In Manchester it had been a different story all together for Jen. The break up was bad this time around. The first week when she arrived at Liam's mate Nathan flat. She spent the first week in bed. Starring at the walls remembering at the memories of Tilly she couldn't switch it off not like she wanted to. She thought moving away from her would help her get over her but it anything it made it worse.
Liam came home from work it was really late. He was about make his way upstairs when he sees the telly is playing he walks into the living room and finds Jen half a sleep with a bottle of wine on the table with Jen holding her wine glass in her hand. Jen led on the sofa. Clearing up the mess trying to take the wine glass away from.
"Jen, you stop doing this nearly every night. You need to pull yourself together." Liam full of concern.
"I'm fine" Jen pulling herself up in a sitting position. "This is helping me."
"Well it's not. This is your third night in the row. I know your hurting and I going to regret saying this but she don't want you don't you think it's time for you to." Already regretting saying.
"You don't get it do you. How can I get over the person I love & she tells she doesn't want me and you are right. It none of your business. Begins to walk away taking the wine bottle out of his hand "give me that" leaving the room. Liam fell on the sofa letting out a huge sigh.
One day Jen had finally got up, took a shower and headed downstairs. She had finally got herself together needing to take control of her life taking one step at a time.
Making her way to the kitchen. Smelling breakfast being cooked.
"Hey, didn't expect you to be up this time" Nathan said jolly. Nathan was the lodger.
Taking a seat at the table. "Yep, new day fresh start." Smiled Jen.
"That's the spirit. It will get easier I promise you. Breakups are always hard."
"Yeah, one day at time." Trying to stay calm. Nathan do you mind if we don't talk about relationships it's still a touchy subject." Hoping he wouldn't be offended as he was only trying to help.
"Sure. Let's change the subject. So what are your plans for today?
"Well I'm going to start looking for a job. Anything particular?
Jen shrugs. "Erm... Not sureā¦. Anything at the moment. I hate sponging off Liam."
Jen had been handing out her Cvs around the local area. She also went to the job centre to help her find a job. Later on she stopped off for lunch at the park as we lovely day looking around her taking in scenery around her. She feels the urge to draw taking out her sketch book from her bag. Turning the page for a clear page she notices old drawing off Tilly.
"Tilly" barely a whisper. Her voice is breaking. Jen heart flutter looking at her ex. The sadness is written of Jens face. She brings her fingers tracing Tillys face. All the memories of her flood back to her. The one person that meant so much to her didn't want her. Tears running down her cheeks, she packs up her stuff and goes home.
Jen was back at square one again. She remained in the flat either in her bedroom or the living room watching crappy TV.
Liam & Nathan were in the living room talking. "You need to do something about Jen. She's spiralling out of control if she not in her room all day she getting pissed. I mean I know she's your sister mate, I think she's great but she needs to start paying. It's been three weeks since left the house." Nathan not trying to sound really mean.
"I know mate. I think some tough love is in order" Jen looking up at the ceiling. Knowing he had his work cut out with Jen.
Two days later. Liam knocked on Jen's door letting himself through.
"Jen! Get up" pulling the curtains.
The light was too bright squinting her eyes. Pulling her duvet over her face.
"C'mon I said get up" pulling the duvet away.
Liam" groaned Jen.
Jen you need to pull yourself together. You need to start moving on. Get changed and get this room tidy up. You have job to go to."
"I don't want to. I'd much prefer to wallow in self-pity. Anyway I don't even have job." Frowned Jen.
"You do now. You're working at the bar with me. That way I can keep an eye on you."
"I don't need you looking after me."
"I don't think so Jen. You look a mess."
"Thanks" Jen huffed.
Get ready" leaving Jen to get ready.
