Stereotypes are like barbed wire fences stopping you from showing who you really are, so you have to create a facade, be something else to hide something unpleasant. A short fuse, foul temper, and powerful.

25. Don't be sorry

BRAX P.O.V

I was glad I found Danny but at the same time disappointed. What if the DNA results came back and we didn't like the results. I know we'd just have to deal with it. Lani and I sat at the table waiting for heath and Casey to come back. She was drawing something on a piece of paper.
"What you drawing?" I asked
"Nothing" She replied
Casey and Heath walked through the door.
"Hey I got the mail" Said Casey
Lani lifted her head and sighed
"Bill, bill, junk, hey something for Lani" He said throwing the letter at her.
She looked at it "I'll be in my room" She said getting up and taking the letter with her.
Heath was about to follow her. "Oi Heath" I said
He turned around and sat at the kitchen table

LANI P.O.V
The last month had been the longest month of my life. I sat on my bed staring at it before Casey walked in.
"Hey" He said
"Hey" I replied
"I cant open it" I said handing it to him
He opened it and began to read it. He handed it back to me. It was easier to read then I thought. Part of me was shocked by the result, part of me wasn't
"OK" I sighed
"Im sorry Lani" He said
"Don't be" I replied getting off my bed and walking out of the room.

CASEY P.O.V
I felt sorry for Lani. I don't know what would have been better, if it said yes or it said no. I followed her into the kitchen where Brax and Heath were. They all had the same reaction I had.
"Well that was exciting" Heath Joked
No one was laughing.
Brax went up and hugged her. That night dinner was quiet.
"Have you got the results back yet Lani?" Ricky asked hesitantly.
"Yep" She replied "Its official I am a Braxton."
"You're a Braxton" She repeated
"Im a Braxton" Lani Laughed
"Whats wrong with that" Asked Heath
"Nothing" Replied Lani
For once we were all happy and laughing. I missed it when my family used to be like this. I was hoping this family would last forever but everyone knows that's not possible

LANI P.O.V
We were all laughing but I don't know why. It was like someone had happy gas in the kitchen. We were all happy and smiling. We were officially one big happy family. Ok time to end the story here. I wish I could but no. Things were about to get bad again. we couldnt stop what was about to happen so I guess I better enjoy these days while they last. Treasure the memories with my brothers and all the events that happen in my life. They could be the last good ones for a long while.
