be unfair to Jack if I liked him. And I don't, she argued with herself. What I feel is just a passing phase. Nothing more.
With her conflicting thoughts swirling like the wind, Elsa closed her eyes and fell asleep.
