Stereotypes are like barbed wire fences stopping you from showing who you really are, so you have to create a facade, be something else to hide something unpleasant. 35. I don't believe you

HEATH P.O.V

I threw my phone on the table in a fit of rage. I can't believe she had done that. Brax had only been in jail for 3 days and she was already going off the rails. I walked into the police station and saw Lani sitting against the wall.
"What did you do that for" I asked
"I didn't do it" She replied
"Yeah right, next joke"
"Is everything alright here" Constable Jackson asked coming up to us
"Just peachy" I replied
Lani saw there looking away from me with her arms folded like a bratty teenager
"Can I go home yet" She asked
"Not until we interviewed you, and now that Heaths here we can"
"Fine then" She said getting up

We went into the interview room. It was cold and dark. I had never pictured me being in here with Lani.
"Do you know why your here" She asked Lani.
"Yep, cause you think I tagged the surf club wall"
"Well how can you explain the fact that the spray can was in your possession"
"Found it on the ground" She said leaning back into the chair
"You know that's not true"
"Just like you know I didn't do it" She said looking her in the eyes
"Drop the attitude Lani" I said to her
She looked at me but didn't say anything
"You know what I don't get" Lani asked
"What's that" She replied
"How you think I did it when I'm dyslexic"
She looked at her puzzled
"Can't even do an essay let alone tag a wall"
I looked at her. She had the smirk on her face like Brax did whenever he got into trouble.
"So who did it then" She asked
"Dunno" She said shrugging her shoulders "But it would be really helpful if you could tell me how you think I did it so I know how to do my exams" She smirked
I had to roll my eyes at her. She had become a real proper Braxton.
"Can I go now" She said leaning forward.
The cop looked at her, "Fine but expect to be hearing from us later on"

The drive home not a word was spoken. When we got home she quickly got out of the car and slammed the Ute door shut.
"Oi, we need to talk" I jelled getting out of the car
"Shot then" She replied standing in front of the car.
"Who did it" I said
"I. Don't. Know." She said walking up to me
"Seriously Lani, who was it" I yelled
She looked at me "I don't need to hear this"
She turned around and walked off. I got inside after her and saw Ricky and Bianca in the lounge room.
"What happened" Asked Ricky
"She got caught tagging the surf club wall" I replied "She keeps denying it though"
Bianca came up to me "Did she say who did it"
"Nope" I replied "I um, I need to tell you something"
"What" She asked
"Lani's dyslexic"
"Why didn't you tell me before"
"She didn't want me to"
