Prompt: Sirius sees Marlene for the first time as a girl

Marlene had always been his best friend, second only to James.
She had never been anything else. She was just the girl he grew up with, the girl he ran away with, the girl that knew him better than anybody else. But thats all. It wasn't until later that she became the girl he would give his heart to.
Standing at the station, for the first time he looked at his parents standing with his brother, so very far away from him, and he felt a lightness that he had never felt before, although there was some sadness buried deep down.
They didn't look at him, he thought he caught Regulus sneaking a glance every now and then, but other than that there was nothing. Part of him was happy, the other part, well he wasn't quite sure what that other part was.
Someone squeezed his hand gently, and he looked down and saw Marley. Her blonde hair had grown out over the summer, and as her eyes met his and she smiled, he felt a little tug at his heart that he'd never felt before.
It wasn't that he hadn't realised she was a girl, he had realised that in third year, what boy hadn't? It was just that he had never really noticed she was a girl, he'd never noticed how beautiful she was, or how much he loved the feel of her hand in his. He'd never known how much he loved her laugh and her smile or the way her eyes flashed when she was angry.
Until now.
As she smiled at him, the tug on his heart got bigger, and as he smiled back, he realised this was the beginning of a love story.
