The landing near Froenburg went smoothly when they had arrived at their destination after sunset. The small mountain town itself, from the small distance Elaine could see it from, looked like the perfect setting for a Christmas card with the snow stuck on roofs, and comforting and welcoming lights decorating windows and streets in the night time air. A perfect example of a community untouched by modernism.

Sightseeing however was not on the current agenda however. Instead, it was going to be a short trek around the town of Froenburg. Elaine could sort of understand Descole's reasons to not go through it, but it still felt like an unnecessary route. Regardless, Elaine and Raymond were (surprise, surprise) carrying the supplies. Leaving Descole free to walk ahead with nothing weighing him down. With the night sky clear, the moonlight gave just enough light for the group to get through without having to use flashlights.

"So, what exactly are we looking for?" asked Elaine, her eyes moving between Descole and the snow covered ground. Descole so she knew what direction to go in, the ground so she didn't get her foot stuck in anything, or anything else that could result in a sprained ankle.

"I'm following the directions I've calculated." Descole didn't bother to look back. "We should be there the next twenty minutes or so."

'The same amount of time it would have taken if we went through the town,' Elaine thought to herself. She wasn't particularly bitter about going around Froenburg. It was just a single thought that went through her mind. Had the snow been heavier or had it actually been snowing, she would not have shied away from bringing it up however.

Near to their destination, Elaine was rapidly tapping her fingers against the straps of the bag she was carrying as her only method to warm them up in the icy air. Looking at where they stopped though, Elaine furrowed her brows when she saw it was just the side of one of the many mountains here.

"Are you sure you calculated right?" Elaine questioned, her eyes not leaving the rocky surface that had a few patches of snow clinging onto it.

"Of course I calculated correctly!" Descole scowled. "There's probably something hidden here. That's all." He stepped closer to the rocky wall and appeared to just be staring at it. After a moment or so, he took out a flashlight hiden on his person and shun it up at the rock.

"Did you spot something, Master?" Raymond asked.

"Actually, yes." Descole careful shun the light around the mountain side, appearing the outline some king of invisible entrance. "The rock surface looks different around here the rest of the mountain. It doesn't look quite as worn as the rest."

"So you're saying someone set up a rocky surface over an entrance?" Elaine squinted her eyes at the light and while it probably was as clear to her as it was Descole, she did notice it eventually.

"Yes, and with low chances of many visitors here it was reasonably clever."

"Bonne. But, 'ow DO we get through then?"

"There's an obvious solution for that, Elaine," Descole said, before he turned back to them. Raymond had already taken off the bag he was carrying and shifting through it when Descole came up to them. He then pulled out a bundle of dynamite and held it out to the masked man.

"Blowing it up?! What if people in Froenburg 'ear?!" Elaine exclaimed, briefly glancing to the path behind her that actually led to the little town.

"We're at a safe enough distance, and I'm sure we could handle anyone who decided to investigate." Elaine still had some doubts, but Descole had already made his way back towards the mountain side. Dynamite in hand, as well as a lighter once he took one out of his pocket. Elaine and Raymond already stepped back, taking some cautionary shelter behind a large rock to avoid any flying debris. Elaine could just barely hear the sizzling hiss coming from the dynamite, followed by the rapidly increasing sound of Descole running to join them, with a few seconds to spare before the expected boom sound echoed out, and followed by faint to large thump sounds of falling rock.

Looking around the corner, Elaine saw the while not all of the rock covering the entrance had been broken down, a little less than the majority of it had been giving them a chance to enter what seemed to be a cave just behind it.

"Still so unsure about it?" Descole didn't wait for a response, maybe not even wanting one, before he began walking ahead with Raymond. Elaine gripped the straps of her bag before following after the two men.

Inside the eerie cave, there already seemed something that some would dare call supernatural about it, but most a strange phenomenon. The inside of the cave felt warmer. Not too shockingly, but a pleasant enough heat that probably would have kept any trapped creatures here warm enough to not die of frostbite. The warmth stayed the same, but as they continued down the tunnel, a very faint glow began to become noticeable ahead of them.

Descole had already quickened his pace a little, though the two following were able to keep up. Near the end, the sound of tinkling water slowly started to come up.

Reaching the end, they were in a chamber. There were pools of water, the source coming down from the ceiling with the glow making the water seem even more pure. The source of the glow itself however was what grabbed their attention with little effort.

Across from them, seemingly embedded into an alcove, there was a block of ice, a few wilds plants and flowers growing on where the rock met the ice. Inside the ice however, was a young, pretty girl. Possibly in her early teens. Her long hair looked about the same blondish-brown colour Elaine remembered Lucy's being from her picture though much, much lighter. She also wore a light pink dress, though the style of it was certainly not from this day and age.

"Is… Is she what I think…?" All clues leading here had to have meant it, but Elaine still couldn't get the words out of her mouth. It was just impossible. It couldn't have been, could it? But then again, why would the clues lead here if not for a valid reason?

"I think she may indeed by an actually… an actually Azran." Descole actually sounded speechless. Here they had come, expecting some kind of relic or monument, but instead find of the last of an extinct race.

"Do you… Think she's alive? Her race would 'ave died out millennias ago, so would it even be possible?" Elaine hadn't felt too comfortable bringing the question up, but someone had to.

"It wouldn't be too far off, would it? If the ice managed to stay intact like this for so long, it could be possible. Such a shame we don't have the right equipment with us." Descole made his way towards the ice with a stride, stopping only a few feet away from the ice to look up at the young girl. He looks back down and tapped at the ice. "The ice probably isn't too normal itself. There may actually be some sort of clue here to solve."

"So we're going to 'elp 'er out then?"

"… No."

"No?" Elaine stared at Descole with confusion along with Raymond. "But… Why…?"

"We don't have the right equipment right now, and it's late." Descole turned back around and looked over Elaine and Raymond back towards the tunnel they came from. "Plus, I want to make sure this tunnel is more secure while we research here."

"And 'ow do you plan to do that?" asked Elaine.

"I already have something in mind. But let's try to cover up the entrance as best we can before we leave." Elaine was a bit bothered by this. Arriving here and only staying for a short had almost made the trip seem pointless. Almost since they did find perhaps the last living Azran.

But Elaine didn't say anything, because Descole did make a fairly good argument. It would be pointless to do research when there was no proper equipment. Plus covering the cave up as best as possible would be the best idea. If someone from Froenburg did end up wandering here and finding this place, it wouldn't be too long until news spread and that was far from Descole's plans. Plus with Targent… Well, mentioning Targent alone should give anyone a good enough idea on why that would be bad.

Of course, that didn't mean that covering the cave entrance up again wasn't worth some grumbling. Having to try and collect all the debris and some new rocks as well as covering some patches in snow had, by the time they finally finished, made Elaine's fingers feel a strong numbness. She couldn't even feel the straps of the bag she was carrying when they left the area.

Walking around Froenburg at night in an upwards direction had been easy enough. Down however, it just felt a little more hazardous. Descole actually stumbled a bit after missing a step covered by the snow, though he had managed to save his dignity by gripping onto a rock within arm's reach. This didn't stop Elaine giggling though.

"Scared to look anything but the graceful gentleman?" Elaine lightly teased.

"No. I just don't want to end up breaking my neck," he grunted as he steadied himself. "Just keep going." Elaine didn't respond, and had continued on like he said. Only for herself to miss her footing and falling. Her right ankle hitting a snow covered rock and making her hiss when it bent at a bit of a more painful angle. Sitting up, she winced a bit and a hand went to the hurt area automatically.

"I believe some would call this karma," Descole commented as he knelt down by Elaine, a brief smirk on his face before he took a look at Elaine's injured ankle.

"Oui, oui. The world decided to revenge you," Elaine muttered before trying to sit up, only to be pushed back down. "I'm fine."

"You're ankle is sprained. Doesn't look too bad. Minor if anything."

"Then I'll try not to put pressure to it until we get back to the Bostonius," Elaine said, once again trying to stand up only to be kept down again.

"You're not walking on an injured ankle. You will only make it worse."

"I'll be careful." Descole scoffed and took the bag off Elaine's back despite her protest and swung one strap over his arm before he picked Elaine up with ease.

"I don't need to be carried," Elaine muttered.

"Well that's what you getting for inflicting karma on yourself for laughing at me," Descole countered, smirking again while Elaine scowled. "Raymond, would you be able to go on ahead and prepare some ice for her ankle?"

"Yes, Master." With Raymond now leading away by a good few steps, Descole began a casual (but careful) stroll through the snow. Elaine glared at Descole.

"You're doing this slowly on purpose!"

"No. I'm holding you so you don't end up hurting yourself more."

"Do I look like a klutz to you?" Elaine snapped.

"No, but you did just have your moment there."

"Shut up!"

One hundred chapters, huh Sonicgirl0485? Hmm... I can't guarantee it. It depends how much longer I can stretch it out before Azran Legacy truly begins, and if I can add chapters in the crew traveling 'round the world, and whether or not I decide to add chapters of things that happen AFTER Azran Legacy ends, or just use those ideas as a sequel story. But overall it could be possible. Let's see how it goes, eh ;)
