Bella POV
Forks, Washington
It was the third day when I started to note that my mate's heart was slowing down.
"Carlisle it's time, please come and help." I said, knowing I would need his guidance soon.
"Coming little one." He walked in the room and sat down on the couch.
"We just have to wait now, it won't be long. He is going to need you more than me because there is none of me in him. That means you will be his main consort through his first days of his vampirism. You will need to guide him through the same tasks I set out for you, and you will need to take him hunting very soon. The house is closed." Carlisle reminded me of how I should proceed.
It was then that Edward's heart stopped beating. I sat on the bed next to him and waited for him to open his eyes, to see me for the first time with his new eyes. He slowly opened his red eyes, but I could still see some of his gorgeous green, I knew that the green would come back a bit.
"Edward breathe for me please." I told him kindly.
"Bella you are so stunning, baby. I love you so much." Edward's first words were of his love for me. I couldn't be happier at that moment.
"Love you too Edward, can you sit up for me?" I asked. He did so, but it was to fast for a human.
"Again Edward, but slower." This time he was slower but still not slow enough.
"Better Edward, one more time again, slowly get up." This time he was successful.
"Well done Puppy. Now I have a task for you to attempt. I have done all of the tasks that I am giving you to do when I first woke into this life. I know you can do this." I told him with total confidence in my words.
"Can I kiss you first, baby?" Edward asked, with a sexy smirk.
"Yes Puppy, you can kiss me whenever you want, I'm not going anywhere. I am yours forever." He gave me a long kiss and a tight hug.
"What is my first task?" Edward asked, eager to get started.
"You need to thread this needle. Come find me when you have done it the needle threaded and don't worry if you break the needle we have spares." I let him know.
A few hours later Edward came up to me while I was reading my book.
"I did it baby!" He said, happy to have completed his first task.
"Well done, Edward." I said smiling at his enthusiasm.
"Bella why is everyone talking at once?" Edward asked, hiding his ears with his hands, trying to block out all of the noise.
"What do you mean Edward, no one it talking right now? Emmett and Rosalie are watching a movie, from the sounds of it they are watching 'Gone In Sixty Seconds' starring Nicolas Cage.
Jasper and Alice are playing chess without words and Carlisle and Esme are in their room, I would assume that Carlisle is reading and Esme is knitting. So no one is talking. What are you hearing? Tell me exactly what's being said?" I asked, a little worried about him.
"I think I have the voices correct," he started, a little unsure of himself.
"The first that I think I heard is Emmett is saying 'I wish I had that car to drive.'
The next I think is Rosalie, 'I would love to fix that car up, hope Edward is okay.'
Next is Jasper, 'I should be able to win this game!'
Then Carlisle, ' believe he..., his power..., try to sleep...'
Next Esme, 'I hope Edward is having an easy time with his change.'
Now I think the last one would be Alice, but what I'm hearing from her is so confusing because what I'm hearing from her is pictures, I see us walking into a school with everyone." Edward said, completely confused as Alice came into the room and looked at him.
"You can read minds, that is going to help us in the future." Alice said matter of factly.
"Okay Alice, but why can't I hear Bella's mind?" I looked at Alice wanting an answer too, because this was probably part of my talent.
"I think Bella is a shield. That would explain why I can't see her talent just the essence of one, and that's why you can't hear her." Alice theorized.
"Thanks Alice." I said to her as she left us alone.
"Hey puppy, how is your throat feeling?" I asked, knowing he would need to hunt soon.
"It feels like there is a tingle." Edward said with a grimace.
"Okay Edward let's take you on a hunt. Remember you are stronger and faster than me right now." I told him.
"Okay baby I will try and stay with you but right now I don't think I could move to far away from you. When I was sitting at home, when you were away from me I felt off and my chest hurt." Edward told me, absentmindedly rubbing his heart.
"Let's go Edward." I grabbed his hand and led him over to the window that could be opened without effecting the rest of the house.
"You ready?" I asked him as we were standing on the window's ledge.
"Bella how do I do this?" Edward asked, again eager to learn.
"It's very simple Edward, just step out with one leg and with the other push off and land on the balls of your feet. Would you like me to show you how?" I instructed.
"Yes please baby." Edward said while nodding his head.
"Okay pup, watch carefully, ready.? I said.
"Yes!" I gave him a kiss and then jumped. I landed on my toes like I told Edward to land. I look up at him.
"What are you waiting for? The deer to wander into the yard and sit down and play dead for you." I said while laughing at his awe struck face.
"Why are you laughing at me?" I jumped because I had been laughing so hard that I hadn't seen him jump down and land next to me.
"Love you Edward, lets go hunt!" I said excited as I took his hand and started off to hunt for the first time with my mate.
