(Still written on my phone)

Sophie carefully pressed the bag full of ice to her forehead and gasped in pain. The sun was going down outside her window, shooting rays of light into her bedroom. She saw the dust swirl around in her room and sighted irritated. She'd have to clean her room if her mother would notice it. Marcia had come home a few moments after Jamie and Sophie had closed the door. When she saw the cut on Sophie's forehead, she has became worried at first, but then angry. When she found out that they only had gone out sledding, she got even more frustrated, thinking that Sophie had skipped doing her homework.

"You shouldn't be outside playing when your future depends on if you do your homework or not!" She had said, and Sophie had rolled her eyes at her behind her back.

"Mom, just listen..."

"What are you going to tell your teacher? That you didn't do your homework because you wanted to go outside playing?"

"Listen!" Sophie had yelled, making Marcia's head snap to her. "I finished my homework before we went outside!"

Sophie's mom had been quiet for a moment. Then she narrowed her eyes. "What about Jamie?"

"What about Jamie what?"

"Did Jamie finish his homework?" Sophie felt her heart sink. "I... I don't know. Does it matter? He can finish it now if he hasn't already..." Sophie tried to add, but her mother had already disappeared around the corner. Sophie swallowed and followed her, to see what would happen. She entered the kitchen and saw Jamie sit on one of the kitchen chairs with his eyes fixed on his lap while his mother scolded him.

"Mom, stop. It's not his fault, and besides, why can't he just do it now?"

Her mother had ordered Jamie to go upstairs and finish his homework, then she'd started yell on her. Sophie had tried to be quiet, but the anger that was boiling inside her wasn't easy to keep inside. She had argued back and her mother told her not to talk back at her, and it ended with Sophie being grounded the next weekend.

Now she was calmer, but her anger still lay like a sleeping lion inside. The 'injury' hadn't been so deep, more like an abrasion than a real wound. What hurt the most was the bump that had swollen up on her forehead and made her look like a goat with only one cusp. She groaned tiredly and sat up, throwing the bag of ice on her nightstand and stood up impatiently. She drummed with her hands on her legs and tried to keep her thoughts away from the pain that pounded in her head. She sat down on her chair by her writing desk and spun around until she became dizzy and had to stop. She went over to her bookshelf still on her chair, and picked out a book for her to read. She placed it on her writing desk and started reading with her head resting on her hand and her elbow on the table. Soon she felt her eyelids become heavy, and her head fell down on the book as she fell asleep.

The next day was horrible. First, she overslept and came to school fifteen minutes late. Next she had forgotten her homework at home, and earned a disappointed look from her English teacher. And it must've been bad luck when a snowstorm decided to begin right when she started walking home.

"Thanks, Jack Frost. I see you love me," she murmured irritated as a cold wind blew snow and ice in her face. When she closed the door home, her hands were ice cold and she could almost not feel her toes.

Dinner was eaten quietly, unlike any other evening, when Jamie used to tell then how his day was. Now he sat silently and played with his food while leaning his head on his hand and with his elbow on the table for support. He looked a lot like Sophie at that moment, Sophie thought and hid her smile behind her glass full of water.

"Jamie, no elbows on the table," her mom said without even looking up, and Jamie sighted irritated, but did as she asked while straightening up.

Sophie took a bite from her grilled beef, and then put her cutlery down on her plate, stood up and pushed her chair towards the table.

"What are you doing?" Sophie's mother asked.

"I'm going to bed, not feeling very well", Sophie lied. Her mother hesitated for a moment, but then nodded and continued to eat her food. Sophie put her plate on the bench beside the sink, and then made her way upstairs, towards her room.

Tiredly, she lay down on her bed, and pulled her sheet over her shivering body, and almost directly drifted off to a peaceful sleep.

As I wrote in the beginning, it is the worst chapter I've ever written! But I just wanted Sophie to get grounded:3 but the next chapter will be uploaded now! And I hope it's better than this one:/

Thanks for reading!
