By The Light of Lightening: Stories

Summary: Chip has a story. Mamooboo has a story. Even Necorali has a story. The knights came back and remarkable enough…no one dies.

"So…you started reading her journal and she magically writes something crypt at the end, you don't tell anyone. On what planet is that a good idea?" Vida said with a sigh.

"Okay…you make sound like that it wasn't a good idea, V," He said.

"Because it wasn't! What about the fact that you went and met her without someone knowing?"

"I brought Fieval!"

"My little Pony doesn't count."

He heard Fieval snort in his head.

"He does count!"

Vida threw her hands into the air.

"You talk to him!"

"So, what happened next?" Maddie asked.

"She started training me. You know the whole weapons and knowledge training type stuff."

"Did she ever explain why Snow Prince and she don't get along?" Nick asked.

"Zaria. She was Catalina's student. She died in a battle that Catalina didn't want anyone get involved in. Snow Prince insisted and well…it happened. They blamed each other and themselves. Snow Prince regrets what happened…and Catalina not being there. Instead of talking, they get angry at each other which lead them into fighting."

Undonna sighed.

"That is correct. They have little tolerate for each other before Zaria's death. I'm hoping with the Master gone that those two could mend bridges…" She said with a shrug.

He expected pigs to fly first or MJ get back with Peter.

"Then how did Matoomboo come back?" Xander asked.

"The Master cast my spirit into the Ways. Lady Knight went and got it out. Then Mystic Mother came…and she granted me a second chance," Matoomboo said in awe.

"What are the Ways?" Maddie asked.

"It is a place like a continuous tornado of dark and light magic. It is a place twisted by it and both sides avoided it at all costs. The reason that Mystic Mother sent Catalina is because she traveled through the Ways to get to Rootcore," Undonna said with a nod.

"Why in the world would she do that?"

"The Master divided the lands in disastrous ways. He burned bridges…cracked the earth…flooded towns…dried up rivers. Perhaps, The Ways were the only way for her to travel. I never asked and she never told. Although…" Undonna said with a laugh.

"What?" Nick said.

"She looked horrible when she appeared at our camp. She folded her arms and huffed at us for being in the wrong place. It was rather amusing."

That did sound like Catalina. She had a weird thing about places and time.

"It was because you were supposed to be somewhere else, Undonna. I was tired walking at point," Catalina's voice echoed as Rootcore's door opened.

Daggeron, Leanbow, Snow Prince, and Catalina filtered into the room. His eyes darted around. Well…they looked well and they didn't kill each other. Whoa.

One thing that he did notice was how Catalina was staring at Necorali. Necorali looked liked that she wanted to run away. He wasn't the only one that noticed either. Leelee looked liked that she wanted to jump between them. Catalina walked over to Necorali.

"Catalina…." Necorali said.

"Necorali. I had given much thought about what to do about you."

"You aren't going to do…" Leelee said before she was cut off by Catalina with a single look.

"You saved my Brothers' lives and many lives in your turning away from the Master. For that, I will take no action against you."

Necorali looked relieved.

"But Time will. You can't hide behind your immorality anymore. You will answer for all your actions…past, present, and future. Time will chip at you bit by bit…with no relief and no regret. For time is a ruthless master…by the end, you may wished that I had collected on my promise that I made on the battlefield that day," Catalina said before she walked away.

Wow….

Leelee looked liked that she was going to spilt fire at Catalina but her mother stopped her.

That was probably a good idea.

"You are right. I regret my past actions. I know others will force me to live through them…again and again. If I forget them, you may collect on your promise, Lady Knight," Necorali said calmly.

Catalina stopped for a moment and looked over her shoulder.

"Well said…and I will keep you to your word," Catalina said.

A heavy silence filled the air after that. He looked over at Xander. Xander threw his arms into the air.

"Okay…we aren't going to die anymore. This calls for a party!" Xander shouted.

That was greeted with a loud cheer.
