Chapter 7!
It had been a week since Harry had found out about his parents being back. He hadn't seen them, Dumbledore or even Sirius and Remus since that day in Dumbledore's office and Harry was quite happy about that. He refused to talk to anyone about his parents and spent all his time trying to keep them out of his mind.
Currently he was out playing quidditch with Ron, Ginny and a very scared Hermione. "Get me down! I don't like flying!" screamed Hermione, hysterically. Harry chuckled at the terrified girl who was barely 10 foot off the ground and holding onto the broom for dear life. Harry Ron and Ginny were all up much higher than the screaming girl.
"I'll help her," laughed Ron, flying down towards Hermione. Harry and Ginny watched as Ron managed to convince Hermione to point the broom towards the ground. She went shooting down and landed her head.
"Ow," she muttered. Harry laughed and he and Ginny continued playing Quidditch.
Meanwhile, Ron led Hermione back into the house. Mrs Weasley saw them and rushed over. "Oh, Hermione dear," she said sympathetically.
"I'm fine Mrs Weasley!" insisted Hermione. Mrs Weasley raised an eyebrow. "Honestly, I'm ok!" said Hermione, again. Mrs Weasley was about to say something when there came a knock at the door. Mrs Weasley went over to the door and opened it. Remus Lupin and Sirius Black stood in the doorway.
"Molly, do you mind if we come in?" asked Remus. Mrs Weasley quickly moved out of the way and let them in.
"Sirius, shouldn't you be at Grimmauld Place? I thought Harry's birthday was just a one-off. This is dangerous Sirius!" said Mrs Weasley, worriedly. Sirius and Remus exchanged looks.
"Molly, when was the last time you read the newspaper?" asked Sirius. Mrs Weasley thought for a moment.
"Not for ages. I don't get it anymore," replied a confused Mrs Weasley. Rona and Hermione were equally confused. Remus sighed and conjured up the Daily Prophet.
"Read that. It's from a few days ago," said Remus, throwing it onto the table. Mrs Weasley, Ron and Hermione looked at it.
LILY AND JAMES POTTER - ALIVE?
SIRIUS BLACK - INNOCENT?
Were the headlines on the front page. Mrs Weasley turned to the next page to read the article.
The Ministry of Magic has recently taken Black off the most wanted list and Black is no longer wanted. He will not be returning to Azkaban prison because his innocence has recently been proved by the two most unlikely people.
Yesterday Albus Dumbledore showed up at the Ministry of Magic with two cloaked strangers. These strangers were later revealed to be none other than Lily and James Potter, parents of the boy who lived! Apparently the two Potters have been alive the whole time and living in Ireland, refusing to come back to the wizarding world.
On their son's sixteenth birthday, they decided to come back to the wizarding world. Albus Dumbledore was the first to be notified on their return. He said he did everything he could to make sure they were who they say they were. Lily and James Potter refused to tell the Prophet anything and it is unknown where they are at this minute.
Nothing has been revealed of their reunion with their son. How has the boy-who-lived taken this news? Is the chosen one finally truly happy or is he angry at his parents for leaving him. We are determined to find out.
The minister has commented on this as one of the most shocking revelations of recent years. "It's hard to believe that the Potters never died, but we here at the ministry fully support them in their return to the Wizarding World!" The minister was unable to say more as he was very busy.
We, here at the prophet, will try to find out everything we can to keep the wizarding public aware of what is happening.
Sirius Black has barely come into the public eye lately as he has already been arrested or attacked several times. It appears it will take some time for the wizarding public to come to terms with Sirius Black's innocence and the return of Lily and James Potter.
"Frankly, I'm surprised Arthur doesn't know anything about this with him working at the ministry and everything," said Sirius, sitting down at the table. Mrs Weasley shook her head.
"No, he probably does know, but he's been away on a business trip for the past few days. I'm sure he assumed somebody else would tell me," said Mrs Weasley, not particularly interested in what she was saying.
"I wonder how Harry'll react to this," said Hermione, softly.
"Speaking of Harry, where is he?" asked Sirius. Ron looked up at them.
"Outside with Ginny, but I'm not really sure he wants to talk to you right now. I think it would be best to leave him alone for a while," said Ron, very quickly. He knew Harry would get angrier if his parents were brought up and that would result in him being in a foul mood for the rest of the day, which was the last thing anybody wanted or needed. Sirius raised his eyebrows and sighed.
"Harry's going to have to accept this sooner of later! He can't stay angry at us, after all it's not just about him. There's Lily and James to think off as well as Alex and Daniel. He can't ignore them forever. They're his family! He'll regret it if he keeps pushing them away!" insisted Sirius. Ron sighed. He knew there was no way of stopping Sirius from talking to Harry.
"Fine, I'll go get him," Hermione followed Ron out the door. A few minutes later Harry came into the house by himself. Mrs Weasley had gone into the sitting room so it was just Sirius and Remus in the kitchen.
"What are you two doing here?" asked Harry, angrily.
"We came to talk," said Remus calmly. He gave Sirius a look that said, 'be careful what you say'. Harry snorted.
"What makes you think I'd wanted to talk to you bastards?" he snarled, viciously. Sirius and Remus winced at the harsh tone in Harry's voice. Sirius gave Harry a pleading look.
"Harry why are you angry at us? You know we didn't lie to you!" demanded Sirius. Harry rolled his eyes.
"You know me! You should've told them to go back to Ireland. You should've told them I'd never want them back in my life!" he roared. Remus sighed. "And how do you just forgive them! Sirius look what they put you through!
"You're parents are some of my best friends. I thought they were dead and I just can't let them go. It's not their fault I went to Azkaban. At first I was angry, but I couldn't stay angry. Please understand! We couldn't tell them to leave! Harry all you've ever wanted is your family!" Sirius said. Harry refused to answer. "You know you'd hate us even more if we made your parents leave you again! Admit it!" Harry still said nothing. Sirius suddenly came up with a good idea.
"Harry when you looked in the mirror or Erised in your first year, what did you see?" Harry never told Sirius what he saw, but Sirius was positive he knew. Harry sighed.
"My parents, but I didn't want to know they abandoned me! I just wanted them to never have died!" Harry defend himself. "They left me! They didn't wait for an explanation! They just left and I can't forgive them for that! I can't forgive them for letting me grow up with the Dursleys, or for letting me live in a cupboard for half my life, or for letting me be starved by the Dursleys. They put bars on my window and a dog door on my bedroom door to slide in my meals! They treated me like an animal! All those years I was miserable when I could've been happy with my parents in the wizarding world! How can I forgive that!" by now Harry was fighting to hold back the tears. He put his head in his hands. Sirius and Remus looked at each other.
"Despite all that, what do you think you would see if you looked in the mirror of Erised today?" Harry didn't answer and this told Sirius and Remus all they needed to know. Harry knew what he would see, but he didn't want to admit it. After a few moments Harry whispered something.
"Them," he said softly. Sirius reached over and gave Harry a hug. When Harry pulled away, he looked at them with sad eyes. "But I can't! I just can't forgive them!" he said, furious with himself. "I want to, but I can't!" he said, mentally kicking himself.
"Give it time. Things might change. Please just talk to them at least!" said Remus. Harry shook his head.
"No! Everytime I think about them or I see them I just get so angry! I just want them to leave," said Harry. He felt ashamed for saying this. Harry felt ashamed that he hated his own parents. He was ashamed that he wished he still thought they were dead.
"Harry that's not going to happen. Like it or not, you have to try! You've got to try for them, for yourself and for your siblings. You have a little brother and sister, Harry. You have a chance to have a family here. All you have to do is try!" said Sirius, pleadingly. He was determined to get Harry to accept his parents. Harry opened his mouth to reply, but no sound came out. He just sat down, feeling angry. He felt angry at his parents and at himself.
"We're going to go now. We'll give you some time to think things over, Harry. Tomorrow, Dumbledore will be bringing your parents over. Just prepare yourself and like Sirius said, try!" said Remus, pulling Sirius away. "Bye," Harry muttered a quick goodbye and ran upstairs. He wasn't ready to face them and Harry wasn't sure if he'd ever be ready!
Well here it is! I really hope you guys like it! It took ages to write, but it was a pretty easy chapter to write because Remus and Sirius' character basically just wrote themselves. please review! I worked really hard on this chapter and I do it all for the reviews! I love coming onto fanfiction and realising some people reviewed my story! That's what makes me keep writing, to know people WANT me to continue! Please, please review! And I really hope you liked this chapter.
By the way, I changed Harry's brother's name from Brandon to Daniel. I just couldn't imagine him as a Brandon so I changed it. Sorry if there's any confusion! Oh and I just realised that in the description of the story it's got Harry and James paired together and Lily and Ginny paired together. Don't worry I have fixed that! Sorry again!
