It was rather new.
Regina was happy!
Since regaining their memories, every night was a honeymoon. Robin would start it off saying with a little more smugness than necessary, "I'm going to make love to my wife!"
Not that she was complaining.
When they weren't, "renewing their marital vows," Robin was with his Merry Men building what could only be called a permanent RenFaire out in the woods.
Henry enthusiastically joined in, bonding with the only father he had left, and Roland went about helping.
The Merry Men didn't seem to hate Regina's guts anymore, and even when the Snow Queen came around stirring things up …. she could barely yawn.
Yes, she had to "step out of retirement" to kill a giant snowman, had to point out the obvious to Snow about how to re-start the electricity, but then she slinked back into her home, her family, and if anything, just popped the popcorn and watched the train wreck.
The only slight shadow on their lives was that Robin expressed some disappointment in Regina's inability to conceive. This led to a very frank conversation, that had been long coming, about her never having conceived before, there was no way in hell she was going to go through any crazy modern experimentation, and just be happy with what they have.
When the words came out of her mouth, Regina even shocked herself.
What a concept…be happy with what they had.
This led to a long silence from Robin Hood and then a very intense renewal of their marital vows.
And that was the end of it.
Except Emma came trolling around, asking for her help with the Snow Queen.
Regina had to polite remind her that she had retired, to do the best she could, and leave her the hell alone!
She would be happy if it killed her!
Yet sometimes, lying in her Lover's arms she knew that the time would come again when she would be asked to fix the mess…Robin had said as much.
But not now.
Not now.
