Ethan Forest POV

I sit on the floor curling up next to my little brother, Cameron. My sister Candace, my other sister Elly and my mum Scarlet all huddle close together to keep warm. Elly is my twin sister, we both have straight brown hair and light brown eyes. The front door slams shut on its hinges. I hear the clatter of my father's boots as he walks into the main room blowing into his hands to keep in the warmth inside. I can smell fresh bread from the Hob and some fish and fruit also from the markets. For breakfast I have a chunk of bread and some apple and peach halves.

'I found you a job while searching around this morning. A geologist will take you as an apprentice. Treat him nice as he gives us extra supplies.' Dad says between mouthfuls. 'Sorry El I couldn't find you anything so just do some chores and look after Cam.'

I knock on the geologists' door. He opens up and invites me inside. The man has a fairly rich house for being in District 12 I think as he leads me downstairs to his study. It is filled with sealed bags with rocks and sand samples and then some other jars and magnifying equipment. He mumbles to me what he does and how his study operates. I basically sit in the corner as he analyses an unknown object to me. A machine clicking suddenly wakes my senses and I swivel around on my chair and knock a jar over. It smashes on the tiled floor and he isn't happy.

'Be more careful!' he screams at me, 'do you know what that was?' I shake my head.

'That was rare species of rock and only a few grams of it were discovered in the mines.' I can see his anger is building up inside. 'Get out just get out!' I walk up the stairs, almost laughing, and go home.

I hear a thumping noise from back around the house. I go around and see Elly whacking a soccer ball against the wall. She laughs as I tell her about the situation but we both know dad won't be happy. We put the ball inside and go for a walk on the outskirts of the District.

We find our special spot right next to the fence and sit down, making ourselves comfortable on some bushes.

'Do you want to play truth or dare?' Elly says with a smile.

I nod my head and ask her the question, 'Truth or Dare?'

'Dare,' she replies. I think to myself and then give an answer.

'I dare you to go to to the Merchant's section and steal some of the mayor's riches,' I say jokingly.

'O.K.'

'I was just kidding.'

'We can sell it at the Hob, we always need more supplies.'

It's true though we always need something more. But if we don't sometimes we like to spoil ourselves like last year we payed the escort to bring us back a soccer ball from the Capitol. I sit there alone shocked at what my sister is about to do.

Elly Forest POV

After looking after Cam for a few hours I am bored so much that I go and kick the ball we got last year. Anyway Candance can look after him. I smash it against the brick wall out the back. Then I hear Ethan laughing as he comes around the side. He tells me what happened and then we go to our own little hideout, meeting place. I ask him if he wants to play truth or dare. He says yes and then dares me to steal something of the mayors so he will freak out. I agree to and go off to complete my goal.

Entering the Merchant's area I'm looking for the luxurious house with the number 6 on it. I find the house and knock on the door to see if anyone is home. After several minutes nobody comes so I sneak around the side and climb one of the trees close to the window. As I reach level with the second floor I creep along, close to the branch and see if it is unlocked. Luckily it is and I make my way through the small space and into the expensive home. I manage to find a few bedrooms with some of the most high tech gadgets, a kitchen with some amazing foods, a lounge room with games and toys I have never heard of and a beautiful bathroom and study. I pick up some jewellery from what I think is the mayor's room and shove them into my pocket unnoticeably.

I climb out the window I came in on and here the Peacekeepers coming. They must check the Merchant's area hourly for any intruders. I snuggle up to the tree branch and try to camouflage in the leaves silently. After a few minutes they return back to base and I can run to the fence where Ethan will be waiting.

I spin the jewellery around my finger as I come into Ethan's sight. He is gob smacked as I hand him my steals. When we sell it we will earn so much money to pay for a few months worth of living. Luckily this year we won't have to buy tesserae.

'Why don't we sell it to Jamalia? She will buy it off us without telling and then she can sell it off to someone else until they hand it back too the mayor.' I say. Jamalia is my friend from school who works at the Hob. She has her own stall for jewellery so it will all work out nicely.

I can smell rotten foods as we enter the Hob. Jamalia's stall is almost at the back. I follow the signs until we see her. She gives me a hug when she sees me. I ask her if we can talk in private and the three of us go around the back. Taking the jewels out of my pocket, her eyes light up. I tell her I can give them to her for twenty pounds. She agrees as she is getting more for what she is paying for and we take the money and leave with our lips sealed about our little secret.

Ethan Forest POV

After returning home, I get changed into a pale orange shirt and some clean brown pants. I walk with the rest of my family down to the square. Cameron and Candace line up in their sections while Elly and I get our needles and then are taken to our correct areas, only a few metres away from each other. After all the stuff that has happened today I just take a few minutes to pray and to hope that my family don't get reaped.

The clock rings two in the afternoon as he welcomes the escort for the 150th Hunger Games. The escort is Rodney Bosma, almost a replica of Caesar Flickerman. Rodney has the same purple pulled back hair and chirpy crowd-loving persona. And finally after much talk the names are about to be reaped. Rodney almost runs to the female bowl and quickly picks out a name, it almost seems as if he is rushing the name-calling. He taps the microphone to clear it and then calls out District 12's female tribute.

'Elly Forest.' I turn directly to my left and see Elly cry a few tears and then have a complete emotion change. Her furious side comes out and she goes off her nuts. She runs around insanely screaming out random words and then when she is on the stage she starts growly at Rodney. We both have this two-personality thing where we have a sweet side and furious side that come out uncontrollably. Then my furious side comes out. The Capitol, that stinking Capitol has stolen my sister for their own amusement.

'I volunteer!' I shout. I have to, to save Elly. I can get her in and out of the games and then back home. Elly stands there angry at my decision.

'Well we haven't had one of those in a while hey?' Rodney says to the public as a joke.

'What's you name fella?'

'Ethan Forest.'

'Ah your sister I see hey, wonder how this will go down with the elders. Thank you District 12 for your attendance and I'll see you in a year. With hopefully one of these two.'

Cameron, Candace and my parents covered in soil from the mines come through the door. I can tell they are angry at my decision but know I couldn't do anything since I was in that mode. I tell them I will bring back Elly safe and sound and I loved them.

Elly Forest POV

I kiss my mother and my father and walk down the streets of District 12 wearing my reaping outfit. A midnight blue dress, not something I would usually wear but my mother made me. It doesn't match my features but hey, I'm no fashion queen. I meet up with my brother at the cue. Then after we are signed in we go to our age and gender categories, making us only a few metres away from each other. After everybody arrives and settles down the ceremony begins.

The mayor is frantic and freaking out as he enters the stage. Partially because of a speech in front of a huge crowd and also because his home has been robbed. I give a silent chuckle as he mentions in a sentence about stealing and he is just like us and no richer. Which is a lie.

Rodney Bosma the District's escort is dressed in a suit with his hair dyed purple. He tries to crack a few jokes before he gets down to business. He says that these two tributes will be the 299th and 300th for the Hunger Games and it would be an honour to be a tribute. Then he pulls out a card from one of the bowls sitting either side of him and calls the name.

'Elly Forest.' I stand in my places with thousands of eyes watching me and start to cry. Then all of a sudden my body takes over and I go insane. As I am taken to the stage I growl at Rodney and all he does is try to ignore me. I can't stop thinking about it then my idiotic brother volunteers. I know he just wants to help me but we both know only one can come home. Rodney then finishes up his little comedy routine and we are taken inside the building and then we will be of to the Capitol.

I can hear my family go inside the other room. I can hear faint voices of my family talking to Ethan and then they leave. Within a few seconds they walk inside my room and I get to say my goodbyes. I kiss my parents and my siblings as tears come to our eyes. I just hope that one of us makes it out alive.

OMG! I have finished the reapings! I have mixed emotions about this as I was running out of ideas and stuff. At the start I was like oh geez this is gonna take forever and then with the last few I just wanted to keep on writing them. I have a few things to talk to you all about now. So first things first within the last 12 chapters there has been 36 questions with different points. You may now go onto my profile copy all the questions and spaces for answers and PM it to me in one message. I won't accept the ones that haven't used the proper forms.
