Family Matters
"NORGE!"
The Norwegian in question (or at least that's who Harry thought the booming man was talking to) turned around in shock, and a little bit of fright. Much like what happened last week to Professor Kirkland, the mystery man bombarded Professor Bondevik but instead of being crushed to death the new professor was picked up, spun around and almost squished to death by the mans hug.
"Norgie," This man too had an accent (but apart from the fact that it was Scandinavian) Harry couldn't place it. "Why did you leave me! Me and Ice were worried sick trying to look for you."
Harry then noticed someone else had joined them. 'Ice' most likely, he was younger than the professors maybe a year or so older than himself. His silver-white hair was slightly tousled and it stood out against his violet eyes. He wore a brown jacket and trousers with a white shirt and boots and... was that a puffin on his shoulder!
Professor Bondevik seemed to notice the boys presence as well since he nodded his head to the boy. "Hello little brother."
The white haired boy turned red in embarrassment. "Don't call me that."
In all the confusion Harry and Ron never noticed Hermione walk up to them. "That's the professors brother Emil." Ron jumped in shock at Hermione's voice, but quickly came up with a come-back when Hermione started giggling. "We know that! He just called him little brother!"
Harry turned his attention back to Professor Bondevik who was shouting at the 'idiot Dane' to put him down.
"And that must be Mathias." Hermione told him.
Harry took a closer look at the tall blonde man, he was wearing a black trench coat with red trousers and a pair of brown boots. He had sparkling blue eyes, hair that defied gravity and a giant grin on his face, even though Professor Bondevik was shouting at him.
"So who are they exactly?" Harry asked Hermione since she seemed to know the most about the new arrivals.
"Professor Bondevik described them as his family, along with two other men and a boy he thinks of as his nephew."
"The guy sure has some weird family." Ron inspected.
"By the looks of it that's what Emil thinks too." Harry pointed to the boy who was slowly budging away from the two men.
Hermione-being the ever curious person she was, went over to introduce herself to the professors brother. "Hi, I'm Hermione Granger, nice to meet you." Hermione held out her hand and Emil, though cautiously, grasped it.
"Emil Steilson."
Ron however, being the tactless person he is, butted into the conversation. "How come you and the Professor both have different last names if your related?"
While Hermione glared at Ron, Harry noticed Emil blush and shake his head.
"So," Hermione tried to change the subject. "Where are you from?"
"Iceland."
Harry frowned, wasn't Professor Bondevik from Norway? How were these two guys related?
Hermione still continued to try to get conversation out of the boy. "Um, how do you know Mathias?"
"Him and Lukas were childhood friends." Emil looked towards the rest of the adults. "And speak of the devil, here he is now."
Emil was right and it wasn't long before the tall blonde reached them.
"Icy!" He greeted the white haired boy with a slap on the back that almost sent him face first on the floor. "So who are these guys?"
While the Golden Trio introduced themselves Harry couldn't help but wonder how the emotionless Lukas Bondevik could ever be friends with this man.
"Mathias Køhler."
"So where are you from Mathias?" This time Harry asked the question, he was quite curious to see what the mans accent was.
"Good old' Denmark!"
Harry heard Emil sigh but he was too busy exchanging looks with the rest of the Golden Trio. All these guys were from different countries, how did they know each other?
However this thought process was interrupted when Professor Bondevik came over to the group.
"If the only reason you've come to visit me is to annoy me, can you please leave. Or at the very least stop annoying my students too."
"Hey!" Mathias spoke up. "We were genuinely worried about you, when you didn't even show up for the Nordic Meeting we knew something was up-you're the only one who likes going to those meetings, so me and Ice set off to look for you."
"For the record I got dragged along."
Professor Bondevik let out an exasperated sigh. "So how did you get here."
"We had to look EVERYWHERE!"
"No," Emil corrected. "He looked everywhere. I asked Allistor where you were since the rest of the magic trio were gone too."
Professor Kirkland must have heard this because he too interrupted the conversation. "When you leave will you tell Allistor to stop telling people where I am."
But his exclamation was waved off by the Dane. "Sure, sure. But I think Alfred, Francis and What's his name want to come and visit too so be warned."
Professor Kirkland groaned but Hermione grew more curious about her professors. It would be fascinating to meet Professor Kirkland's family, especially if-like she expected Alfred was from the howler. But who was Francis, and how did he know the professor?
"So when are you coming home Norgie? We can't survive without you!" By this time Mathias had wrapped himself around Professor Bondevik's leg trying to plead with him.
"That's not true, you'll both be fine."
"Actually," Emil butted in. "Mathias gets even more annoying with you not around, so the probability of him getting hit by Berwald goes up 20%"
During the exchange Harry didn't notice Professor Popescu come up behind him. "We can't leave yet Lukas, we haven't annoyed Snape." He said, pointing puppy dog eyes towards the Norwegian.
Professor Kirkland looked aghast. "Was the only reason you guys came to see me was to annoy the other professors?"
"No." But Professor Popescu clearly wasn't good at lying.
In all the shouting, and the whining, and the pleading, (mostly from Mathias) no one noticed that Professor Dumbledore had joined them, most likely awhile ago.
"Arthur, did it slip your mind to inform me that we were having even more visitors." Dumbledore gestured to Emil and Mathias, one who was feeding his puffin and the other who was still clinging to Professor Bondevik's leg.
"I'm afraid I didn't know they were coming Headmaster, just like last time."
"Don't leave me Norge!"
"I see, I actually have a proposition for both Professors Bondevik and Popescu." The men looked up from where they were trying to dislodge Mathias. "I'm afraid our Defence Against the Dark Arts professor had to return to the Ministry of Magic, since I'm presuming you both have the correct qualifications how would you like to teach the class."
"Of course."
"Does this mean your not coming home Norge?"
"I'm afraid so."
While Mathias started pleading again he was dislodged from Professor Bondevik's leg.
"Don't worry," Emil addressed his older brother. "tomorrow he'll be so drunk he won't remember any of this."
And with that Mathias and Emil walked up the hill, and into the sunset... WHAT!?
"Um, Professor Dumbledore," Harry turned to the Headmaster. "What time is it?"
"Why it's almost dinner time, I'm starving."
Hermione's face went red. "Have we missed all of our afternoon lessons?"
But while Hermione worried Professor Popescu just laughed. "Just make sure your not late for my, I mean our class tomorrow."
Harry turned back to the brown-haired Romanian. "Wouldn't miss it for the world."
"Should be interesting if nothing else, after what happened today." Ron whispered to Harry.
"I just hope their both good teachers, I mean I know Professor Bondevik is but I'm not too sure about Professor Popescu." Hermione said. "I still can't believe we missed all of our lessons."
Harry just grinned, this year was going to be quite enjoyable after all if their new teachers had anything to say about it.
