"Maisie, it's time to get up" Zoe knocked on her door to wake her. They hadnt spoken to her since she stormed off upstairs after last nights argument. Zoe thought it would be best to let her sleep on it until morning. She had gotten extremely angry with her dad last night for taking her phone and any more arguments would just add to the flames; they were simply just too similar in personalities.

Zoe knocked on the door once again when she got no reply the first time. Maisie eventually emerged a few minutes later and cautiously opened her bedroom door "I don't feel well" she mumbled, rubbing her eyes as she struggled to awake fully.

"don't pull that one Maisie" Zoe sighed, pulling a hand to her forehead to check her temperature "I'm really not in the mood for you pulling a sickie" She added.

"I'm not pulling a sickie" Maisie groaned "I was up all night crying myself to sleep" She admitted, still looking very close to tears and Zoe could clearly see the dried tear marks that had previously fallen down her cheeks.

Zoe sighed, knowing that Nick would not be happy about this one bit but she had no other choice "Right you can have the day off" She told her "But, you're coming to the hospital with me" She added, much to Maisie's disappointment as she hated spending days at the hospital.

"Fantastic" Maisie groaned, knowing that she had no other choice. She could really turn around and say that she wanted to go to school now and anyway she thought this May just be her opportunity to prove to her mum and dad just how sorry she was.

Zoe headed downstairs to leave Maisie to get ready. She walked into the kitchen, where Nick was trying to juggle making breakfast and soothing baby Oscar back to sleep over his shoulder. She chuckled to herself as she watched "I thought you were good at multi tasking" She joked.

Nick turned around to see Zoe wander in "Morning to you too" He smiled "is Maisie up yet?" He asked. Zoe had told him to try and keep his cool with her today, but she wasn't sure how long that would last between the two.

"yeah" Zoe replied "but she's coming to work with us" She told him, unsure how he was going to react to this.

"Why is she not going to school?" Nick frowned. He hated them missing days off school and knew very well that the majority of the time they would just try and pull a sickie anyway.

"She's been up all night" Zoe told him "I couldn't send her" She admitted "and anyway look at it this way, if she's in the ED she can't see Harrison" She pointed out, knowing that Nick would definitely see this as a bonus.

"Yeah, suppose you're right" He nodded, rocking back and forth to soothe the baby "we might be able to talk to her then" He suggested.

"Yeah we will" Zoe agreed, trying to hold back her laugh as she watched him "I hate to add to your mood Nick but you might want to go and change your suit" She suggested, walking over to him and taking Oscar from his shoulder, pointing out the baby sick that had now fallen down the back of his suit.

"This week is just getting better and better" He huffed, rushing upstairs and getting changed; concious of the time.

"morning dad" Maisie weakly smiled as he joined them back downstairs. As much as she hated him right now, she thought she would at least try her best to get in his good books again.

"Morning" Nick replied, not really paying much attention "get your things together, we're going to be late" He panicked.

Maisie didn't say another word and collected all her belongings and headed to the car along with her brother and sister.

"Come on Zo, we've not got time" Nick called up the stairs to Zoe who was still getting herself and the baby ready.

5 minutes later and she finally emerged looking as smart and professional as ever "Nick chill it's your department" She reminded him, chuckling at how worked up he got over the time management.

"Yes but we've got Maisie with us today" He sighed, taking Oscar from her as they left the house "it's going to be ten times as stressful" He complained as they all got into the car and headed to school and work. It was certainly going to be an interesting day for everyone.
