Sorry it's taken me a while to update! Thank you for the reviews :) I will try to be more regular with updates again now, it's just been such a busy week for me! Thought it would be nice to give Nick and Zoe some much needed alone time so here you are :) If anyone has any suggestions please don't hesitate to mail or comment them to me :) xx
"Oh he is gorgeous" Rosa cooed over her new grandson as they stood around his incubator. She had insisted that the hospital was their first stop after the airport even though Nick had said it wasn't such a good idea. "He looks just like you when you were born" She said to Nick, placing her hand in the incubator to touch Oscar.
"God help him" Zoe joked, chuckling as she saw the unimpressed look upon Nick's face as he shot her a deathly stare.
"Why don't you two go home for a while and we will sit with Oscar?" Rosa suggested, turning to look at her husband for his approval. She knew how much Nick and Zoe were dedicating their time to being at the hospital with Oscar, they both needed and deserved the break even if it was only for a short time.
"Oh I don't know" Zoe began to protest. Although she trusted her mother and father in law, it just didn't seem right for her to be leaving him.
"Come on Zoe, we need a break" Nick added, trying to persuade her "He will be fine with them for a little while" He placed a reassuring hand on her back.
"OK then" Zoe agreed, knowing that Nick was right, she did need the break, "Don't hesitate to call me" She quickly added, before they said their goodbyes.
"You do realise that the kids are at my mums" Zoe commented, slightly disheartened that on their only break for the hospital, the kids weren't actually going to be around to spend time with them.
"Well then Mrs Jordan, looks like we've got the house to ourselves" Nick smiled, flashing her a wink as he momentarily took his eyes off the road to glance at her.
It didn't take long for them to arrive back at their house. "I forgot what peace and quiet was" Zoe sighed as they entered the quiet and empty atmosphere; which was a very rare experience. She immediately headed for the front room, collapsing onto the sofa as she kicked off her shoes.
"Why don't I go and run you a bath?" Nick suggested, seeing how tired and exhausted she was looking. A bit of pampering and relaxation was just what she needed right now. Zoe nodded to show her agreement as Nick headed upstairs to the bathroom.
"Wow" Zoe exclaimed in surprise as she saw the lit candles Nick had placed around her bath "So you do know how to be romantic" She teased, smiling as she stood in the doorway watching him.
"Only because it's you" He smiled, standing up from the side of bath and walking over to her, "I'll leave you to it" He added, placing a hand on her waist as he slid past her, kissing her gently in the process as he left the room.
"Nick" Zoe quietly called as he spun back around to look at her "I do love you, you know that don't you?" She said, barely audible but truly meaning every single word.
Nick nodded slightly "I love you too" He whispered, as she smiled, walking back into the bathroom.
"I've brought wine" Nick announced, heading into the bathroom and crouching down beside the bath, handing a large glass over to Zoe.
She wasted no time in downing the majority of her glass as he handed it over to her "Oh how amazing is alcohol" She exclaimed in delight, enjoying the taste of her first drop of alcohol since having Oscar.
Nick smiled proudly as he sat watching her "I'm so proud of you you know"
"Why?" Zoe grinned, loving hearing these words from him. Although Nick would always tell her he loved her, he very rarely expressed his true feelings, "For not drinking alcohol for 9 months?" She joked.
Nick chuckled momentarily "Don't ruin the moment" He teased, splashing some of the bubbles from her bath over her, "You are coping so well with everything" He commented in all seriousness "You really are amazing" He whispered, placing a hand on her cheek.
Zoe grinned "You always say the right thing don't you?" She whispered against his lips as she moved forward to kiss him.
"Only if I mean it" Nick mumbled as he broke away from their kiss.
"Are you going to sit there all night then or are you getting in?" She teased, raising her eyebrows as she sat back allowing him to see her naked body as he wasted no time in taking off his clothes and joining his wife in the bath.
