Deidara sighed the next morning when Keitara stumbled into the kitchen, a vodka bottle in her hand. She looked wrecked, her hair was a mess, bags under her bloodshot eyes. She was walking slowly, her movements minimal.
"Kei," Deidara sighed as he gave her a tight hug.
"What's with the affection Dei?" She looked up at him confused.
"We need to talk," He murmured and Keitara nodded and followed him up the stairs. She sat on his bed as he dug through his dresser for the large bag of pot. He pulled it out and tossed it to her. She smiled and nodded her head to him.
"Thanks," She squeezed the bag. feeling how firm the brick was.
"Are you selling all of this?" Deidara asked her seriously.
"No," She shook her head as she looked at the bag.
"Then you're smoking it?"
"Some of it," Keitara admitted. Deidara shook his head but knew he couldn't be mad at her. Last night he had done ecstasy for shit sakes. How could he get mad at her for weed.
"Is there a reason? Is everything not good enough for you?" Deidara wanted to know why she wanted to get high.
"I'm not comfortable talking about this Deidei," She spoke those words and Deidara's eyes closed in pain. They had agreed never to talk about something if it made the other person uncomfortable, after everything they had been through it was better that way.
"What happened last night? I heard you scream," Deidara changed the subject and she sighed.
"I'm not comfortable with that either," Keitara told him and he shook his head.
"Why? If something is going on and you feel like you can't tell me. You can tell me anything Keitara and you know that," Deidara looked at her and she looked down at the bag of pot in her hands.
"I have been smoking, but not to get high. I wouldn't do it for that. I-" She swallowed hard as she looked up at him, he knew she was uncomfortable.
"You what?" Deidara asked softly and she closed her eyes as a tear slid down her cheek.
"I do it because it helps with the pain and nightmares Dei," Keitara stared at her hands as the tears began to fall.
"What are you talking about?" Deidara asked and she shook her head.
"It helps me forget Dei. It helps me smile, to be happy and not have to remember," She gave him a pained look. He knew then what all this was about.
"Maryvale?" He asked and she nodded as she wiped her cheeks clean. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have left you there," He sighed as he put his head in his hands.
"It's not your fault, nii-san. You didn't know," She hugged his torso from behind and he let out a huge sigh. She released him and opened the bag in her lap as she pulled a pipe from her pajama pants pocket. She pulled a bit of the pot to the front of the bag as she began to pull out the seeds and stems. She packed the bowl and pulled out a lighter. She lit the pipe and inhaled deeply before passing it to Deidara. He took it and inhaled the thick smoke before he started coughing. She smiled at him as the plant started to take effect. They passed the pipe back and forth for a few minutes before she put it down and grabbed his acoustic guitar sitting in the corner. She strummed the guitar as the high made her smile.
