It had been two weeks since I found out I wasnt a Braxton and almost three since the accident. I was aboutto start school again. I wasnt anxious infact I didnt care. My life had no meaning to me. I sat on my bed with my bag at my feet. I kept staring at the plastic brace on my wrist. I was starting to get annoying. '
Get up, go to school' I kept telling myself I got up and walked out the door. As I walked to school I went past the beach. I saw all the people surfing. I felt depressed about the fact that I still wasnt allowed to. I was litterally counting down the days. When I got to school It still looked the same. No different thanks to the Mangrove kids
"How are you?" Maddie asked with spencer behind her
"Yeah i'm fine thanks" I replied getting my stuff out of my bag.
There was an awkward silence
"Do you want to hang out with us today?" Asked spencer
"Ah thanks but no thanks. Maybe Later"
"OK sure" Said spencer "Good luck today"
As I was walking to Biancas office I saw Josh
"Hey Braxton" He said as I walked past I turned around and waited for him to come up to me "I'm not a Braxton"
He looked at me
"I'm serious"
"Meet me at the beach at lunch"
'Why?"
"Just do it?"
"Fine" I replied walking off
Why would he want to meet up with me. I thought the Barretts and the Braxtons didn't like each other but that ddnt matter because I wasnt a Braxton When I got to class all the Mangrove kids looked at me. Jett shifted his stuff to make space, an indication he wanted me to sit next to him. He smiled and I smiled back
"You alright" He asked
I nodded in agreement. I wasnt up to talking
I was trying to concentrate but I could feel their eyes burning into the back of my head. I felt a piece of paper hit me in tha back. I turned around and picked it up. Jett took it out of my hands before I could un-scrunch It.
"What does it say?" I asked
"Nothing you need to worry about" He replied
"Jett..."
"Every thing alright?" Asked Mr McGuire
"I think Lani and Jett are having a lovers tiff" Matt yelled from the back of the class.
"Shut-up Matt" I said
"So its true is it?"
"Where do you get off Matt?"
I heard him whisper to his mates
"Shut up!" I yelled standing up and turning around I ran out the door and out of the school.
I know I shouldnt have come to school today. I sat on the beach staring at the ocean
"Hey Lani" I heard a voice behind me
"Hey" I replied
"Didnt think youd be coming"
"Almost didnt" I repied
"Why?"
I shrugged my shoulders
"Im sorry to hear about you and Brax"
"What are you doing here anyway"
"I know who attacked you" He said "And I know you know as well"
