"You're looking very pleased with yourself" Zoe grinned as she walked over to Nick who was standing in a quiet corner of reception, filling out endless amounts of patient notes.
Nick smiled as he saw her approach "yes well, you have definitely just put me in a good mood for the day" He winked at her. It seems their little liaison in his office that morning had completely transformed his bad mad.
"I'm glad to hear it" Zoe whispered, so that nobody passing by would hear "Listen, Maisie's just text me to ask if she can walk home with Harrison tonight? She asked. She usually wouldn't bother to run these kind of things past Nick and just agree with it, but after his little outburst about the whole situation, she thought it would be best too.
Nick immediately shook his head as she spoke "Not a chance" He refused, the smile on his face now slowly disappearing.
Zoe sighed, she knew she should of just gone along with it anyway now "Come on Nick, they will be at home half an hour before us" She tried to persuade him, keeping her voice as low as possible.
"yes and me and you both know what you can do in half an hour" Nick spoke in a quiet voice, raising an eyebrow at her.
Zoe shook her head, she couldn't be bothered with all of this again "ill text her back saying yes then shall I" she suggested, getting her phone out of her pocket.
"Well you won't listen to me anyway so do what you like" Nick called after her, unimpressed as she began to walk away from him.
When the end of the shift finally came around, Zoe headed down to Nicks office "you ready to go home then grumpy pants?" she asked, poking her head around the door to his office as she stood waiting for him to put his coat on.
Nick ushered Zoe back out of the office as he locked the door, turning to kiss her as he took hold of her hand "Sorry for taking it out on you again" He apologised once more "I'm just concerned about her Zo" He admitted, squeezing Zoe's hand a little bit tighter as they exited the hospital.
Zoe let go of his hand, running it across his back "I know, just trust her though" She tried to persuade him "God, you need a massage" She chuckled as she continued to run her hand up and down his back as they approached their car.
Nick chuckled "I'll hold you to that later then" He winked as he got into the drivers seat. They drove off to then pick up Phoebe and Oliver from school and Oscar from nursery before finally heading home.
"Mais, we're back" Zoe called as they all entered the house. It was rather quiet and she was no where to be seen, but she presumed they must have gone into one of the rooms with the TV on.
"If she's in that bedroom with him" Nick said, already getting worked up at the fact that Maisie had brought a boy round to the house.
"i'll go" Zoe suggested, heading towards the stairs. She knew if they were up there, then sending Nick would just make matters ten times worse.
Zoe knocked on Maisie's bedroom door before entering as it was firmly closed. She walked in extremely shocked to find Harrison lay ontop of Maisie. Although they were both still fully clothed, Zoe could see that this wouldn't have lasted for long if she hadn't have walked in "what the hell do you think you are doing?" She shouted as the two of them pulled apart.
Maisie sat up, sitting on the edge of the bed "We were only kissing mum" She looked at Harrison, extremely embarrased about what had just happened.
"Well it looked more than a kiss to me" Zoe shouted, extremely disappointed with her "Maisie you get downstairs right now and Harrison I'll drive you home"
"mum don't" Maisie protested, looking at her with pleading eyes.
"Out now" Zoe demanded, pointing towards the door for them both to leave. She didn't want to hear any excuses right now "I am so disappointed with you" Zoe sighed as Maisie sheepishly walked past her.
"What's going on?" Nick asked, as he saw them all heading down the Stairs. He could tell perfectly well by Zoe's face that something had happened.
Maisie didn't say a single word except storm past him into the kitchen.
"I'm taking Harrison home" Zoe replied angrily "we will talk when I'm back" She added, quickly grabbing her coat and car keys.
"has he touched her?" Nick asked, jumping to conclusions as Harrison still stood in the room with them.
zoe didn't have to reply, Nick could tell by her looks that something along those lines had happened.
"Don't you dare step foot in this house again" Nick bellowed as Harrison and Zoe left through the front door.
