Sorry it's been a while, I've been really busy with exams. Will try to be as regular as I can but thanks for being patient :)

"Can Harrison come for tea tonight?" Maisie asked as they set off in the car.

"No" Nick quickly refused, shaking his head as he glanced at her through his rear view mirror "No way" He continued. He was still finding it difficult to accept that Maisie had now grown up and had a boyfriend. She would always be his little girl no matter what and to him she just seemed way to young still.

"Oh come on Nick, where's the harm in that?" Zoe asked. She knew how against Maisie having a boyfriend he was, but she was still going to try and convince him.

"Everything" Nick replied "I don't want a boy coming around our house" He ordered, keeping his eyes firmly fixed on the road ahead.

Zoe shook her head, unimpressed with him "Yes darling, he can come round for tea" She replied back to Maisie, completely ignoring everything he had just said.

Nick turned to look at Zoe in surprise "Zoe?" He asked, unimpressed with her "I said No" He firmly replied, slightly annoyed with her.

"And I said yes" Zoe replied "Stop being so grumpy about it, they're only 13" She continued to try and talk him round, but he wasn't having any of it as he sat shaking his head at the whole conversation.

"That's exactly why I said no" Nick continued to argue.

Maisie sighed "Well if you're just going to argue about it, I wish I never asked" She shouted in annoyance. She knew full well that her dad would react like this.

"We're not arguing" Nick and Zoe both replied in unison, like a pair of kids fighting.

"He's only going to come round for a bit of food and watch some TV dad, we're not going to have sex or anything" She told him.

Nick and Zoe were both a little taken back with her comment, they knew that she had done sex education in school recently, but never had they properly spoken to her about it and she was now casually adding it into conversation like it was the norm for a 13 year old.

"Erm right" Zoe first spoke, looking over at Nick "Well I'm glad we've established that" She said, trying to dismiss the conversation with her.

"So is that a yes then?" Maisie asked as they pulled up at her school gates, grabbing all her bags before opening the door.

"Yes he can come" Zoe finally agreed, before they said their goodbyes and drove off to work.

"I can't believe she said that" Zoe said, as they both got out of the car upon pulling into their designated parking space at the hospital. She knew exactly what Nick was thinking about the whole situation because he had barely said a word since.

"If she's casually talking about sex, I hate to think what else" Nick shook his head.

"Nick no" Zoe quickly inputted before he had chance to finish "There's no way she would, she's a sensible girl" She tried to reassure him.

"Is she?" Nick asked, turning to look at Zoe, trying to keep his voice down as they entered the hospital entrance "All this behavior at school" He added.

"I'll talk to her about it" Zoe suggested, knowing that Nick would not want this conversation with his daughter.

"Well you're going to have to, especially now you've invited him over to our house, that's just asking for trouble" He said, still displeased with her going against him. The whole journey had just completely put him in a bad mood now for the working day.

"Oh don't be like that Nick" Zoe sighed, she could tell he was going to be taking this bad mood out on both her and the rest of the staff all day now.

"We'll talk about it later, I've got a meeting this morning" He said, turning on the spot at reception as he headed to his office. There was no goodbye kiss like usual, he just stormed off into his office without even saying bye.

"Bye then" Zoe sighed, placing her bag and coat in the staff room before getting to work.

After two hours of treating patients had passed, Zoe glanced at her watch, hoping that Nick's meeting would be over by now; she really wanted to talk to him. Along with her dreadful hangover, arguing with Nick had also added to her bad mood that morning and she wasn't really in the mood for treating patients.

She headed down to his office, glancing through the windows of the slightly closed blinds to check if his meeting was still in progress, she could see Nick sitting alone at his laptop. She pinned in the code and walked in without knocking.

"Have you cheered up yet?" She asked, not wanting to stick around if he was just going to continue to argue with her.

Nick shut down his laptop, looking up at Zoe who stood by the door "I'm sorry for taking it out on you" He apologised.

Zoe closed the door, glad that he was in a better mood, she walked over and took a seat on the chair on the opposite side of his desk "It's not my fault she's grown up Nick" She sighed.

"Come here" Nick suggested, indicating for her to come and sit on his side of the desk.

She stood up and walked over to him, going to take a seat on his desk, before Nick stopped her and pulled her onto his lap.

Kissing her forehead, Nick wrapped his arms around her to keep her firmly on his lap "I know" He replied "I shouldn't take it out on you"

"We will sort this I promise" Zoe said, wrapping an arm around his neck "I know she's your baby but you need to realise she's 13 now"

Nick sighed "I know"

"You were young once remember" Zoe raised an eyebrow at him, toying with the hair that she found on the back of his neck as she felt him relax at her touch.

Nick chuckled "Yes a very long time ago"

"You're not that old yet Mr Jordan" Zoe grinned, placing a kiss upon his lips.

"I do love you Zo" Nick mumbled as he placed another kiss upon her lips, pulling her closer to him.

"I love you too" Zoe replied, kissing him in response "anyway, what was it you said this morning about making my shift better?" She grinned, her hands moving to his chest as she pulled on his tie, teasingly returning her mouth back to his.
