Guys, can you believe it? I'M BACK! After seven weeks of being a phantom author struggling to pass Honors FST I am back and ready to write another chapter! I still can't promise consistency because my schedule is hectic – with the exception of Fridays the only day of the week I'm supposed to be social. Huh.
…..
Whatever! Let's ignore the fact that solitude exists for a thousand words and pretend singing princes exist!
"Let me go!" a boy struggled in futile against the indomitable grasp of his captor. Another hand reached out and pinned his freed leg to the floor. Not another one he thought despairingly. With two maniacs conspiring against him, there was no way he would be able to make it out of this alive. Something was tied around his neck, effectively strangling him. "Mom…!" he choked out pitifully.
By some miracle in heaven, she heard his plea. A pleasant presence gaited into the room, but her disposition quickly turned disparaging, "What are you two doing to him?!"
Natsuki and his other son gave Haruka toothy grins, their mischievous eyes already giving them away, "We weren't doing anything!"
Ryou, the older twin, scrambled to his feet and hid behind his mother, screeching, "You can't believe them, Mom! They're psychopaths!" he gestured rancorously to the pink choker they had wrapped around his neck, "They wanted me to be a girl this time!"
"Mom, you don't understand," Kazuki, the younger twin, carefully approached his brother, a silly grin spread across his face. Natsuki had chosen to stay silent so far, smiling ardently as he pushed his glasses back up his nose. "Dad and I just both agreed that he would look better as a female, and there was no way such a stick in the mud would do it of his free will. Doesn't he look cute?" Kazuki cooed, tugging on the frilly dress they had managed to force Ryou into.
"I think you two are the devil incarnate," Ryou hissed, manifesting a cell phone out of his new outfit. He furiously punched in a series of numbers he had been forced to learn long ago, "I'm hiding in my room, Satan spawns!"
Haruka covered her mouth with her hand, lest they see her twitching smile and think she wasn't being serious, "Kazuki, you know your brother hates when you and your dad do that to him. You too, Natsuki! And you wonder why he always says he likes Kurusu-kun more?"
"Haru-chan, Ryou is only lying when he says he likes Syo-chan more," he laughed jovially, getting off the floor and wrapping Haruka in his arms. "And he's my son, how could he not secretly love being dressed up?"
Haruka shook her head, leaning her head on her husband's shoulder, "You always seem to forget that he's also Satsuki's son." Kazuki snorted in a noise of agreement, departing the room to wander around the house.
Natuski sighed disappointedly, "The closest I ever get to feeling bitter is hearing that Ryou doesn't like getting dressed up or baking because of Satsuki."
"Now, now," Haruka tapped his nose, smiling softly, her mesmerizing golden eyes seeming to melt, "Don't go blaming Satsuki for anything. You are the same person after all."
"True," he admitted, burying his face against Haruka's crisp apple-colored hair, "At least I can still dress up you and Kazuki."
She laughed nervously and tried to direct the conversation to a different topic – to be perfectly honest, he always went a tad bit overboard when he decided to dress her up, "And they both inherited your musical ability."
"I love hearing those two play violin together," he sighed pensively. "It reminds me of when Syo-chan and I played together."
Their door burst open, revealing a panting Syo, his hat askew and black nail polish streaked across his knuckles, "Ryou, where are you?! I'm here for you!" and with that, he bolted upstairs to find their son.
"Speak of the devil," Natsuki laughed.
"You know, Ryou wouldn't have to have the safety support system of his Uncle Syo if you would stop torturing him," Haruka admonished him once again before walking back to her study. Little to her carefree family's ubiquitous belief, she actually sometimes needed to get work done.
Natsuki shrugged, taking the steps two a time so he could attack his best friend. The moment Syo entered his vision on the second floor, he took a running jump and landed on his compatriot in a gargantuan glomp. Syo flailed against his friend's embrace, but eventually gave up, just waiting for Natsuki to get it out of his system.
"Now that you're done being a pansy-weirdo," Syo stood up, brushing the nonexistent dirt off of his clothes. "Your son called me saying you two were assaulting him again, so I came over. Where is he? I rushed out of the house for the little brat of a nephew."
Natsuki shrugged, "I wouldn't know. As you can tell, he isn't very happy with me now."
"Fair enough," Syo pushed his bangs out-of-the-way, clipping them back like he didn't manage to do in the car, "You Shinomiyas are some scary-ass people."
"No swearing in my house, Kurusu-kun!" Haruka's voice reverberated warningly throughout the house. She never imagined she would have to exert so much effort to keep order in her house, but it was the decision she chose to make when saying yes to Natsuki's proposal.
Syo winced, "Right, sorry Nanami!" Natsuki gave him a look, "I mean Shinomiya!"
Natsuki adored the fact that he had been able to claim the adorable Haru-chan as his wife. That's why he put an end to his band mates calling his wife 'Nanami'. That name felt so distant, like it was literally dragging her a little further away from him, "Right, well check Ryou's room. Tell him I'm sorry, and it probably will happen again, will you?"
Natsuki passed Kazuki – who was emerging from the music practice room – and gave him a quick, but effective, fist bump. They had done well in dressing their reluctant kin. He kept going downstairs, reuniting with his wife in her office after only a few minutes. He hated being away from her for too long; it was too lonely.
He pecked her cheek and she looked up from the note she was drawing on the composition sheet. She shook her head affectionately and turned to give him a proper kiss, cupping his cheeks in her small hands. They broke apart and he ruffled her hair, his green eyes sparkling, "Thank you for being such a cute wife."
She giggled, but her laugh was cut off by Syo's screech, "Ryou, Nanami! Kazuki got me!"
Was that alright? I like Natsuki, but I never particularly shipped him with Haruka which is why I was worried if I portrayed him accurately, or even well at all. Thanks for hanging in there, and I didn't have a lot of time for editing so if there are grammatical answers, keep in mind, I AM AN OKAY GRAMMATICAL WRITER. There aren't many when I proofread, but I have places to be, but you beautiful people deserve something, so here you are!
Thanks for reading! Suggestions for who to do next chapter? Hugs and butterfly kisses!
