"Poppy, what are you sorry for?" questioned Rachel.

"The past. I can't think about the past."

"It's okay, Poppy," answered Rachel as she put a comforting arm around Poppy. "The past can be difficult to talk about, but you don't have to, Poppy, not if you don't want to." Poppy nodded her head in agreement and gave Rachel a weak smile. A ringing came from downstairs. Rachel stood and left the room calling "I bet that's Olivia wanting a lift!"

Poppy smiled to herself. It was great being absorbed in normal, everyday family life, something she'd never experienced before she moved to Katie and Mark's.

As Rachel descended the stairs, she began to wonder about Poppy. What had happened in Poppy's past to make her react like this? With Poppy being the way she is, Rachel thought she'd never know.
