Chapter 15

Tara was surprised to see Jax and Opie on the hood of Opie's truck after last period but Donna wasn't. "You came back for me, Teller?" She teased. Jax and Opie had ditched after lunch period. Jax tried his hardest to get Tara to leave with them but she had a unit test in Chemistry that she refused to miss; despite Jax's assurance that he could teach her all the chemistry she'd ever need.

"I missed you." He admits, jumping from the hood and pulling her to him. And because he knows it will rile her up he adds, "Didn't think I'd let my girl walk home, did you?"

"Let me?" She demands, pulling back while Opie and Donna snicker and Jax smirks. "Well…" She places one hand on her hip, "let me tell you something…I'm my own person and I can do whatever the hell I want…and…"

"Shut up." He groans, pulling her back to him. "I missed you." He says again as he nuzzles her neck and just like that she deflates.

"Well than you shouldn't have left me." She teases, finally running her hand in his hair and tugging for his lips to meet hers. Softly, she admits against his lips, "I missed you too." It is then that she can smell him. "Ew, what the hell have you been doing all day?"

"I know." He smiles cockily and she's not sure if he knows she's missed him or that he stinks. "And that's why you should come back to TM with us. We're not finished."

Opie puts out his cigarette and nods for everyone to get in. "Finished what?" Tara dares to ask.

"New ramps." Opie and Jax say at the same time. Donna and Tara roll their eyes. "And I'll be picking you up for school tomorrow." Jax informs her.

"How?" She asks. "You don't have a license?"

He runs his hand down her thigh playfully, "Don't need one for my Enduro."

She laughs, "There isn't room for me on there. And why are you going to take that to school?"

"I'll make room for you, babe." He raises his eyebrow at her. "And it's an early practice. You know street legal cross between a motorcycle and dirt bike?" At her blank look, he gets offended and adds, "My birthday is in two weeks."

"I know!" She lights up instantly. "Oh!" Her grin widens. "And you'll get your first bike!"

"And you'll get your first ride." He confirms as they turn into the clubhouse lot. He can't wait. Just thinking about Tara on his bike makes him hard. He knows she will love the freedom, just like him. He can't wait to feel her pressed up against him, her breast to his back, her thighs to his thighs. He needs to change these thoughts quickly before he gets out of the truck and his brothers give him shit.

"Guys are back." Opie grins to Jax. "Who is are best bet?"

Donna watches the look between the two, "What are you up to?"

"Check out the track." Opie nods towards the area the boys use for their recreation with pride. It is obvious the boys did a lot of work to it from the last time they used it.

In reply to Opie's question to him, Jax responds, "Tig was the asshole who sounded it like we can't do it."

"Do what?" Tara asks the question that it seems both boys are avoiding.

"Don't worry, babe." Jax leads her to a picnic table. "I'm definitely wearing a helmet for this."

"Oh God." She mutters but can't help but feel a certain excitement at what her man (did she really just say that to herself?) could possibly be about to do. She wonders if despite the coolness on this late January day if he'll do it shirtless again, nothing like watching the sweat glisten down those abs.
"I'll be back in a minute." Jax drops a quick kiss to Tara's lips. "Want anything besides a beer?"

"Nope, I'm good." She smiles.

"Beer's fine for me too." Donna smiles sarcastically. "Thanks for asking."

"You have your own man." Jax informs her with a grin.

"Who has to get her a beer now." Opie puts out his cigarette. "Thanks brother."

Jax just smiles in response. Once the girls are alone, Tara looks around and notes that there are more bikes than usual there. "Where did all these bikes come from?" She asks.

Donna looks around too, "Looks like another charter is in town." Sure enough a few seconds later out comes Jax and Opie and a slew of other people, MC members, crow-eaters, and sweet-butts. Tara notes the different patches on some of the kuttes, some saying Tacoma.

The weird SAMCRO member that Tara remembers as Tig starts, "You two shitheads sure about this? Hate to embarrass you in front of your chicks."

"We can find someone else willing to lay down their rides." Jax replies with a dangerous gleam in his eyes. Tig keeps Jax's gaze as Bobby and Zerb offer theirs. "Come on bro, you in?"

"Hell yeah." Tig drops his cigarette. "But if you make the mistake of wrecking and living and fucking up my ride, you're dead."

The three older SAMCRO members go off to get their bikes and Tara pulls Jax to her. "What the hell are you about to do?"

"Some Evil Knievel type shit." The excitement and trepidation is coming off Jax in waves. Tara has heard him talk about the legend enough to know he practically worships him. He watches Tara and believes he sees fear in her eyes.

"You got this baby." She assures him, which she hopes she's successful at because really the idea scares the shit out of her. She thinks if he wrecks, he'll be lucky to walk away with only a broken limb.

"I…" Holy shit, he almost dropped that L word and he has no idea where it even came from. And he can't afford to get twisted up over it now before he does this shit with a bunch of people watching. "You're perfect." He tells her instead and kisses her.

"Alright, we're ready." Opie grins excitedly. "I'm going first."

"What?" Jax glares at him. "No, you're not. It was my idea!"

"So?" Opie huffs.

"So, I'm going first." Jax replies indignantly.

"Just flip a damn coin." Bobby says reasonably.

"Fine." Both boys huff and dig in their pockets for change before Opie pulls out a quarter first. "Call it, Prince."

"Heads." Jax says, still pouting.

"Tails baby!" No one can mistake the victory in Opie's eyes and Jax has never wanted to punch his friend so hard before.

Jax watches as his best friend gears up and prepares to launch his BMX bike off the ramp and over all 3 Harley's and back onto another ramp. He loses focus however when Tara's arms wrap around his shoulders and her mouth goes to his ear. "You're cute when you pout."

"I should have gone first!" He pouts more to keep her doing what she's doing with her lips on his neck.

"My prince doesn't always get his way." She says in a throaty voice that sends blood rushing to Jax's cock. Jax isn't ashamed to admit that he totally missed Opie's launch but coming from the excitement of the crowd, he knows he made it.

"Your turn baby." Tara grins and pushes down the nerves that have calmed down. If Opie can do it, there is no doubt Jax will.

Unfortunately Jax did keep his shirt on, but she only thought of that briefly before he was in the air and she was holding her breath. And to feed into his ego the crowd did go wild, Tara included. One couldn't help but feed off the energy Jax projected, she notes, as he spins her in his arms. "You went higher." She whispers.

He laughs. "You're perfect." He kisses her. "Hang out with me for a little while?" He's sure she's got homework or studying but he's missed her so damn much in the few hours they've been apart. And he wants her with him when he does something he's never done before.

"There's nowhere else I'd rather be." She answers honestly.

Tara thinks the guy she's just learned is named Happy is very un-happy at the moment. "Am I in your way?" She asks him cautiously. They are sitting in the TM garage as Happy tattoos Jax's lower forearm. She's practically sitting on Jax who has a very tight grip for using only one arm.

"No babe." He assures her. "You're fine."

She giggles, ""I wasn't asking you."

"Hap…tell her she's fine." Jax meets Happy's gaze when he raises it.

Never breaking the gaze, Happy replies dryly, "You're fine, I'll just tattoo you next."

Tara laughs nervously, "No thanks." But Jax is unable to stop the imagine of Tara with his crow from popping into his head.

"You'll get one." The tone in his voice is thick and assured. "And it will be amazing." Both Happy and Tara glance at him. Tara with a bit of confusion and Happy with a smirk, knowing exactly what the prince is thinking. Tara notes mentally that this is the closest to happy that she's seen Happy all day.

"Make sure I'm here for that one, bro." Happy informs Jax. Happy almost laughs at vision of Gemma going ape shit once Tara gets tagged.

Tara is pretty sure she's missing something. "This looks amazing." She notes. "JT would be honored."

"Yea, I do good work." Happy notes.

"Yea, but you didn't draw it." Tara replies without thinking and Jax laughs.

"Ah, the chick has spark!" Happy takes a break and sips from his beer. "Good thing, you'll need it."

"You really think so?" Jax interrupts and asks Tara before she can question what Happy means.

"I do." She grins. "I had no idea how well you can draw."

"I'll show you my book later." He promises and Happy raises his eyebrows. Jax would always have that book with him and never show anyone, including his old man when he'd bring him to Tacoma. Later, Happy decides he needs to get blown by the first crow-eater he sees because watching these two shitheads make googly eyes at each other is making him nauseous.

"I didn't mean to keep you out so late." Jax says softly as they are walking home. "Are you gonna get in trouble."

"Maybe" She shrugs but looks up at him with a smile. "But it was worth it."

As they come to her house, he can hear glass breaking and loud music. "Wanna crash with me at Piney's?"

"Definitely." She whispers softly and Jax drops a kiss to the top of her head and leads the way.
