To Brax,

The day you got taken from us was the worst day of my life. I thought you'd be with us forever. It hasn't been easy. Everything seem's just that little bit harder.

I'm doing good in school. I got an A in level two Maths and English the other day and my handwriting has improved, as you can see.

I've finally solved my future career. I want to become a pro surfer. Since Casey found out he's been taking me down to surf every afternoon and sometimes the mornings as well. Today should be good., there's a storm up north making the swell huge which might seem hard but nothing I can't handle.

I'm counting the day's till you get out. Well at the moment it's years and months but it looks like you might get an appeal soon because Casey and I keep trying. It's starting to annoy Heath but we don't care because we won't give up on you just like you never gave up on us.

By the way Ricky's good. She's got a few photo jobs which is keeping her busy.

LANI P.O.V

That was the first letter I had written in a long time. I was hesitant to post it because it was full of lies but I had to let Brax know I was there for him even if Casey didn't want him to see me. I stood in front of the post box with half of it in. I couldn't let it go
"Is it super glued to your hand?" Josh asked standing behind me
"No" I replied letting it go "I was just thinking"
"Wow, painful"
"For you maybe"
He smiled at me "You doing anything today?"
"Not till this afternoon, why?"
"You want to hang out together"
"What like a date" I joked
He was quiet.
"Yeah sure" I replied

"So hows Brax" He asked as we walked along the beach
"He's alright, I think"
"Why do you say 'You think'"
"Well Casey told me we can't see him for a while because he needs to get his head around a few things"
"well I guess he's right, It is a pretty big thing"
"Yeah, Hey hows your mum"
"She's good" He replied

We sat on the end of the jetty drinking our milkshakes. It gave me time to think which may have been really bad in this instance.
"Where are we?" I asked
"The beach" He laughed
"No, What are we?"
"Human!?"
I laughed "Let me say that again. Where are we at? Are we just friends or more than that"
"I'd like to be more than friends but what do you want?"
"More than friends sounds good"
"So your my girlfriend now?"
"I guess I am. Heath and Andy aren't gonna like this are they"
"Well their just gonna have to learn to live with it aren't they" He said before kissing me on the lips

CASEY P.O.V

"Your late" I said to Lani as she walked through the door
"Since when did this come a boot camp"
"Since you told me you wanted to become a pro surfer. You need to know how hard you need to practice."
"Casey I don't suck like you so I don't need to practice"
"For saying that you can run an extra 2k's"
"What, why! And since when do surfers need to be able to run fast"
"Since now"
"Ha. Ha. nice try Braxton" She said getting her surfboard
"So why were you late?"I asked getting my surfboard
"Lost track of time"
"What were you doing to lose track of time?"
"Just hanging out with people"

When we got to the beach we say Heath and Bianca there as well.
"What are you guys doing here?" He asked
"Casey's torturing me...again" Said Lani "Hey I see you guys are talking again"
"Oi quiet you" He said to her
"Yea sir" She said walking past and putting her board in the sand
"Have you told her yet?" He asked me quietly
"No, but we can't keep it from her forever"
"Yes we can" He replied
"Hey how's it going?" Lani asked coming up to us
"Good mate, good except your brother's an idiot" I said pointing at Heath
"No really" She said sarcastically
"Shut up" Snapped Heath
"Well then I'm going in"
"OK, I'll be in there soon"

KYLE P.O.V

I sat in my car in the drive way. I kept looking at the address on the piece of paper Brax had given me. I got out of my car and knocked of the door. There was no answer. I peered though the window. There was no-one inside. Just before I was about to leave someone stuck their head over the fence
"Can I help you mate?" He asked
"I'm looking for Heath and Casey Braxton"
"They were down the beach with Lani the last time I saw them"
"Lani?" I asked
"Yeah, she's their sister" He replied "And you know them how?"
"Their just family friends"
"OK. good luck finding them"
"Yeah thanks for that"
"No problem"
I got back in my car and drove down to the beach. Looking for Heath, Casey and now Lani would be like looking for a needle in a hay stack.

BRAX P.O.V

I was getting transferred in under two hours. I sat on my bed looking at the photo's on my wall. There we photo's of Ricky and I and Heath, Casey and Lani when we were kids. They were so innocent. They had changed so much in the last 16 years. I slowly took the photo's down from the wall and put them in a box. I found the letter/poem that Lani had written when she was in year 6. I wasn't going to see her for 15 more years. Maybe she should have known the truth, but then she wouldn't let me leave. I then began to have second thoughts about this transfer but if I didn't do it now I never would.

LANI P.O.V

I looked out into the shore line. I could see Heath and Casey still talking to each other. The waves were getting stronger. At one point I almost got tipped off my board. I let go of my board for a second to get the hair out of my eyes. Before I knew it I nose dived off my board. I was stuck in a rip and had no time to catch my breathe. I tried to re surface but the force was pushing me down. I eventually got back up to catch my breathe but another wave came and pushed me back down. Wave after wave I began to feel like I was about to pass out. My surfboard kept tugging on my leg. It felt like it was about to be ripped off. I reached for it and undid it because there was no way I could get back on it in these conditions.
"CASEY!" I screamed trying to keep my head up
I was trying not to cry but I just wanted my brother.
"CASEY! HEATH!" I cried. but my screams went unheard
Everything began to go dark and my head began to hurt. I felt myself slowly fall to the bottom of the ocean

HEATH P.O.V

I'd lost you. The waves got rougher and you had disappeared. I ran into the water to try and find you. The swim out was hard, you could try and swim but you would just stay in the one place. I eventually made it out to where you were
"LANI!" I yelled
I paused like I was waiting for a response but it never came.

CASEY P.O.V

I saw Heath carry you out of the water. you had blood running down the side of your face and you weren't moving.
"What happened?" I asked Heath
"She got smashed up against the rocks" He said laying you on the ground
"Lani, wake up" I said holding her hand
"She's not breathing" He said putting his head to your chest
"What?"
Heath started to do CPR and I just froze.
"What happened?" Ricky yelled as she ran towards us with Nate not far behind her.
"She got stuck in the waves and she's not breathing"

BRAX P.O.V

"Darryl Braxton?" A guard siad coming up to me
"Yes" I replied
"I need you to come with me"
"Why?"
"Just come with me"
I followed him into another room where there were two other officers
"Whats going on?"
"There's been an incident concerning your sister Lani"
"what kind of incident?"
