Chapter Forty Seven:

Mackenzie was about to slip into the bedroom, her legs beginning to shake, when the hotel room door opened once more. She barely had a chance to turn around when a bloody wrist was being pressed against her lips. She gasped in surprise, her eyes growing wide as she tried to push Godric's arm away. But he grasped the back of her neck, keeping her in place. Her gasp was just enough for a few drops of blood to pass through her lips. She nearly choked as the blood dripped into her mouth, doing her best to struggle.

"Swallow," he ordered pointedly.

She tried to shake her head, but as he squeezed her neck just enough to make her realize just how dead serious he was, she could do nothing but swallow the little amount of blood. The moment she did, she could already feel the effects. Her head stopped spinning almost immediately, the churning in her stomach calming. Her limps no longer ached, and her breathing was no longer rigid.

Mackenzie wasn't sure whether to be furious at Godric for forcing his blood on her or relieved. There was no possible way she was going to make it to Shreveport without Eric realizing the truth.

Godric pulled away from her finally, his wrist dropping to his side and already healing. His expression remained hardened as he waited for her reaction. Their bond was even deeper now; he could feel her fury and confusion even stronger.

"What the hell, Godric?" she stumbled away from him, using the back of her hand to wipe away the blood staining her lips. "What do you think you were doing?"

"I told you I wouldn't tell Eric," he pushed the sleeve of his shirt down. "But you wouldn't have lasted an hour without him realizing the truth."

"That is not okay," she pointed at his wrist. "You can't just force your blood on me because you fee like it."

She knew it the moment the words had blurted out that she had said the wrong thing. His jaw locked, his eyes narrowing as his shoulders squared.

"I will not apologize."

"You're blood doesn't do anything, Godric. It won't cure me. It only delays the inevitable."

"Then I shall delay for as long as possible," he took a step forward, causing her to take one back. "I told you I am not losing you. Especially not this night."

"Godric…"

"We will go home. I granted you that. And then you will tell Eric and we will figure something out. Until then, I will force however many drops of blood down your throat I have to in order to ensure you do not die. Is that understood, Mackenzie? I am not apologizing for trying to keep you alive," he caught her chin before she could take another step back. His eyes softened as his thumb caressed her cheek. "I can't lose you, Mackenzie. I couldn't bare it."

She wanted to yell and hit him for what he had just done. But that look on his face tore at her heart. "You have to prepare yourself, Godric."

"How can you say that?" his eyebrows furrowed. "How can you just be okay with this?"

"I'm the furthest thing from okay. I've never been okay. But I've had to accept it," she shrugged honestly. "In New York, there was no hope. I knew I barely had a few months. That's why I came back immediately after graduation. I wanted to be home. I wanted to be with my family. That was all I wanted before I died. There was no hope for me, Godric. I was scared. I was petrified. But I had to learn to accept that no matter how hard I might fight, I always had a losing chance."

Godric turned away, not able to hear how easily she was able to accept this.

"Hey," she caught his arm before he could zip away. "I had no choice, Godric. I had to figure out a way to be okay."

"We can figure something out. We can find a way."

"But there isn't anything that can be done."

"You don't know that."

Mackenzie sighed as she tugged him back around, moving herself closer to the vampire. He rested his forehead against hers, his fingers toying with a lock of hair. He felt the desire to touch her, to never let her go. He would never be able to. He would never be able to watch as she died. He would do the extreme if he had to, even if Eric detested him for all of eternity.

He would not lose Mackenzie. He couldn't.

"I think what's harder is that I actually have something to live for this time," her hands rested on his chest, enjoying the feeling of being close to him more than she should have. They hadn't been close since the other night after they had shared the same dream. It felt like a lifetime since then, though. So much had happened since. "I mean, I really do have my family this time."

"You've always had your family," Godric murmured, an arm slipping around her waist, keeping her from slipping away from him.

"It's different now. Eric…I think we might really be a family for the first time in fourteen years. I don't want to lose that. Not yet. I was just getting used to it. I don't want to go. I'm not ready. I might accept my fate, but I'm not okay at all," she had to bite down hard on her bottom lip to keep her emotions at bay. "I'm scared, Godric. I'm so scared."

His arm tightened around her, brushing his lips across her forehead. "I won't let you be taken away from us – from me."

"You can't make that decision."

"Yes I can."

She couldn't help but laugh. He sounded like a stubborn five year old who refused to let go of his favourite toy. "Stubborn vampire."

"Naïve human," he tucked her hair behind her ears. "You must be if you believe that I wouldn't do everything in my power to keep you."

Mackenzie felt the sudden wish for him to mean more than just for her to be healthy and alive. But there was no time for feelings she couldn't understand. Nora had just made her attraction to Godric even more confusing, and it was not a thought she could afford.

And yet as Godric stood there, his orbs boring through hers, she could do nothing but stare at his lips. She wanted to kiss him. She was dying and he had just forced him blood on her, and all she wanted was to kiss him. The blood had to have gone to her head this time, scrambling her sensibility.

"We should get ready; Eric will return shortly," Godric murmured, though his arm remained around her. His fingertips danced along the length of her jaw, up and down, before trailing down the curve of her neck.

Her heart started pounding, a soft sigh escaping her lips at his touch. She was feeling calm and erratic all at the same time, all due to this vampire. The tiniest caress and she was going crazy, even as her body was slowly deteriorating.

"Can I ask you a question?" Mackenzie had to bite her bottom lip to suppress a moan as Godric's fingers began drawing small circles at the base of her neck.

"Hm?"

"Nora…she said something to me yesterday," her cheeks began to flush, her gaze dropping to his chest. "She said that your blood, it just heightens my feelings for you, that it doesn't create them out of thin air."

He wasn't surprised at all that Nora had said such a thing. He hadn't been the only one his daughter had been insistent with.

"Is she right?" she asked nervously.

"I don't know," he replied honestly. He didn't know the consequences of a blood bond, not quite like his children did. They had bonded with many over the years, though he had always disagreed with each and every one. He was knowledgeable of only the basics; he felt at a loss for the first time in his two thousand years, and Godric did not like it.

"So, is it possible that…" Mackenzie trailed off, not sure of how to proceed. If Nora was right, then it was entirely possible that she liked Godric, and that his blood was only making her realize her true feelings. "I mean, what I feel, it might be…"

"I don't know," Godric repeated, his hand moving back up to cup her cheek. Warmth spread through him as she moved into his touch without even realizing it. "I wish I had answers for you, Mackenzie, but this is just as new for me as it is for you. I have never bonded with a human before."

"Where's the 'blood bonds for dummies' book when you need it?" she mumbled, her eyes fluttering closed. It was almost frightening how easily she was able to forget everything else in the world when she was near Godric. She was dying, and yet, with Godric, it didn't matter. Nothing did.

Godric's orbs fell to Mackenzie's lips the moment her eyes were closed. He was worried for her. He was petrified that she was going to die, that she would leave him. Pam was more correct than she even realized; he would regret many things with Mackenzie if she died. But still, the hesitance was there. As much as he desired her, he would always be reminded of how wrong this was.

And yet the longer she was in his arms, the more he wanted to ignore everything else. In that single tiny moment, she was his, and that was all that mattered.

"Well, um…" Mackenzie shifted from one foot to another as her eyes slowly opened, her cheeks growing an even darker shade of red. "I should, uh, get my stuff ready."

She could feel it. She could feel that damn attraction growing. She could feel the spark, the heat between them and it was going straight to her head. She needed some distance in order to keep her head on straight.

Squirming out of his arms, Mackenzie hurriedly tried to distance herself. She was only able to turn away before Godric caught her arm though, twisting her back around, lips suddenly crashing down upon hers. Her eyes grew wide as Godric's hand returned to the back of her neck, this time drawing her closer as he tongue swiped across her bottom lip. She should have pulled away. God, she knew she should have pulled away.

But that was the last thing she wanted to do.

Her hands had a mind of their own as they curled behind Godric's neck, pressing herself against his chest. Godric knew just how wrong this was. He knew he wasn't supposed to be kissing her, but he couldn't find the will to stop as he grasped her around the waist, refusing to ever let her go again. He wanted – needed – her. There was an urgency building deep inside of him, an urgency for her.

Turning so Mackenzie's back was flush against the doorway, Godric's hand began to explore, fingertips trailing across her back, falling lower and lower to the hem of the lace dress from the previous night's interview. The tiniest of whimpers sounded from the teen as she started to push at his chest.

"N-need…to…breathe," she managed, breathless as Godric rested his forehead against hers. "Human."

Her eyes heavily closed as his lips brushed along the length of her jaw, pausing at her earlobe before gently nipping. A moan squeaked passed her lips as her hands moved to his shirt, grasping with need. She could barely catch her breath, but she didn't want to. If she even had a moment to think, to realize what was happening, she would surely find something wrong. And so would he. That was the last thing she wanted. Instead, she encouraged the vampire, pressing herself even tighter against him, grinding against how quickly growing erection. Her cheeks flushed but she was surprised when she didn't shy away from his arousal. She had had one too many dreams of this, too days imagining this very moment. She was more than ready, even if she shouldn't be.

Toying with the hem of the dress, Godric quickly lifted Mackenzie, forcing her legs to wind around his waist for support. She gasped in surprise at the quick motion, but immediately welcomed the change. Her nails clawed at his shirt as his own fingers danced across the bottom of her thighs. Electricity was shooting through every inch of her body as his attention drew higher and higher. His lips, meanwhile, had latched themselves to the patch of skin over her pulsing vein, gently sucking while restraining himself from losing control. As Mackenzie pressed against him, however, Godric knew he wouldn't be able to control his urges for much longer.

"Oh!" Mackenzie moaned as the pad of his thumb ever so lightly passed over her panties, shockwaves of pleasure shooting through her entire body at the slow caresses. She had to cling to his shoulders as he pressed his thumb harder against her, making her eyes roll to the back of her head.

It felt better than she ever could have imagined. She had been haunted by dream after dream, felt the ghosted pleasures she never thought possible, and yet nothing could have prepared her for these sensations. She felt out of control, feeling like a tornado tearing through the countryside. She couldn't catch her breath, couldn't even fully grasp what was occurring. All Mackenzie knew was the stirring from her inner core, building and building inside of her.

As the tips of Godric's fingers slipped beneath her panties, his human teeth scrapped along her neck. He so wanted a taste. Just a single drop would suffice. The animal from within was begging for the release, but he struggled to keep it restrained. The moment he pushed her too far, everything would fall to pieces. The battle to keep himself in the right frame of mind, however, was becoming more difficult the louder her moans of pleasure became.

"Oh god!" he toyed with her opening, her nails digging into him as she fought for some kind of composure. She lost it, though, as he thrust a single finger inside of her.

No, her dreams certainly didn't compare to reality at all. Nora had been right after all.

In the foggy haze that was starting to consume her with ecstasy, Mackenzie couldn't help but let out a small laugh amongst her moans. Godric had worked a second finger inside of her before realizing her reaction and halted immediately.

"Are you laughing, my sweet?" her murmured against her neck, laying a soft kiss below her ear.

She wiggled against his hand, pouting that he had stopped his ministrations.

He kept his fingers still, pulling back to catch her gaze. "Are you laughing?"

"I…" she was so out of breath she could barely utter a word. But as Godric stopped her from shifting for a second time, she did her best to express herself. "I was just thinking about…about those…well you know…the dreams."

"Ah," Godric tilted his head to the side. "And what about those dreams?"

"Just how they compares to this," Mackenzie blinked, starting to come down from her high.

"And?"

"Not even the slightest."

"And that is funny?"

She stifled a laugh at his confusion. "Well it's just…we were doing this…before…in a dream…on a couch. It's obviously not that funny."

Godric glanced into the sitting room then back at Mackenzie, a smirk slowly spreading across his lips. Before she could brace herself, Godric had sped them over to the couch, resting her on top of the back, settling himself between her legs.

"Like this?" a hand moved around to her back, his fingers toying with the zipper of her dress.

She wiggled against, pushing herself as much as she could against him, wanting the friction against her own awaiting arousal. "Not quite, but I'll…" she shuddered as the zipper was slowly lowered, his cool fingers trailing down her back. "This is just as good."

"I'd rather better," Godric had her by the waist, moving around the couch in only a blink of an eye as he placed Mackenzie onto the cushions of the couch instead. "This?"

She had lost her dress somewhere along the way, before him in only a simple pair of bra and panties. She felt flushed and embarrassed at being seen by him, her cheeks turning pink as he hovered over her.

"Ah, my favourite colour on you, my sweet," he pecked each cheek before moving down her body, the pads of his fingers drawing small circles at the waist of her panties. "You are delectable."

Mackenzie squirmed as he suddenly ripped the piece of cloth right from her body, his gaze falling to his prize.

"Was this part of one of your dreams?" he wondered as he gently pried her thighs apart, swiping his thumb cross her sensitive bud before lowering himself until his breath caused her to clench in desire. When she didn't reply, his tongue darted out, Mackenzie's head being thrown back as her hands clutched onto the cushions in desperation. "Well?"

"Dear god yes."

"I hope reality is much more appealing that the ghost of one," he lost her the moment his lips captured the bundle of nerves, sheer happiness coursing through him to know the pleasure he was bringing her.

She couldn't utter another word, only moans and screams escaping her lips as Godric traced her lower lips with his fingers, inserting his fingers once more as he paid close attention to her most sensitive nub. He could feel her orgasm approaching and slowed his movements, wanting to stretch this out as long as he possibly could. He likely wouldn't have another chance once Eric learned of what they had done.

"Godric!" she groaned in frustration as he slowed his pace even more. He was driving her insane. She could feel herself just on the brink, ready to throw herself off the edge of pure ecstasy. Mackenzie tried wiggling, lifting her hips for any sort of friction, for Godric's fingers to dive deeper inside of her. But Godric was torturing her, knowing exactly what he was doing to her. "Oh god, please!"

"Oh no, my love," his teeth scraped along her flesh. "Not quite yet."

"I think…" Mackenzie panted. "I think I like the dreams better."

Godric raised an eyebrow as he paused, glancing up her body at the frustration mixed with sated satisfaction plastered across her face. "We'll just have to see about that."

The pace of his fingers suddenly sped, thrusting into her faster than she even thought possible. With his lips back on her, his tongue swirled around her and sent her into a whirlwind of pleasure. Mackenzie was sent over the edge, her toes curling, her entire body shuddering as the orgasm ripped through her. Godric never allowed her to rest as his fingered continued. He was going to make sure her dreams were forgotten by the time he was done with her.

Mackenzie hesitated at the bedroom door after dressing. She didn't know how to act around the vampire she had only just had sex with. She realized with a cool head that they shouldn't have done what they did, that it would come back to bite them in the ass with Eric one day. But a part of her almost didn't want to care. She was dying. Couldn't she be selfish once in her life and just have whatever she wanted? It hadn't felt wrong. Not a single thing had felt wrong being with Godric.

And anyways, Eric wouldn't have time to care once he realized she was sick again.

Sighing, Mackenzie ran her fingers through her hair, taming her blonde locks before reaching for the door. She was startled, however, as the door swung open before she could even touch the knob, Godric appearing on the other side. Her cheeks immediately grew a dark shade of red, hanging her head and averting his stare. She tried to search for something to say, but she was saved as Godric gently grasped her arm and tugged her into the sitting room.

"Pam is here," his whisper was barely audible in her ear.

Mackenzie's eyes grew wide as she found the smirking blonde staring at them in what she could only describe as glee.

"You should have showered," Pam snickered, her gaze moving to the couch. "And you should sanitize. I could have sat there."

"Oh god!" Mackenzie groaned, covering her face as Pam's smirk only grew in amusement.

Pam knew.

"Not that I'm not ecstatic the two of you finally got into each other's pants, but you're idiots if you think Eric won't know," Pam mused. "I smelt it the minute I stepped into the room."

Godric sighed, knowing that Pam was correct. They wouldn't be able to hide what they had done. Eric would know instantly the moment he caught their scents.

"Oh dear god!" Mackenzie was mortified.

"Perhaps we should…" Godric eyed Mackenzie, the blood rushing to her cheeks.

"Unfortunately, there's no time," Pam felt more ecstatic than she should have been as she watched the interaction between the two. Mary Poppins owed her a pair of Alexander McQueen's for losing their bet. "Eric is expecting us in the lobby."

"Shit!" Mackenzie started to panic. She wouldn't have to worry about dying in the near future; Eric was going to kill her that night!

"It won't be that bad, chick pea," Pam ushered them from the room. "Just start crying when he yells. You know you have him wrapped around your finger when you bawl."

Godric shook his head as Pam led them to the elevator. His grand-progeny was enjoying this a bit too much for his liking. He knew how furious Eric will be once he realized what had occurred the moment he had left the room. He had promised Eric to keep his distance, that he would control his growing urges. But Godric had lost control, and it was going to cost him everything.

By the time they reached the lobby, Mackenzie couldn't stop her fidgeting hands. Godric reached for her by instinct, his hand resting on her back.

"It will be all right, Mackenzie," he attempted to calm her.

Mackenzie immediately tore herself from him, however, her eyes as round as saucers as she slapped his hand away. "Don't touch me, he'll know!"

Pam snorted as the doors to the elevators opened. Mackenzie jumped, expecting Eric to appear, but was mildly surprised when it was instead Nan Flanagan.

"There you are," Nan dismissed Pam and Mackenzie, her gaze focused on the ancient vampire. "We have business to attend to."

Godric frowned. "I'm afraid I'm unavailable at this time."

Nan raised an eyebrow as she motioned Pam and Mackenzie out of the elevator, situating herself at Godric's side. "Unless you'd like to be tied and tethered to the Authority for all of eternity you will make yourself available."

Mackenzie paused, glancing back at Godric with a look of worry on her face. What did Nan want now? They had done what the Authority asked of them. Nora had assured them all that they were safe and sound from any and all ramifications. What part of their lives did this woman wish to ruin now?

"I'll be right back," he promised her, offering the tiniest of smiles.

"But…"

"Don't worry. Everything is going to be all right."

But as the doors closed, stealing Godric away from her, Mackenzie had a sinking feeling that everything was most definitely not going to be all right.

A/N: Well this chapter took longer than I was expecting. It was supposed to have more smut, but school has destroyed my creativity, so hopefully you enjoyed what I was somehow able to pull together. Thanks everyone for keeping with me on this one. You all rock.
