William Turner POV
I unlatch the cage door and sneak inside. I hear the chooks wake up and starting clucking and making noise. I carry the cardboard bucket under my armpit as I see one of the chooks pecking at some scraps. I find for fresh, warm eggs that will be my breakfast. I then walk over to the fields where the cattle are. I bring the mother cow into the shed and milk her. I squeeze her teats in a rhythmic pattern. I fill the bucket three-quarters full and then pour it into the bottles and put the lids on. Finally I walk over to the horses and refill their food with some new hay bails. My mum and I are probably one of the richest in the District because of what the great business my father had on the farm. We were left to keep the industry going after my father committed suicide.
I clip the handle on the door and then jump on the horse. It was my sister's horse. She died two years ago in the games. She was my twin and we were quite close. She died in the feast, too foolish to go around the careers. I tried to warn her but it's not that easy when she was over a thousand kilometres away. I keep her horse well looked after though I think as I step on the railing fence and then onto the horse. I nudge the side of it so it starts to gallop.
When I ride horses I feel like I have escaped. Like I have escaped from the Capitol, the games and all my world's torture. The wind whips around my face, almost stinging but the sensation of riding takes away the pain. I look left and right seeing the ever-lasting fields carry on along the horizon.
I feel a sudden jolt in my back and I fly off the horse and land face first in a prickly bush. I feel the spikes enter my skin, all over my body. I hear the horse whine in agony and then flip over onto it's back with a thump. It lies there hooves up in the air, screaming to try and move. I know what happens in times like these you are supposed to kill it. It saves the horse a whole deal of torture, but I can't. I can't kill my sister's horse, but I know if she wanted her pet to die she would have wanted it peaceful. So I run 100 meters back to the shed and pull out my dad's old shotgun. I load it then aim it at its heart so I won't have to shoot again and then, BANG! The legs fall to the ground and it stops moaning. I drop the gun where it is and then run all the way home.
I am out of breath, wheezing as I run inside and flop on my bed. I cry into my flat pillow, upset with what I just did. I shot my sister's horse. It was the only thing of my sister I had and I killed it. I don't tell my mum what happened because I know it would break her day so I walk to the reapings by myself crying.
Blake Fauna POV
I flip open the cover reading the title, Divergent. I sit in peace on a broken timber chair and read. I can't believe what I am hearing, it is almost like our lives under the ruling arms of the Captiol. In the book five personality and ability groups separate people. I think if that would happen to me I would be either be factionless or Abnegation. I know how to fight but I am afraid of heights. Those poor people split apart from friends and families, but my life is not much better.
'Blake,' I hear my father call. Every time he says my name I know he needs some help for me to get him something. Peacekeepers whipped him last week when he apparently didn't listen to instructions. Ever sine he has been in excruciating pain so I have to attend to his every need. I walk into the bedroom where we both sleep. He points to his medicine. I shake my head.
'You have to wait 2 more hours,' I say. He groans and then I go back to my book.
I walk outside to where I was sitting and notice my book is gone. I panic and look up at the trees, seeing if any bird has taken it or anything. I then look out across the glare-covered paddocks and see Timothy running away. Timothy is my neighbour and is 10 years old I laugh a little with annoyance and then run after him. He was about 50 meters ahead of me but in a few minutes I manage to catch him. I leap at him and tackle him to the ground. I pin him, using my knees and then rip the book out of his hands. I smile at him, getting up from the ground and then return with my book back home.
After a few hours I have finished the book so I go to where I find all my hardcovers. The abandoned library. I walk down the rocky road and within sometime I come across the ruins of what used to be a historical library. Most of the books there cannot be salvaged but some of the ones that can be I find interesting. I look around, lifting up mini boulders, for a book called Insurgent. I am unlucky to not find that specific title but instead I discover another dusty book named History of Exploration of Panem. I shrug, hoping this factual book is just as good.
When I get home to our little cottage on the giant farm I try to start my reading. But my father disagrees and says I should start getting ready. I sigh but know he is telling the truth. I rummage through the pile of clothes, some dirty some clean, and find a nice denim singlet and some pale cream rugged pants. I look at myself in the windows reflection and notice my hair looks bare. I find a black bow and tie it in with my dark green eyes, black hair and muscly, tall figure. I then help my dad get out of bed and down the streets of District 10 to the reapings.
William Turner POV
I wipe my tears from my eyes and put on a strong face. I'm scared as hell but everyone knows not to show it. I walk into the buzzing crowd with my head held high. I get my finger zapped and a blood sample is taken and then I walk to my age group where I stand in silence. After everyone has arrived the horrible presentation starts.
Following the mayor's lecture on The Hunger Games the escort comes to the stage. The young and not-so-talented Rory Magna. Rory was the escort last year and I don't want to experience her speech again. She always makes it about her along with all the other Capitol citizens.
'So first off I want to sing a song about the games,' she says in the worst hillbilly accent. She starts to yodel into the microphone, sending a piercing screech through everybody's ears. She impersonates us wearing the cowgirl hat and high boots, tries to yodel and puts on the worst accent. Finally she stops when the mayor signals to her and then the name calling begins. She skips to the female basin and then picks a name up with a disgusting smile.
'Blake Fauna,' she calls. A seventeen year old walks to the stage, looking down at the ground the whole time. Another victim has been chosen for the Capitol's pleasure. She looks devastated and an alright girl. Then Rory walks to the male dish and picks a name from it.
'William Turner,' I hear echoing throughout my head. No, no. I can't believe, of all people it was me. So I face the facts and walk confidently to the stage. Rory finishes the ceremony and Blake and I are pulled away inside the building.
My mother arrives not long after I am thrown in the room. She cries, one of the few times, and hugs me for almost all of our time. She tells me she loves which makes me cry and says that I won't have the same outcome as my sister.
Blake Fauna POV
I watch the ginormous clock tick to one o'clock. Then the mayor begins. He talks to us for almost an hour. He tells the citizens of District 10 that we are great and amazing people, but we haven't won more than 20 games. He talks about how we are 10th of 12 and the best of them all. Then welcomes the escort to the stage. Her name is Rory Magna, the worst escort I have ever met. She tells us about herself like it's a date interview and then introduces the Treaty of Treason video. All the information in the clip I have either seen, heard or read before. I mean the video is over 150 years old, they should really update it. After the mini movie finishes she is the only one in the District that claps. Now the serious and dangerous part begins.
Miss Magna trots like a horse to the bowl that all the females' names are placed. I pray to God, like every other year, hoping that it's not me. She clears her voice and then in a shrill tone calls the name.
'Blake Fauna.' I stop thinking and my mind goes blank. In that split second I forget everything I ever knew. Then as I walk to the stage with fear it all comes back to me, but I realize the nastiest thing that could possibly happen…happens.
A boy with dark curly hair and dressed in a flannelette shirt and dirty work pants. He doesn't look much happier or better than me but he seems to hide his fear when he walks. William and I shake hands and then are taken into the Justice Building.
My father hobbles inside the chamber. He doesn't look better than before as he hugs me and kisses me on the forehead. He tells me it was not only long ago that I was a little girl. He tells me to fight and be smart about it. I nod and agree and warn him to take his drug prescriptions only at the right times. Then he had to leave and I was left alone.

So what do you think? Keep the reviews up cause you know I love em. I had fun writing these two but I took a while because I was upset over Cel's suicidal death. Cel or Callista is/was TheGirlWhoCan'tLetGo. She committed suicide two nights ago in her home in Indonesia because of haters on fanfiction. She was an amazing person and me and Snow Wolfe6631 (another of her friends) will be writing a HG about her so be sure to check it out. I have opened a new story called the demigod games so make sure you submit to that one and my sister has just opened a new account on FanFiction. Her name is .girl so check that out aswell. Well that's all for now folks so only 2 more Districts to go. Thanks everyone!
Signing off, TeamCudgee ;D
