I totally forgot to update! I was so busy updating my new fanfic in Spanish and it's translation in English (BTW, please check it out!) that it totally slipped my mind!
SO SO SO SO SO SORRY!
I can't believe it's been 3 months! I shouldn't have the right to write anymore! (Hehe, that rhymed) and I shouldn't even have any readers taking into account how inconsiderate I am!
BUUUUT, I've got a long chapter to compensate for the lost time ;) (3900 words, not counting the A/N)

They were 50 meters away when they saw their friend's limp body finally make contact with the floor and hear his demonic laugh. Nothing else could be heard 50 meters away ahead, just his laugh, his breathing and his heartbeat...
50 meters away, and nor Natsu nor Gray saw her chest rise or fall
50 meters away, and Natsu couldn't hear Lucy's heartbeat
So close, yet so far away... with their speed that distance would usually be nothing, but right then, it was everything. They couldn't do anything, they couldn't help her.
They had lost her because of those 50 damn meters

Lucy's body started to glow and turn into dust and that when Natsu realized: "Gemini!"
There was never a heartbeat, because Lucy was never there
"Wha-?" Clearly, they enemy was confused "What just happened?"
"Fleuve d'etoiles" Natsu heard the real Lucy yell "Where is she?" he asked Gray
"Natsu! Over there!" Gray whispered while pointing to a spot behind their enemy that was too distracted to notice he was being targeted. Before he could even react, he was thrown against the wall.
"I realized something... When attacking, you've got to have your full attention on your target, and cannot attack to persons at the same time" Lucy smirked proud of her discovery, and Natsu and Gray, after hearing her, noticing what she was implying, smirked as well
"You heard her" Gray said, but Natsu was already running those 50 meters
"Ice-make: hammer!"
"Fire dragon's roar!"
Unfortunately for the trio, even if Kazuma couldn't fight back, we had extremely good reflexes, and disappear before any of them could do something about it.
"Where is he?!" Gray asked to no one in particular. He didn't even realize the person standing right behind him, whose next move was kicking him in his lower back
"Gray!" Lucy shouted
"Ugh... I'm fine" He said while trying to get up "Damn he's got a strong kick!"
"Fire dragon's fist!" Natsu managed to punch Kazuma right in his stomach, but unfortunately, the fire disappeared after making contact "Wha-?" Kazuma took advantage of the situation and took a hold of Natsu's wrist
"Drain" Natsu started screaming in pain but it didn't last long since Lucy intervened
"Open, Gate of the Goat! Capricorn!" Gold dust turned into the Goat-man spirit, who read the situation in no time and pushed Kazuma away from the Dragon Slayer
"Thanks Luce, Goat dude" Natsu said while panting. Even if the spell only lasted a few seconds, but even so, their enemy was strong enough to drain a lot of power in that time.
"Ice Make: Lance!" Gray yelled, aiming at Kazuma to help Lucy's spirit out
"Try not to hurt Capricorn, Gray!" Natsu was not surprised that even in the middle of a battle, Lucy could find a way to scold them.
"Fire Dragon's Wing Attack!"
"Oi! Flame-head! Are you trying to kill me?!" Gray yelled at him after dodging his attack.
"Move out of the way, Ice cone!" Certainly, Natsu wasn't smart enough to move from his spot behind Gray, and had almost hit him instead of their enemy.
"Do you wanna go at it, birdbrain?!"
"You bet, porn star!"
Both boys started fighting one another, completely disregarding the fact that they were up against a powerful wizard, who had already defeated Capricorn and was sweat dropping at the whole situation.
Kazuma took advantage of the mages' distraction to attack them.
"Draining Spears" black spears appeared out of nowhere and Kazuma aimed at the two boys
"Natsu! Gray! Watch out!" Lucy pushed them out of the way, barely dodging the attack herself.
"Idiots! Focus for once!" The blonde said after punching them
"Sorry Luce..." Natsu apologized, still holding his cheek
"What he said..." Gray agreed, copying Natsu's actions
"Anyways, we need to attack together" The boys nodded and stood up, already in fighting mode, while Lucy made her way to a puddle of water in the middle of the sidewalk.
"Open! Gate of the water Bearer! Aquarius!"
"Fire Dragon's..."
"Ice Make..."
"You damn brat, summoning me with dirty water and interrupting my date..."
"... Brilliant Flame!"
"... Ice Cannon!"
"AGH!" (Just to remind you, Aquarius never says her attacks' names)
Kazuma may be fast, but there was no way to avoid being hit. He was cornered and there was no way out
"So this is Fairy Tail..." he whispered before getting hit by fire, water and ice.
The water and fire cleared to reveal an unconscious Kazuma, with a block of ice right next to his head
"We did it!" Lucy celebrated, but was soon interrupted by her pissed off spirit
"You dare summon me from some dirty puddle of water?! You damn brat!"
The blonde mage laughed nervously "I had no choice; I was on a crisis here"
"Tch! Whatever... Don't summon me for a while. I'll be going back to my date now, with my boyfriend, Boyfriend" she said the last word twice to remark it "you should get one"
"Don't rub it in!" said the blonde to the now gold dust
"Well, that was easier than I expected!" Natsu said with a goofy smile on his face
"Yeah, I can't believe I actually agree with you" Gray added
"Oh no!" Lucy said, remembering something, or actually someone
"What?" Said both males that were already at each other's throats. The reason why, Lucy didn't know, but she wasn't surprised either. She didn't bother asking since she had other worries
"Wendy! What happened to Wendy?!"
"We crossed path with them on our way here, she was with Charle and Happy" Gray explained
"Well let's go then! I need to check on her"
The three mages made their way back to Wendy, while Natsu was carrying the unconscious mage
When Lucy spotted the blue haired mage, she ran to her, noticing she was in company of not only both Exceeds but Erza Scarlet as well, already lively and talking like nothing ever happened
"Wendy! Erza!" Lucy shouted while waving at them "I'm so glad you're okay!"
"Lucy!"
"Lucy-san!"
"Wendy, are you okay now?"
"Yes! I'm all better. I actually just feel like if I'd taken a really long nap"
"That's good, I'm glad you are not hurt. What about you, Erza?" Lucy asked
'I'm all good, that mage was no threat to my Lightning Empress Armor, there's no way he could have changed the state of thunder after all"
"Why am I not surprised?" The celestial mage smiled at the pair, glad they were safe, but peace didn't last long
"Do you wanna say that again, talking underpants?!"
"I said you are a pain in the ass, you flamer!"
"Are you fighting?" Said the scarlet-haired woman while emanating a dark aura
"No!"
"We are best buds!"
Lucy just smiled at the scene "I guess some things never change"
Time Skip
Lucy's POV
It's been a week since then, and they are still the same old Fairy Tail.
After we gathered all the dark mages in one place, we handed them to the Custody Enforcement Unit of the Magic Council and then we made our way back to Fairy Tail. Speaking of, we managed to fix the guild hall yesterday, so I can finally relax while having a smoothie.
Luckily, I'm completely recovered and the wounds I got from fighting Kazuma are not hurting anymore, and that's why I had decided to pay a visit to the guild
Right now, I'm standing just outside the doors, listening to the racket that everybody is causing.
"Oi Gray! Your clothes!"
"Gray-sama is...!"
"What the hell?!"
"Put some damn clothes on, pervert!"
"What did you say Squinty eyes?!"
"You heard me droopy eyes!"
"Fighting is man!"
"Stop fighting!"
"Aye sir!"
"Yes!"
"Stopping a fight is man!"
"She is a woman"
"Ara, ara..."
"Shooby dooba! I'm singing a song today, so listen"
"So this over here is translated like this..."
"Go Levy!"
"I got you this fish, Charle"
"I don't like fish"
"Kiwi is better"
"Hello my beautiful daughter!"
"Ugh! I need some more beer!"
Normal POV
Those were some of the things Lucy could pick up from outside before all the voices disappear behind the sound of the brawl.
"Damn... They never really change, do they?" Lucy was just about to open the doors when a Dragon Slayer was sent flying to the entrance, knocking on Lucy during the process
"Natsu! Be careful!" Erza yelled seeing her two friends on the floor
"Natsu is on top of me" Lucy blushed, realizing how close she was to the pink-haired. Natsu was holding up his weight with his forearms, His body between her legs
"O-Oh, s-sorry Luce!" The boy said while standing up and helping her in the process, looking away from her, a light blush creeping over his cheeks. On the other hand, Lucy was just as red as Erza's hair
"T-That's okay"
"Get a room!" Someone from the crowd shouted.
Lucy realized her face was inches away from Natsu's and looked behind Natsu's shoulder to notice they had an audience. In panic, she did what she knew best
"Lucy kick!" She sent the still blushing Dragon Slayer to the other side of the room while the blonde made her way to the bar. All the people present were sweat-dropping at her behavior, feeling sorry for the Dragon Slayer that was rubbing the new bump on his head.
"Mira, can I have a strawberry smoothie?"
"Coming right up!" Said Mira with a huge smile plastered on her face, ignoring the weird looks everyone was giving to Lucy and Natsu.
Lucy waited for a few minutes to see Mira come back with drink in hand. The blonde kept on pretending like nothing had ever happened and her guildmates weren't giving her weird looks. Soon enough, they all went back to their activities, and Natsu was as lively as ever picking a fight with Gray.
"You know Lucy, you and Natsu have been avoiding the topic for over a week now" Mira said while glancing at said boy.
"What to-?"
"Don't play dumb with me Lucy" Mira smirked, looking back at the blonde "I'm talking about the confession"
"Don't remember" Lucy set her eyes on her drink, as if it was the most interesting thing in the world, giving her lie away.
"You suck at lying" The stellar mage puffed her cheeks
"I agree" said a blue-haired mage that came out of nowhere "Lu-chan, you both are aware of each other's feeling, so I don't the reason why you don't get together already"
"Because... I don't want things to change" she mixed her smoothie a bit with the straw, embarrassed of the topic in hand.
"Wha-? Why?"
"What if we get into an argument? Or worse, what if we break up? It would be really awkward"
"I don't think that would happen, I mean, we are talking about you and Natsu here" Levy said
"Still..."
"Lucy" Mira intervened, leaning on the counter and holding her index finger up, The blonde prepared herself for the scolding that knew it was coming "You won't know unless you try. Promise me you'll talk to Natsu-"
"Ok-"
"Today"
"Wha-? Today?! No way!"
"You've already agreed, or are you going to go back on your word?" Levy told her. Knowing her friend extremely well, the blue haired girl knew Lucy didn't break any promises, for a stellar mage, promises were everything.
"Tch... Fine" she agreed reluctantly.
The rest of the afternoon went by quite fast for the stellar mage, but as the night grew closer, her concerns increased. She knew Natsu would be walking her home that night, since they had spent every night together for that past week (not in that way, perverts)
And like that, the evening arrived
"Oi, Lucy! Let's go!" Natsu said, already standing on the entrance waiting for the stellar mage. Said girl, who was still talking to Mira and Levy, and Erza who had joined the conversation some hours back, made her way to him, not before listening to the She-demon say: "Good Luck" while winking, and seeing her share knowing smiles with the solid script and reequip mages.
Natsu and Lucy were walking side by side down the street, to the girl's apartment on Strawberry Street. Happy was nowhere to be seen since he had decided to stay back at the guild for a while, since Charle was still there and the blue feline was hoping she would accept his fish.
"So..." Lucy started "the weather is nice, don't you think?" "The weather is nice?" she repeated in her head "What the hell is wrong with you Lucy?! Couldn't you think of something less pathetic?! The weather?! I cannot believe how stupid I am"
"Yeah, I suppose so..."
"..." The blonde was still insulting herself in her head when Natsu interrupted her train of thoughts.
"Lucy"
"Yes?!" she replied, a bit too quickly and nervous for her taste "I mean, yeah?"
Natsu chuckled at his friend's antics "I was wondering how you were feeling, with your wounds and all"
"Oh., I'm fine! Wendy did a great job"
"That's good, I was really worried that they were still hurting" Lucy looked away so that Natsu wouldn't be able to see the blush that was creeping up her cheeks
"Are you okay? You're kind of red, do you have a fever or something?" Unfortunately for her, looking away didn't work out "That's just my luck, damn it!"
"Y-yeah I'm fine"
"Are you sure?" She nodded quickly "Okay then"
They finally made it to Lucy's home
"Are you coming in?" Natsu grinned, showing her his characteristic toothy smile "Of course you are" she smiled while saying this, although she was trying to sound exasperated "the idea was to sigh Lucy!"
"Okay... I have to tell him now. It's the best time, but how should I start? 'Hey Natsu, do you remember when I almost die..' No, that sucks 'Hey Natsu, do you remember I confessed to you when I was half-dead?' No! Seriously, what's wrong with you today woman?! 'Do you remember how we confessed when the guild was attacked?' A bit better, but it's still not good enough ..." While Lucy was having an argument with herself, Natsu couldn't help but chuckle at the weird faces she was making
"Oi weirdo, what's wrong?"
"Not- Who are you calling weirdo?!" she turned around to face him
"Well, you are making weird faces, so I think it's a fitting nickname" Lucy pouted
"Shut up" Natsu laughed at her, his deep and husky voice resonating in the quiet apartment
"Hey Lucy" Natsu started saying "Do you remember my confession?"
"That's a good one! Why didn't I think of that?!" she realized she had said her thoughts out loud and covered her mouth with both hands
"Uh?" Natsu gave her a puzzled look, but he couldn't help but smile at his friend's silliness.
"Never mind... Yeah I remember" she glanced at him for a second before setting her eyes on the floor
"Actually I-" they said in unison "You first- Ugh. No, you first"
"You go first, Natsu" said Lucy
"Well, I've been meaning to ask you... Did it mean something to you at all?" his voice was filled with evident sadness, his eyebrows were a bit furrowed, letting her know just how confused he was.
"Of course it meant something! What are you saying idiot?! Do you really think I didn't care?!" Lucy raised her voice a bit, unable to comprehend what her friend and crush was saying.
"Well, it's just that we never really talked about it after that and I..." Now it was Natsu's turn to blush and look away "If you still feel that way about me... I don't want to be your friend anymore"
"Wha-? What the hell do you mean you don't wanna be my friend?! We're teammates Natsu! How can you say that so easily?!" Natsu looked up at his distraught friend to notice the unshed tears in her eyes and went over what he had just said " I don't want to be your friend anymore"
"Oh..." he mumbled to himself and then lifted his head up to look at Lucy "No! I... didn't mean it like that! I meant... UGH! Why is this so difficult?!" Lucy giggled at his friend's boisterous and hesitant behavior, uncharacteristic of him (the last part at least), a bit more relaxed since she now knew that he didn't mean to say what she understood from it "I meant..." Natsu took a deep long breath "I meant that, if you feel the same way that I feel towards you, I don't wanna be friends, I wanna be something else, something more" Natsu was certain that his face's color could rival Erza's hair, but he didn't look away, he decided to take it head on
"Eh?!" Lucy turned as red as Natsu "You mean like... So you... You want us to... you and me...?!"
"And I thought I couldn't get a sentence right, you're worse than me!" The pink-haired man laughed "Yeah, I meant like... so I... I want us to... You and me..." He imitated her. He was composed and with his mocking grin plastered on his face "Yes Lucy, like that. I want us to be together, not as friends… So, do you want to be my girlfriend?" They both blushed at the question, but their eyes were still glued to the other's face. While Natsu was looking intently at Lucy's big brown eyes, Lucy was carefully taking in every emotion that Natsu's jade eyes were carrying. One stood out the most: Love
"Yes" her reply was short and simple, with no hesitation or nervousness, which actually surprised her. She thought that if this time came, she would be a total wreck when she had to give her answer but she wasn't, she was sure of her feelings and she didn't doubt Natsu's either . Natsu smiled, but it wasn't his usual smile, it was not a goofy smile, nor a toothy smile, nor a childish smile or nothing like that. No, it was pleasant, like any other, as well as gentle, affectionate, sweet, mature and sort of charming, just like the man in front of her. She couldn't help but return the gesture and give him her best smile, wishing that hers could be just as beautiful as his.
Natsu started leaning in, just a little bit. His face got closer and closer to Lucy's , their lips were merely inches away, but he was moving too slowly for Lucy's taste, so she started leaning in as well.
Their lips finally touched, and Natsu felt electricity running down his spine. Lucy's lips were soft against his, he wanted her to be closer... he wanted to feel a bit more, so he grabbed her tiny waist with both hands, pressing her body against his. Lucy, on her part, put her arms around his neck, and one of her hands made her way to his pink hair.
They pulled apart soon enough. The kiss didn't last long, but neither of them were disappointed. Natsu put his forehead against hers
"I love you" he whispered with a deep husky voice, the one that Lucy loved but didn't hear often.
"I love you too" she smiled gently at him and he returned the gesture "When the guild finds out they're gonna freak"
"They don't have to know yet" Natsu smirked playfully and Lucy's smile widened
"I guess you're right"
They stayed like that for a few moments, in silence, taking in everything of the other's features and actions, from their breathing, to their beating heart. Lucy started feeling drowsy, there, in Natsu's warm arms, she couldn't help her eyes from closing
"Are you tired?"
"No" she lied and moved to hug him, putting her arms over his, her hands on his shoulders so that she could lean on him, putting her head in the crook of his neck
"You suck at lying"
"So I've heard" she remembered her conversation with Mira from a few hours back
"You should get some sleep" Natsu let her go, pushing her into her bedroom
"What are you going to do?" And like clockwork, his stomach growled
"Well, I'm sort of hungry" He smiled sheepishly
"You don't say... There's some meat on the fridge. I believe you can handle heating it up without burning my kitchen"
"Yeah!" Natsu replied "I think..." he added in his mind
Natsu headed to the kitchen while Lucy went into the bathroom to change into her Pj's and brush her teeth. When she finished putting her hair up in a bun, she came out and found Natsu lying on her bed
"I thought you were getting something to eat"
"I did!"
"Then why aren't you eating?"
"I ate it already! Seriously Luce, you should know by now that I eat pretty fast"
"You don't eat, you more like devour food" Lucy mocked
"Oi!" she laughed at him, sitting beside him
They talked for a long while, and before they could realize, it was midnight
"I should go, it's getting really late and you seem tired"
"Okay..." Lucy said, hoping her disappointment wasn't evident
"Well then! See ya tomorrow Luce!" Lucy was now even more disappointed since Natsu didn't realize she didn't want him to leave "He's still a big dense idiot when it comes to understanding women after all. I think I have to make it clear" Natsu stood up to make his way to the door
"Wait!" Lucy took a hold of his wrist "Can you stay here tonight?"
"Eh?" Natsu, with the kiss still in mind, couldn't help but think of something not so innocent
"Not like that!" she shrieked, realizing what he had in mind
"I didn't say anything!" he defended himself, but blushing a bit because of his dirty thoughts "Although I wouldn't mind" me mumbled, but Lucy heard him an threw a pillow to his face
"Natsu!" she squealed once again, making him laugh
"I know, I know" He took his hand making her stand up, removed the covers and before Lucy could protest he took her by the waist and jumped on the bed
"KYAH!"
"Relax!" Natsu chuckled "It's more fun like that, you freaking out that is"
"Whatever you say, idiot" She pouted "Oh! What about Happy?"
"Oh, he said he would be spending the night at Fairy Hills. Apparently, he's gonna ask for advice from Mira to get Charle's attention" Lucy chuckled
"That sounds like something he would do"
"Yeah, I guess lately he's been trying to get closer to Charle"
"How cute of him" Lucy cuddled with Natsu, putting her head on his shoulder, one of her hands on his chest, while Natsu hugged her, with their legs tangled up
Natsu felt Lucy's heartbeat slow down, the girl was slowly drifting off
"Good night" he whispered into her ear. She could feel him smile
"G'd night" she cuddled a bit more and Natsu felt her smile against his shoulder. He took advantage of their position and buried his nose in her hair, takin in her scent.
The couple peacefully drifted off to sleep, a content smile on their faces, knowing that the one they loved was right beside them.
"Even if there are some things that I never want for them to change, I'm glad this did" Was Lucy's last thought before falling asleep in her boyfriend's arms.

I felt weird writing the kissing scene. What did you think of it?! I actually had no idea how to write it!
BTW, I think next chapter will be the last one guys... I'm not really happy with how this story turned out, so I think I'll put an end to it and focus on my other story "I'm Still waiting", which I think is a bit better because translating a story is easier than writing it from scratch like I did with this one
MAYBE, I'll write this story in Spanish and then correct all my mistakes, and then add some stuff, but I don't know
