Something caught my eye. Someone was walking towards Brax. I didn't know who they were. Before I knew it all hell broke loose
"She's got a gun!" Someone yelled
"Brax NO" I screamed. I tried to run towards him but Casey was holding me back
Someone pushed past us to try to stop her but it was too late. 1 gun shot. 1 person down. I watched them slowly fall to the ground. everything was going in slow motion.
LANI P.O.V
Everything finally went back to normal. I turned around to bury my head in Casey's chest. I looked up and I was shocked.
"Josh?" I questioned
I turned around to see Heath and Ricky down on the ground. Casey had run out to protect Brax and Josh was the one who stopped me.
"Casey!" I screamed
"Lani, No" He said grabbing onto my arm pulling me back
"Hey is he alright? Ricky!" Brax asked as the cops pushed him up against the van.
"Brax are you OK!" Asked Ricky
"Its Casey is he alright?"
Ricky and Heath went running towards him.
"Is he OK?" Brax yelled again as the cops loaded him into the back of the van
I turned around and buried my head in Josh's chest, the last place I thought I would be.
"Its gonna be OK" He whispered
HEATH P.O.V
I watched my baby brother run towards a loaded gun. Why didn't I try to stop him.
"Casey, it's gonna be alright mate" I said kneeling next to him
He was drifting in and out of consciousness.
"Lani" He mumbled
"She's alright mate." I said Holding his hand
I could see that he had been shot in the chest.
'its gonna be alright' I kept saying to myself
Not long later the ambulance was there to take Casey away. I didn't want to lose both my brothers on the same day. Lani was already in the car when I went over to it. Her face was pale like she had just seen a ghost. She got out of the car and came running towards me.
"Heath" She Cried
"Its OK" I said hugging her
Feeling your little sister in your arms crying so hard that she is physically shaking is the worst feeling I've felt in my life.
"Don't worry, he's gonna be alright" I whispered
BRAX P.O.V
His whole life I told him I don't need him looking after me. Why couldn't he listen, but I guess that's what little brothers do. The drive to jail was daunting. I couldn't see where we were going or where we had been. I was the only brother to have never been in jail. I kept thinking about Casey and Lani. This had just ruined their lives even more.
LANI P.O.V
We sat in the waiting room all just about to fall to sleep. Not long ago Casey was in this situation now we've swapped places. I looked at my watch. He had been in surgery for an hour and a half. I hoped he would be alright. I heard footsteps coming down the hall. I knew I wouldn't be Nate but I still didn't know who it was.
"Heath" She said
"What are you doing back"
"Court, Gun shots! Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't want to bother you with it"
She looked at him shocked "I'm your wife, you can bother me with anything"
"I'm sorry, I'm so glad your back"
The kissed then hugged each other. I looked at Ricky looking at them. I could see that she was hurting. It would be 15 years before she could kiss Brax on the lips again.
I looked at the envelope on my lap.
'should I open it?' I kept thinking to myself
It got the better of me and I opened it. I opened the card that was inside. I tried to read it. My brain wasn't in reading mode. I put the card back in the envelope and put it in my pocket. I looked up and saw Nate standing in front of us. I felt my heart stop and the air going out of me.
"How is he?" Asked Heath
