By the Light of Lightening: Comparing Notes
By: M14Mouse
Summary: Vida just had about enough. She and the Snow Prince are going to have a little talk.
Disclaimer: Don't own them.
-We are bound by our choices weather they are good or bad.
Snow Prince is bounded by the choices he made on the battlefield.
Leanbow is bounded by his choice to bring a child into this world despite what has been foresworn.
Daggeron is bounded by shadows of ghosts.
Calindor is bounded by whispers.
Me? I bounded by the choices that I about to make. My heart is heavy with regret. I wished that I can see the future but the only thing I can see is fragments of here and there. They are dark. They give me little choice in the matter. I hate this.
Breathe.
Calindor is here. He is asking to speak to me. It is time to take my leave from the board.
Only time will tell if my choices will be the right ones.
I pray to the spirits that I am.-Catalina
"SNOW PRINCE…get your happy snow covered butt down here," Vida said as she twisted around. She knew that he was here. She asked Daggeron before she dragged herself here. It wasn't like that it was springtime here in Snow Prince land.
"You don't have to yell, Miss Rocca," Snow Prince said behind her.
She nearly jumped out of her skin.
Jesus Christ…he is going to give her a heart attack.
"I had to get your attention somehow," She said as she folded her arms across her chest.
He waved her off.
"You have it," He said.
"You think that I am stupid." She said angrily.
"I have no doubt that you are fairly intelligent, Ms. Rocca. I have no idea what you are talking about."
She snorted.
"I am not blind or dumb. Like a good girlfriend, I listen to my boyfriend tell me about his day. Nothing big, right? Then I started listening to what Nick and Chip say to each other. But me as the good girlfriend…I started listening to what listening what hasn't been said. Then I started to comparing notes. I am starting to see a trend. You are screwing over my boyfriend so hard that a damn screwdriver would be jealous." She said angrily.
"Watch your tone with me."
"You aren't Undonna or Daggeron. I barely know you and stop avoiding the damn topic," She snapped.
I have no idea…"
She snorted.
"Really? Special training for Nick almost 7 days a week…? The lack of training sessions for Chip or half ass lessons at best? Hell, you are lucky that Chip and Brightstar have been hanging out so much or Chip would have noticed. Hell, he might notice but he probably won't say anything. He is nice about it."
The Snow Prince just looked at her.
Wait for it…One…Two…
"Chip's training and Nick's training are different. They are both unique individuals. Their training reflected that. Although, Nick's training is more important than Chip's training. He is the Light. The prophecy states that…"
There it was.
"I'm calling you on your crap. According to you and your damn prophecy, we should sit on the sidelines and become cheerleaders."
"I never said that," Snow Prince snapped.
"Not in some many words but I know. You guys are blinded by the Light business that you don't see anyone else. Have you really met the others? Not just a wave or how you are doing?"
His silence answered her question more than the next words that came of his mouth.
"I don't have time to meet them. I am far too busy."
"Doing what? Locking yourself away in ice palace? Don't get me started on Nick again"
He looked at her like he wanted her to go away. She wasn't…not until she was done.
"Just let him go, okay?" She said with a sigh.
"What?"
"IF you aren't going to train him to become a knight…let him go."
"Why don't think that I am not?"
She gave him a look.
"Yes, I am not training him in the way that I am training Nick. Chip is a different creature all together."
Again…excuses. She almost pitied him.
"Chip is a lot of things. He is funny, light-hearted…sometimes, he has an attention span of a fruit fly. Sometimes, he get into way over his head about stuff especially fantasy and comic book stuff. He isn't perfect but he is Chip. One of the things that I know about Chip always wanted to be a knight. So, he could rescue his mom," She said softly.
"A noble cause."
"From her wheelchair."
She watched the Snow Prince's calm face morphed into shock.
"You don't know us or Chip. Don't even try to say that you do. It is your lose because Chip would have made an awesome knight," She said as she turned around to leave.
"He still has a chance to become a knight. I haven't abandoned his training, Ms. Rocca."
She stopped in her tracks and looked over her shoulder. In her heart, she wanted to believe that those words were true. She knew better. She really did.
"No…I think that you have."

Next Chapter: Zaria
A/N: I love Vida like whoa…she would point out the whole difference between Nick's training and Chip's. We, as the viewers, never saw Chip's training. But it always appeared to me that it was dropped in favor of Nicks. Oh, the turning point is coming. ^_^ I can't wait. Read and review if you wish.
