Chapter 4

HONEYDEWS POV

"Frater!" He called, grabbing the lock of the cage and closing his eyes. What are you doing friend? To my surprise, and everyone else's, including Ridge and Israphel, his body started to glow, his eyes opening to reveal bright lights of blue. The lock in between his hands started to melt, the liquid running from his palms and into the lava below. The door swung open and he stepped out, brushing the dust from his trousers, smirking at Israphel as he gaped at him. His fingers ran up to the pendant round his neck, his eyes glancing at Lom beside me, before he jumped slightly, rising into the sky. His hair blew around him, though not a breeze was in this lair.

"Get him!" Israphel shouted, pointing at the flying man in the sky. Arrows flew towards him, zombies jumping to get him. Ghasts shot fire, crying out as he flicked his wrist, sending them flying back at them. He flew higher and higher, out of the range of arrows, away from the few of ghasts. And then he started falling, screaming. His body was back to normal, his eyes closed as he desperately searched for something to grab onto. Lomadia ran towards the edge, screaming as she watched her loved one fall. Fall and fall. Everyone else was silent. Everyone except for Xephos and Lomadia. But then they were silent to. Because Xephos stopped falling. Because he had landed. Ridge had jumped last second, tackling Xephos mid-air and saving his life. Israphel screamed, pointing at Ridge who had a panting spaceman in his arms. Lomadia started crying falling to her knees with relief. Nano ran over to her, hugging her best friend. Hat films let out there breathes, shaking slightly as Sips and Sjin looked from between their fingers. And I? I just laughed. The one thing that came naturally to me. I laughed because my best friend had survived.

Israphel turned to us, hissing as his sand made a bridge towards us, the zombies, creepers and skeletons turning to face up, before running straight to us.

"Run!" Rythian screamed, pulling Zoey and Teep behind him as he made his way to the stairs. I ran to Lom, pulling her up after me, going as fast as my little dwarfen legs could take me. Everyone was jumping up the stairs as Ridge flew behind us, whispering Latin in Xephos' ear, who had fallen unconscious the second everything attacked. I looked over my shoulder, gasping at how close Israphel was and pushed harder, knowing that red eyed bastards was 10 stairs below. I could hear his hisses as we ran out of the cave, into the brightness. Of course! He couldn't follow us out here! Nothing did, staying behind their master. Ridge stopped, floating a few blocks above us. He slowly came down and said;

"Follow, as we have 2 hours maximum to get to shelter. My castle will be able to hold them back, but is an hour, maybe 2 from here. We must hurry, as Xephos needs treatment." And he started walking in the direction of his home.

"Wait!" Lomadia cried out, "What did Israphel say about Xephos?"

"Nothing of importance. I will tell you when were in safety," Ridge replied.

"One second sir," Rythian spoke up from the back, "I can teleport us to your castle."

"Won't that tire you out?"

"Of course, but it is better than walking," Rythian stated, before grabbing everyone and teleporting us to Ridge's castle.

The castle was impressive, towering higher than many mountains, blocking the lowering sun from view, the looming shadows like hands, beckoning us inside.

Ridge flew hurriedly towards the stairs that wound themselves around the hill the structure lived on, ignoring us all gaping at his home. Lomadia was the first to move, following Ridge up the stairs, pulling Nano behind her. Lalna soon followed, followed by myself. Everyone else followed at a slower pace, taking in the views.

When I reached the top, I spotted Lalna waiting for me by an elevator. I smiled at him before jumping in the lift, waiting for Duncan to push the button to go up.

"Going up," he smiled weakly. I could see he was worried by the way he fiddled with the bracelet Nano gave him for Christmas. I chuckled at his attempt to lighten the mood. He was a good man, a fine friend, and deserved more than he got. He deserved Nano.

The doors closed as we whizzed up, before we stopped and the doors moved back, allowing us to step out of the machine. I don't think I was ready for what I saw.

Helllloooo friends! I am here! I haven't disappeared! I was just busy with having to go back and forth to hospital and never had time to update. I've had this chapter in the works for a while, but it seems right to update now, so here we are!

Anyway, please review! They make my day!
