Twirling out from beneath the stage came Mr. Ghirahim, the drama teacher. He was well known for being odd and there were rumors about him having several relationships with many of the boys in school. But with no proof or claims from the students he has managed to barely hold onto his job.
"Welcome to the school plays auditions!" He sang. "How many of you talentless boys will actually make it through the auditions of death?" Chuckled the strange man.
"Auditions of death?" Link turned to Sheik who merely shrugged.
"Although I'm not aloud to actually kill you. What a party pooper Mr. Gaepora is! Boring!" The teacher pouted.
"Anyway. This years production will be, the classic childrens story, The Story of the Hero of Time!" He waited for applause that never came.
"Which version?" Dark asked from the doorway.
"Dark's going to sign up?!" The boys immediately seemed to panic as they scrambled away from him. What am I a ghost?!
"No I came to watch Link." He sighed as if that should have been obvious. They had been officially declared a couple, much to Sheik's dismay. Dark tried his best to remain calm and be patient with Link but it was hard with everything being annoying to him.
"You had to invite him?" Sheik sighed.
"We're a couple now... Of course I want him to see me act."
"Are you even happy with him?" Sheik asked and Link fell silent refusing to reply.
"Watch it Sheik. Of course hes happy." Dark growled making Sheik take a few steps back.
"Uh... Without further ado! Lets start!" Ghirahim seemed annoyed that his thunder had been stolen and leaped onto a swing to fly up to his perch at the other end of the concert hall. He was definitely more than a little odd.
"First up, the auditions for the princess." There was some hesitation but finally Sheik and a first year named Ralis got up on stage. Some people says he looked like a fish out of water.
"Only two?! Outrageous! The princess is the best role!" Ghirahim humphed.
"We'll she does have the most lines but this is an all boys school." Dark said.
"How do you know so much about the play?" A boy asked and Darks dark face only seemed to grow darker when he blushed.
"Non of your beeswax!" He snapped making everyone scatter away again.
Obvious, the choice was Sheik. With Sheik being the headmaster son they weren't aloud to deny him the role he wanted. Ralis looked disappointed as he stormed out of the audition hall. The auditions went on for a few hours and finally it was Link's turn to audition.
He only had one line and he took a big breath and shouted it aloud.
"HYAA!" The hall fell silent and Link began to panic before Ghirahim started applauding. "Magnificent! That's exactly how I imagined the hero to sound!" Link was taken aback. He couldn't believe he was getting this kind of response for one line, with only one word. He turned to Dark who just gave him a sort of half nod in approval.
Ghirahim leaped back to his swing and swung all the way back to the stage landing nimbly on his feet. "And Dark can play the hero's shadow!"
"What?! No way!" Dark refused completely but Ghirahim would not be swayed.
"I expect you all to arrive at tomorrows practice! Even you Dark. No. ESPECIALLY you Dark."
Dark crossed his arms and turned away. "I refuse to do it old man. Why should I?"
Ghirahim strolled up to him and put a hand on the young mans shoulder and causing his body to tense up. "Don't touch me weirdo..."
"The reason is simple. You two look nearly identical and you know all the lines of everyone in the play. I need you here and you will come." He pulled away from the boy who shivered as his touch left. He glared at Link silently blaming him for this and Link sheepishly hid behind Sheik who also avoided Darks gaze.
