Thanks for all the lovely continued reviews :) Some of you have been asking for me to write Zoe/Maisie/Phoebe chapters, so I've done a small one here just showing how Zoe is coping with life at home with the kids; mainly featuring around Maisie and Phoebe. I've got some big chapters coming up for Maisie soon though so please stick with it :)
"Maisie, can you get up please" Zoe called from outside her bedroom door, knocking loudly as an attempt to wake her up. She was never up in time and they had to be at both schools in half an hour. Zoe sighed when she didn't get a response from her daughter, having no other choice but to open the door and physically pull her out of bed "Maisie come on sweetheart, we've got half an hour, I could really do without this today" She said, nudging Maisie as her eyes began to flicker open.
Maisie groaned as she saw her mum sitting on the side of her bed "Do I have to go to school today?" She whined, rolling over and instantly wanting to return back to sleep as she pulled the covers closer to her face.
"Yes, now come on" Zoe firmly said, starting to loose all patience with her "I'll drag you out if you don't get up in the next 10 seconds" She ordered, placing her hands on her hips as she impatiently waited.
Before Maisie even had the chance to get out of bed, Oscar was crying once again. Zoe sighed and left Maisie's room to head to the nursery. She could already tell today was not going to be a good day. She couldn't wait even more so now to be returning back to work tomorrow after Nick's new shift rotation proposal.
As Zoe padded back down the hallway with Oscar draped over her shoulder, she banged loudly on Maisie's closed door once again "You best be up young lady" She called, having a very strong feeling that she wouldn't be.
"Yes I am" Maisie shouted back in annoyance "Just leave me alone" She groaned, purposely slamming her wardrobe doors to show her that she was actually up and out of bed.
"Morning sweetheart" Zoe said in a much calmer tone, smiling as Phoebe came out of her bedroom, fully dressed and ready for school.
"Why's Maisie's shouting?" She asked in a hushed voice, noticing that Zoe was attempting to get Oscar back off to sleep.
"She's just a little grumpy in the morning's" Zoe told her "Why don't you go and see if she's ready for me?" She asked, running a hand through her youngest daughters hair as she passed her on the stairway.
Zoe headed downstairs and placed Oscar into his car seat, who was now thankfully fast asleep once again and she began to get herself ready.
"MUM" Phoebe cried, racing downstairs in tears "Maisie hit me" She sobbed, racing into her mother's arms so fast she almost knocked her over.
"Shhh, it's alright" She soothed her, before she finally calmed down. She stormed straight to the bottom of the stairs to go and see to Maisie. "Maisie Jordan, get downstairs right now" She shouted at the top of her voice. This was all she needed to top off her morning and she hadn't the patience to deal with their petty arguments today.
"What?" Maisie innocently asked as she appeared at the top of the stairs "I didn't even do anything" She sighed, propping herself against the stair rail as she stood waiting for a lecture.
"You don't hit your sister" Zoe ordered.
Maisie groaned "I didn't even touch her, she's such a baby" She shouted back.
Zoe shook her head "Your dad will be hearing about this later, now get downstairs and get your shoes and coat on" She demanded.
"Please don't tell dad" Maisie groaned as she descended the stairs, following Zoe into the kitchen. She knew full well that Nick would not be happy in the slightest about this. She hated it when Zoe did this, Phoebe was always the golden girl of the family.
Zoe shook her head "You should have thought about that earlier" She said, carrying on getting ready for school, ignoring all of Maisie's pleading comments.
"Mum please" Maisie begged once again.
"Go and get in the car please, I've not got time for this today Maisie" She ordered in annoyance.
"For god's sake" Maisie whined, storming past everyone and rushing out of the door.
Once Zoe had finally managed to get all 3 children at school almost on time, she decided that she could really do with a break. She drove straight to the hospital in hope to spend a bit of time with Nick. It was only her second day of being at home alone with Oscar and already she was bored and running out of things to do.
"Shall we go and surprise daddy?" She said in a hushed tone as she unstrapped Oscar's car seat and lifted him out.
"Zoe, what you doing here?" Nick asked as he saw her getting out the car and heading towards him outside the department.
"Oh I've had the morning from hell" Zoe sighed, waiting as Nick sent the incoming patient from the ambulance and inside with another doctor.
"Come on then lets go and grab a coffee while it's quiet" He suggested, taking Oscar's carrier from her arm and running a hand across her back as he lead her into the hospital.
